To any people who think that this movie and its scenes are fake and wrong, I feel is a disservice to the men who were there. This scene alone is a testament to what they had to go through and I am grateful a director made a quality movie with amazing stories of what happened.
@@nintendoandwowsblitz that was what I was trying to say. It upsets me when people call this movie and it’s scenes fake. It is a disservice to what men had to do. I will admit that some of the cgi is a little over the top, but the concept of what men had to do to survive is really good. Sorry if the initial comment was taken the wrong way.
@@nintendoandwowsblitz No, they are way over done. I've been watching WW2 documentaries for over 50 years, and the aircraft and anti-aircraft just wasn't that dense. I'm guessing by your username that you are a gamer, and video games are your point of reference.
They got carried away with the CGI as I knew they would. The aircraft and anti-aircraft were way to dense to be realistic. And the characters were way over the top cowboy. But I suppose they were catering to people that don't know any better. I'm retired Navy, and Navy pilots just don't act that way. Many of those who thought it was realistic probably are young gamers who think video games are realistic, because that's all they know.
If you don't think this is historically accurate then you don't know history. This movie is the most historically accurate film done in years. The events and characters are about as as perfect as can be retold. Watch History Buffs for the full movie breakdown.

I walk out in a slight breeze, my eyes water but the director has these lads "flying and diving" at speed , past and over exploding aircraft, ships and ack ack fire. No one wearing their flight goggles!
I have seen alot of source material on battle of midway and this movie is the closest to real world facts experts have agreed the realism of this war is brilliant and shocking what the pilots and crews of this war had to endure 😢
He’s talking about when his best friend died there, you’d honestly think of that momment if your friend was there and served there as the Japanese attacked that area
This bomb wouldn't even explode, it would rebound from the deck. And maybe even it could hit the plane itself (the German WW2 instructions for bomber pilots clearly forbade such an attack - called Horizontal Tiefangriff - due to the high probability of plane loss if the pilot wouldn't change the direction and angle of a plane before the explosion).

@@HammerJammer81 hope this makes more sense, but the dive bombing scenes are actually historically accurate. Dick best destroyed 2 carriers within the span of a single day and the Japanese weren't able to hit him. Not to mention that Japanese anti aircraft guns sucked during ww2. The only thing I disliked/disappointed about this movie was the pearl harbor scene. Indeed. They knew the score and gave everything they got. Showing respect is the least we can do to honor them

A very realistic sight how things in USA are running. Nothing but purple propaganda.
All of our legends told are more grandiose than the actual event.

Best's squadron vs Yamaguchi's fleet. Nice
I have always liked the colour grading of this movie - a complete mismatch.

Luke Skywalker's attack on the BattleStar was more realistic than this scene...
I doubt very many fighters were shot down by a dauntless. I suppose a few.
