Not sure how I feel about this. So while this is a fantastic episode I have a pit of a feeling not seeing the conclusion. Also, I fear it will hurt the re-watch experience later on. I've gone back in your catalog before but this potentially makes us comb a web of parts to get the full thing. It lets us make an informed choice about whether we want to watch this episode now or save it for later, and it will still be a full playthrough with great production value and editing that we can watch for free.

You missed the destroying the country they invade , exploiting it's resources , driving the indigenous animal population close to extinction , being responsible for famines and millions of deaths , crippling their economy, stealing the valuables and displaying them in British museums , dividing countries and aggrevating racial and cultural tensions for fun causing a lifetime of hatred between people and more deaths. Apart from that you're pretty spot on

That’s the thing, right?! I was watching a video and everyone was commenting their favorite combinations of people and I wanted to participate so I started and I had like 12 people for a 4 player game and I was so sad because I couldn’t cut any of them. Like, you have to have Laurie and Brooke because they’re iconic. Dom and Sully and Rosie. Adam is obvious. Blair is so charming she meshes so well with every group. Holly brings something fresh to the group. Jon is hilarious and we all love to watch him spiral, especially when compared to Dom. I never think of Tom first but literally every time he’s in a video I wish he were in more videos. Isaac I wasn’t very fond of at first but he’s really grown on me. Carley is an evil genius but it’s nice to see her playing something other than BOTC. The list goes on and on and on.
Not gonna lie, when Adam said "WAR" in the instruction at the top of the video, my soul cried a bit when it wasn't followed by "GAMES". Damn you Pavlov.
Really fun to watch! Unfortunately sometimes they didn't realise that the card gave them troops to place. For eg. at around 40:00 Holly doesn't add 2 troops to the board which can make a big difference in the war stage.
For those with the retail edition of the game like they have here, I strongly recommend protecting the chips with coin capsules. They are cheap and not only keep the chips from being dinged by play but they also feel much better in the bag. This game is fantastic, from the art to the mechanisms and I can't recommend it strongly enough. There is also a reprint campaign coming soon, which is going to offer upgrade components, and the upgraded chips are probably the best game components I own.
I don't own this game, but I'd not heard of coin capsules before. Very cool! I'm going to have to look through my board game collection and see if there's anything worth getting them for...
Wow, I didn't expect it bc this game truly has so many rules and little components but the battle mechanic is quite simple yet really exciting. All the preparation comes together quite nicely and still they're is a sorta randomness that makes it exciting and rewarding if you win! Definitely my favorite part of the game.
THE CLIFFHANGER I don't know how to feel about this!!!! I love it complicated games are overwhelming but they can be *so* dramatic keep up the great work! can't wait to see how this goes

The cards where the shard dice is on the card is a choice you don’t have to take it if you don’t want to, but the card with the shard die in the corner you have to roll x brilliant as always xxx

When we realize massive rules mistakes like at 59:00 we ususally finish that turn then apply the rule from then on so that all players are advantaged/disadvantaged equally.
14:40 - technically she has the _option_ to roll the madness die to gain the chip. Also, (might be wrong here) the card allows her to place one unit. The wonderlandian (white rabbit) counts as that unit. Wonderlandian, Leader, and Follower are all units. But the rules are a bit vague on initial placement.
I was about to comment how awfully convenient it is that Adam forgot that shield blocking madness rule... but there are so many I honestly can't do it in a good conscience. So instead, a warm welcome to Holly!

I read today that a rather interesting... shall we call it a side effect of Her Majesty's passing is that Twinnings (and Heinz Ketchup and dozens of others companies) are having to either change their packaging that has the seal and says the family approves and uses it. Of course, they can reapply with Charles III, but... how freaking long is that process gonna be with all those companies?
I'm sure you guys get a lot of suggestions and requests for games, but I think it'd be really cool if you guys played Sentinels of the Multiverse: Definitive Edition. the first expansion for it should be coming out fairly early next year, so maybe that would be a good time to feature it?
So here's something I realized about Wonderland's War: Your control over each region is dictated by having supporters, but they don't count towards your strength, right? And, abilities aside, they aren't normally removed by enemy action but by your own madness, right? So this isn't a war where each side is trying to kill each other, this is a political campaign where your goal is to avoid making gaffes that convince your supporters to stay home on Election Day.
Other than laurie, all of you got the correct character. I think laurie just didnt get the correct charatcer because he doesnt fit in in wonderland. Bur i mean holly getting alice? Blaire getting the queen of hearts? Sully getting the mad hatter? You getting the cheshire cat?? Its all so perfect!

Were shields explained? In the first battle her shield in the broken side already, but she didn’t draw any madness. Sullivan didn’t use his shield in the pool of tears, etc. I feel like everyone forgot about shields. Update: I noticed you caught this on the last battle in the first round lol
I have just watched through part 1 now and Sully never chose to put the Mad Hatter into battle instead Sully chose to take an extra card from the tea party phase as per the Mad Hatters skill or perk. x:x
What is sad is this was ONLY a year ago. Now I can't find this game without the expansions. So I can't buy it piece by piece, and I can't seem to find it for less than the cost of a Playstation.
My only exposure to this game was SH&SD playing it at a recent con and discussing it on a podcast, and I'm glad it's as much of a maximalist mess as I heard.

This is a war game about a world formed by madness and transfixed by it and it's still less chaotic than Cosmic Encounter
My only worry about playing a game in person with the NRB crew is their propensity for eating game pieces.
You'll want to avoid hanging out with Paula Deming in that case.

This game isn’t really considered all that complicated by board gaming standards. If you want to see complicated, you should check out Anachrony.
