Yep, but the casualties in part came from the Zeros that were guarding the ships. Japanese AA fire is nowhere near as close as accurate as it is in the flashback. Though, since the battleships are now all sentient, they could easily be masters and experts at AA fire. It's just like aiming a machine gun at the sky.
@@mercenarydelta7351Yeah the zeros wrecked American bomber but we also destroyed there entire carrier fleet in that battle as well but in the moivie the carriers are sentient but yet there’s still a forklift working inside so it’s very confusing but it’s possible all of its organs are in a different area
Its not the battle of midway. Based off the planes used on the scene we see F4U crosshairs. Now the battle of midway was in the month of June of 1942, the F4U crosshair was introduced on December 1943 but it first saw action on 1943, also if you look closely you see a Japanese battleship (most likely the Yamato or the Musashi) so this scene is likely portraying the battle of leyte gulf in 1944 But well said about the battle of midway
Skipper Riley, was a United States Navy Vought F4U Corsair in the 1941 - 45 Pacific War between the United States of America and the Empire of Japan. He was the leader, or top instructor of the the U.S. navy fighter squadron VF-17 “Jolly Rogers”. In one of the scenes when Dusty Crophopper was being rebuilt after a horrible crash when one of his enemies in the plane races ordered his henchmen to sabotage Dusty’s radio and made him crash in the water and then getting rescued by the Modern day U.S. Navy, and when Dusty comes back he pushes Skipper to far which makes Skipper answer Dusty’s question, “Why are you so afraid of flying?”. It was because Skipper in 1940s he was on a patrol route with the Jolly Rogers and one of the rookies of the Rogers spotted a single Japanese battle cruiser and thought that the group of the Jolly Rogers could take on that one Japanese ship, after Skipper said “No” and “Negative” many times, he finally said yes and they dived down to the Japanese ship only to find the whole Japanese Fleet which killed everyone of the Jolly Rogers but Skipper. So that’s why Disney put that scene there when they need to tell the backstory of why skipper was so afraid of Flying again, it’s because he didn’t want to be shot down again and being killed this time, or seeing his new trainee, Dusty Crophopper crash into the waters of the Earth of Cars, Planes, and Boats… but that Nightmare of Skippers of Dusty crashing into the ocean only came true, but he survived. Just like how the best race car who ever lived, Lighting McQueen was going to another race when his trucker fell asleep and Lighting was lost in the darkness only to find himself in his new home, Radiator Springs and finding his new friends, Tow Mater, Sally, and more. And he also found the Greatest Racer who also ever lived before lighting became a racer, The Hudson Hornet or Doc Hudson by his retired and actually name. But short lived after the two movies of Cars, Doc sadly passed away, leaving McQueen to live on his legacy and becoming a trainer for a new racer who he helped become a racer forever and McQueen becoming the all new, The Hudson Hornet, honoring Doc. Disney based Skipper on Doc cause Skipper was afraid of flying again and Doc was afraid to race again after they both ended up in a horrible crash that ended both of their careers. And made them both live in the shadows until a bright happy character brought them out of the shadows and made them over come their fears.
There were dive bombers there don’t know if Corsair’s were among them but it’s possible and I know corsairs are fighters but they were used as dive bombers on occasions
In fact, it was useless try to attack ship... reason: it is WW2 American plane, they all have 6 M2 browing (12,7 mm or 50 cal) and if its like i said WW2 it means they could do nothing to Japanese battleships or ships near it... so yea, they made it with the reason :"because"
The Corsairs were present to fight Yamato. They preformed strafing runs with rocks and machines guns. Didn’t do much to the Yamato, but they were devastating for the gunners, which left Yamato vulnerable
This battle might be a reference for Guadal Canal campaign. Notice that it shows only one mission named Glandale canal or something before the flashback, ofc this canal doesnt exists as I know but the name is soo similar the this might be the case. Nevertheless Japan won this campaign after midway according to data. And in this campaign they sunk Hornet too. Hornet was sunk by Shoukaku and Junyou. And in this mission Enterprise got severly damaged by Zuikaku.
Its not the based off the Guadalcanal campaign, yes during 1942-1943 during the battle of Guadalcanal there was a naval battle (battle of salvo islands) but the battle didn’t have the largest battle ship present ( the Yamato) it was only a encounter of cruisers, heavy cruisers, and 20+ destroys, no planes was not primarily involved involved in the naval battle of Guadalcanal. This scene is probably based off the battle of the Philippine sea since we see the Japanese battle ships Yamato/musashi and much more action with a much bigger fleet
Strafing ships was an actual tactic in WW2. Though to be fair, the Corsairs Skipper led were only rookies/recruits and the one who spotted the ship couldn't have been able to tell between a Destroyer (a ship that can actually be sunk via strafing) and a Battleship (which could not).
This would imply that the Austrian painter man was a car, gassed cars (can cars be gassed?), plunged the war into WW2, and killed millions of cars and planes. Just a lil thought
@@ArtDenielle the clip shown has the planes called vought f4u corsair, diving to the targets yamato and musashi. The yamato is the biggest battleship in the world that got sunk by small planes. fun fact: the "it'll be a turkey shoot!" line is a reference to the Battle of the Philippine Sea, in which the US Navy knocked out the IJN's offensive capabilities for the rest of the war. also, this quick battle portrayed here appears to be the first sighting of the IJN Yamato which would then lead to her sinking iirc the same day.
