I bought two booster boxes of silver tempest. I had the greatest luck pulling art arts lugia and regidrago in one box so I think I’ll keep the other box sealed to preserve that fire pull streak 😂
Almost done with my Pokémon Go masterset 💪🏻 Jake may call it a weak set but it’s exactly what got me back into Pokémon 😁 I get the point but I’m oldschool and this is exactly what I needed to get excited again
Go was really fun and has nostalgia pokemon in it, also remember the ditto was a really cool idea and later down the line people will remember that stuff
The nice thing about modern sets this past year, is the Trainer Gallery subset. If this didn't have a TG, I would easily pass on it. But as it is, it has a TG and some good cards to boot. I'm in! Thanks for sharing your impressions Jake!
In terms of what I will buy in the next time: I'll definetly take out around 200 bucks a month for Pokémon cards when december starts and I'll also try to hold that amount for the near future. Probably firs ttrying to get most of the Sword and Shield stuff I wanted to collect in the last few months. Still hard to decide what to go for, I'm really into ETB's, so I'll definetly from each set of Sword and Shield one, maybe even going for the booster boxes if it fits into the budget. Getting english products in Austria is not hard these days with cardmarket, but it always hurts me to see the insane deals you get in America like an ETB and two tins for 50 bucks.
I feel similar to a few others in the comments here, that Pokemon Go was a nice set in the sense that the card set wasn't enormous. The card sets that are 250+ are not that attainable for those of us, that this is not our main source of income and get cards when we are able to around the everyday life withdrawals. Pokemon Go reminded me that the company can do it, but they're more concerned about pumping out the cards even if the quality is not as great in the past. The release of the Trainer Gallery sets are great because yes, they're beautiful, however.. we want to catch 'em all... POKEMON! So IMO, I can appreciate that they need to evolve in the sense of 'the times', my wish is that they would focus more on some new art in every set, and if that meant we got four sets a year, or lesser than what they're doing now- I wonder if it would be different in regards to the sets that they produce. Only my opinion!
Idk if this was a fluke, but I was ecstatic when I pulled Alt Art Regidrago V, and Alt Art Unown V from the same box. Also got a golden Lugia VStar and Full Art Candice, TG Zeraora V and TG Blaziken VMax. Insane box never pulled two character super rares before, let alone two alternate arts and a secret rare gold card!

I feel Silver Tempest is 3rd best main set this year. I think it edges out Lost Origin as I feel the pull rates are slightly better. The Trainer Gallery subset is underrated imo. There are several cards in there I like and I also like the full art Trainers as well. It's more than just the Lugia
I got a great deal from my LCS so I bought a case for 550. It was probably the most satisfying case since brilliant stars. Especially since I got the Lugia Alt Art.
I’ve either been getting crazy alt art hits and super lucky boxes or duds with not really any good cards. It’s not fun to open up sealed anymore because of the inconsistency. Japan has a much better way of doing it. It’s better to just try and read the single market and by single cards you really want for as cheep as you can. Not as fun as opening and finding cards yourself. Should be guaranteed that you get 1 best rarity, which is currently an alt art, card in every box. Sealed prices go up, singles go down. Both sellers of sealed products and real loving collectors benefit. Please, everyone wins!
I got a sealed Fusion Strike is it worth opening to try for Gengar Alt Art or better to keep sealed and open the Brilliant Stars instead? Tempest isn’t out here for three more days and I feel like opening some stuff (but I’ll probably just wait either way)

If had known ES was going to be superior, I would have never opened my booster box and I would’ve bought more. I think this set will be similar but definitely not as huge so I still might keep some sealed. Did that for lost origin as well.
@@mr.bhewjew3212 I don't think SIT will go down in history nearly as good as EVS. SIT is decent, Lugia is a fan favorite and it's alt card is gorgeous, but they could've done so much more. Skunktank alt art? Are you kidding me? If you want to invest in a set that will blow up in the future(imo)- wait for Crown Zenith.
Tbf, pokemon go was perfect for me, as it was small. The artworks may have been rather bland but i had fun opening it and it wasn't a barrel without a bottom money wise, like the other sets with 250+ cards and pull rates all over the place are. If they keep this size with quality cards, PTCG is set for the future. But as you said, the experience depends a lot on the set. I opened a FST box and a silver tempest one, felt robbed with FST and had a blast with SIT..
I like simple cards and chaotic cards done well. Too much chaos and you can lose your favourite Pokémon in it, but it's nice when you look at a card and notice a new little detail on it too (like the diglett on the charizard and new fight card)

Call me old and grumpy, but I really disagree about pokemon go being called "weak". The biggest struggle I have with modern sets are how massive they are, and thus to me aren't as fun to collect. I thought it was nice to have a smaller set that was actually possible to complete
I think the textured trainer gallery cards are tough to pull. I have pulled so few. I've pulled more alt arts then the trainer gallery textured cards. Idk hmm.
I usually don’t open up booster boxes but ripped one of these and got like 5 Vs, 2Vstars, 2 Full arts, 2 Radiants, 1 Rainbow trainer, 6Trainer Galleries with the gold Rayquaza
I love this set. I’ve had a ton of fun with it, also spent a little too much on it as well. 😂 I’ve got most of all the biggest hits, just missing some of the rainbows now. But when I say the trainer galleries, alt arts and rainbows are sooooo damn rough, I mean it❕it’s very much prevalent in silver tempest but the pull rates not so much.

The rainbow cards are more fun if you have the full art card they are based on too. Otherwise they're just a tease of something you'd enjoy more if it wasn't a rainbow rare.
Its been hit and miss for me. 1 booster box was insane and one was a total miss. Got that fun of opening a box but now im sticking to just picking up 5 booster packs a week for fun if i hit awesome if not oh well. More of my disposable pokemon money is going back to building my vintage collection. Modern sets are so big spending stupid amounts of money of boxes is just gambling. Do one or two for fun excepting to get nothing. Then focus on buying the singles you want for your collection. Just one random guys opinion on the internet though.

Solid box! I went to a pre-release event and pulled the Uknown Alternate Art and ended up trading it + some cash for a minty Holographic Raichu from Expedition at a card show this past weekend🤩
I've only bought one box, still haven't finished opening, but it's been absolute heat, I got the regidrago alt art (my chase) as well as a mawile full art, secret rare item, duraludon VMAX trainer gallery (the one with raihan), and both of the radiants i wanted, 2 regular Vs, and I still have 14 packs left too
It made no sense to use an Alolan Pokemon as the mascot of this set and not a Galarian type, being this is the last main set of SWSH. A Pokemon that's specific to Sun and Moon? Huh? Should have just been Lugia or Unown as the mascot.
I bought 2 BB for $105 each I got decent pulls. Didn’t pull a Lugia V Alt though . Then the next morning went to GameStop bought 10 more single packs and pulled a Lugia V alt. Such random luck lol

i bought 2 packs at my local grocery store for 6 bux each and i couldn't believe how much it sux!!! 2 reverse holos that's it!! no shiny cards at all, you get one card to talk about per pack!!! Silver Tempest is a great name for the series, it temps you with 1 possible foil infused card 👎

Nobody buy this set it actually sucks, I know you all think it doesn't suck but that's just because it's new and shiny but that's gonna wear off REAL QUICK! And then you're gonna notice "huh, that regidrago card actually looks like crap he's just walking on some dirt like... really highly paid artists?" and "you know, I never noticed before but that unown full art is super plain and boring! Again, REALLY highly paid artists? THIS is the best you can come up with?!" and "...ok now that lugia full art actually kinda sucks but like, I can't quite put my finger on how" yeah you're all gonna notice these things which I noticed IMMEDIATELY! So yes do not buy this set, you will regret it because it's nothing but a super bland slip through the cracks plain old forgettable snooze set.

Question: are the new V cards the old ex cards? Is the pull rate similar or is it rather comparable with the V star cards?

Opened a case. No alts. batching for this set is odd, but TG saved my bum just buying singles now

I picked up 4 three packs and got 2 v's and a radiant. Then I bought a couple cheap singles I like instead of buying more packs.
