Thankk youu! Yay, go for it! 💗 It's actually pretty relaxing on a rainy day. I've tried a couple brands now, but if you have access to the DAS brand, it seems to work better ie less cracking :)
Thank you!! Yes, try it :) This was actually my first time using air dry clay and it wasn't too bad. Just use some water to smooth out the surface and if there's anything you don't like, sand it down. If anything breaks, glue it together 💗
@@doritaarrigo6359 ¡Hola!

I sealed the coasters which help repel the moisture. I just wipe it down with a cloth, but I don't recommend submerging them or washing them under water. Unfortunately, they aren't waterproof. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching :)
Beautiful and inspiring work. Can I use air dry clay to make candle holding plates? Also what medium of paint did you use? I am sorry I think I missed it.. was it acrylic?
Thank you so much for the kind words 💕 Yes, I've made candle holding plates with air dry clay. Just make sure you don't leave the candle unattended and don't let it burn to the bottom :) And yes, I used acrylic paint!
Thank you so much! That's such a nice compliment to know someone would want to buy my work. I'm not selling on etsy right now but I would love to one day ❤️
Thank you for watching ❤️The sealer makes it water resistant, but not waterproof. I wouldn't wash it in water. If I find a better sealer to make it waterproof, I'll let you know 😊
It's water resistant, but not water proof. Unfortunately, it's not heat resistant either. If you find a sealer that does both, please let me know! I'd love to try it out.
I am a beginner in using air dry clay but I realise that when the piece that I made dries it has a curve or a twist. What advise can you give to avoid this?
Hi! This has happened to me too and it can def get frustrating :( 1) Try making the clay a little bit thicker, i find that when I make things too thin they like to curve up. Around a quarter inch is good. 2)If thickness is not an issue, try drying it on a rack so air can flow from all angles to get even drying :) 3) Another trick that worked for me when I made thin pieces was sticking it to parchment paper so it doesn't move while drying. Eventually it'll pop off when it's mostly dry, but this method takes a longer time to dry. Try it out and let me know if it works!
hmm 🤔I just took a look on Amazon India and there's a brand called Jovi air dry modelling clay. I haven't used it, but the reviews look pretty good. If it's easily accessible, i'd try it out! Let me know how it goes so I can leave a link for viewers in India to try! 💗
Sure! I have some products listed in my description as well, but below is a detailed list of everything I used: DAS air dry clay I made slip out of water and air dry clay to glue pieces together xacto knife acrylic paints dough cutter wooden chopsticks plastic wrap glass cup for rolling out the clay fine grit sandpaper cotton swab to splatter the black paint Mod podge matte acrylic sealer Enjoy and have fun with air dry clay! 💗
oh noo!! I'm not 100% sure what could be causing it but here are some tips: 1. make sure your clay is fully dry before painting, the moisture could be contributing to the lifting. 2. if youre sanding the clay, make sure all the dust is removed before painting. 3. apply thin coats of paint vs. thick layers 4. make sure your acrylic paint is fully dry before sealing it I hope this helps!
JOOLIE i waited 4 days for it to dry, should I wait longer??? Seemed very dry to me!! And also should I water my acrylic paint?? You’re using regular clay correct?
I think 4 days is good. If it looks and feels dry then that's great! I wouldn't add water to your acrylic paint for the base layers though. That could be the reason your paint is lifting. I only added a little bit for the black paint when splattering, but no water to the base layers. Maybe try without water :) Hope it works outtt! Yup, I'm using regular air dry clay, the DAS brand.
That's a great idea! I would also paint the bottom and seal the entire coaster. You can also add felt or cork on the bottom as well. Also add some nice packaging ❤️
@joolieshome thank you so much for your response ❤ I have a question can I use Varnish to seal the air dry clay (the varnish I use for my acrylic paintings) ??
@@sanaabdullah5768 hmm, i want to say yes, but I haven't tried it before. If it's made for acrylic paintings, I feel like it should be ok. I usually use the modpodge spray sealer which can also be used for acrylic paintings so yes? I tried a gloss sealer once and it dried sticky, so that's the only kind I'd avoid. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!
@@joolieshome will mod podge sealer will make it waterproof or air dry clay isn't waterproof ? Sorry to trouble you I'm a beginner that's why asking too many questions 😅
no trouble at all- ask me anything! I'll do my best to answer :) Yes, the mod podge spray sealer creates a barrier so the clay becomes water resistant. A little bit of condensation from an iced drink can be wiped off an air dry clay coaster without a problem. Unfortunately, it's not meant to sit in water. I wouldn't put it in the dishwasher or submerge a figurine in water. I'm sure you can seal it pretty well with UV resins and sealers, but I wouldn't risk it. Especially if you spent so much time making a beautiful creation!

slip is clay mixed with water- it becomes a thick liquid consistency. It helps hold 2 pieces of clay together, like glue :) Thank you for watching!
