Most of RUclipsr think collecting Pokémon cards is for the young but I am 74 years old and love collecting Pokémon cards. I was finally able to get the charizard Ultra Premium Collection box. I watch you everyday to find out what I should be buying I have learned a lot from you but just wanted to let you know age doesn’t stop you from loving Pokémon cards. I’m collecting for my great grandson hoping he will love the cards also. Thanks for all you do love watching you

I was able to snag this from Pokemon Center at retail and I'm more than happy with that price. I haven't opened it yet but as far as value goes, I don't have any great Charizard cards in my collection and this gives me 3. I also LOVE the sleeves, I'm gonna have a great time opening this many packs with my family, and I'll happily use the playmat on my computer desk.
It is a nice collection piece to add to the collection. I don't think it will do good as an investment short term, this is a long term hold 5+ years. The promos will be abundent and cheap in the coming weeks.

I agree. I was able to get two of them. I think like you said this will be a long term hold for value. I don't planning on selling them for 5+ years.
First person I've seen finally point out the real purpose of this collection item. This will be a WANT year down road once the new pokemon set settles in.

Charizard UPCs are still almost double the price on cardmarket after shipping costs right now, and local game shops are no help (close to 270EUR). It's absurd that if I could go to the states to pick up some twenty/thirty mid-range cards, I could fund like half of my trip selling them. I love to watch Jake open cards, but I also feel a deep sense of envy because I cannot afford to.
I just bought one from Gamestop and one from Target! (I was originally just going to keep sealed, but then realized I really wanted to open one too!) So they are definitely printing a lot!

Since most people think it will be much more of a widespread available box than celebrations was, that means people will crack this box way more often, just like you said. That will drasticly reduce the amount of boxes available in the future. Hardly nobody is cracking Celebrations UPCs but everyone wants to crack these charizard UPCs. Thats a good thing for both singles/slab collectors AND sealed box collectors. mark my words! :D great video

I order just 1 from Pokémon Center & 1 from Walmart. From one of those I got lucky to pull the Charizard Vstar rainbow 🌈. I was so exited, especially seeing others taking a L from other RUclips experience people.
Pulled a $300 alt art Charizard from one of the brilliant stars packs in this UPC
This box is actually one of the most overhyped and underwhelming boxes of the year.
The playmat is like 25 percent smaller than standard size, the sleeves are bent and the artwork on the backs is off center, and the promos have horrible quality control issues.
I dont think its the delivery driver, i think they were just poorly handled in general during the printing process. I opened 6, got awful pulls, and all promo cards are going to be 8s/9s at best. Maybe even a 7
13:27 I've opened over 750 packs of Astral Radiace and never pulled 5 straight Ponyta cards back to back to back to back to back. Like what? That's awesome to see it on camera cuz no one would have ever believed that
Funny story, when I got my cards, no kidding, it was in the same Slot where the Manual/Book was on TOP of the box. I was panicking for a bit because I thought someone took out the cards and repackaged the box. However since I got mine from Target I figured that might not have been possible.
I agree with what you stated, they have to do a better job protecting these promos, it's the core reason why you buy a set like this in the first place.
Do you think they do that intentionally? If they make everyone of them perfect, then the value for PSA 10s goes down significantly and that hurts sales for people chasing for the perfect card to grade, etc.
@@mikekrone4582 I actually don't think it's intentional. I think what happens is they're trying to get so much product out that they don't do a good job with quality control

Good luck to anyone trying to get these cards in a black label. The card stock that Pokemon uses for these promos essentially make it impossible to get a 10 for corner or edge subgrades.
So…. Is it worth it and what pricing is reasonable?
How in 2022 are we still getting off centered pokemon cards?If all sheets they are printed on are the same size (which I cannot see why they wouldn't be) then surely its more difficult to cut off centre.

All 3 of my promos came Crimped. Guess I have unique cards then 🤷🏻♂️
120? goes normally for 190 -200 here in Norway so thought it was 170 or 180 other countries :O but I got 1 for 160 with a reserve and ship order to a random store that has it in stock that will ship to my adress. All other stores sold it 190-220. So im pleased.
i buy them for my collection only. the packs hope for some goods but who know :D got me a ruby super pak since last time i talked on this channel. maybe not mint but its not beat up either. some visible age on the flaps but the content is super nice looking and rest of the box too.
I love the promos in this box i think theyre great. Good value for money with 16 packs and the 3 promos for 120$ as for the box itself i think its a little underwhelming. I think the quality of the S&S ultra premium collection was alot better. (Talking about the box itself) the plain white just doesnt do it for me 😂

2 of my promo cards had a nice dent in the side of it. Packs have been kind of strange, multiple hit code cards for evolving skies, but only 1 hit in reality. Upside down cards, etc. The packaging of the promos is really my biggest complaint, but would love to see someone run hit data for the packs as well.

The promo cards won't be damaged by shipping. It happens when they slide the cards with no sleeves on top of each other then have a machine wrap the cards in the clear plastic. You can throw that box around all day and the cards aren't moving which means the cards aren't scrapping against each other to get damaged. Put the blame where it belongs.
I was going to pick this up...but it's just not worth it in the end for me, especially after seeing the quality of the promos. I'll pick up the promo I want and leave it at that.
skip to 16 minutes for the final thoughts - basically, yes, its worth collecting to keep sealed, theres 80 dollars worth of booster packs alone, then each promo card will run between 10 - 20 dollars per card, then there are still the play mat, metallic items, dice, and sleeves
at $120 purchase price your getting $150 without opening anything

Better off just buying the promo cards at a card shop for 7-13$ is the range for the cards. My opinion because I wanted this set only for the promo cards so it’s just a money saver for the cards you actually want
They all come like that they weren’t cut right. I’m waiting on the 2nd reprint to see if the cards come better

The only reason I opened my box was to submit my cards. Boy was I surprised when I opened it. The centering was terrible! Your cards look a lot more centered than mine. I will still send them but not any time soon
The Charizard vmax promo I got out of the UPC I opened was very miscut on the left and right side, so the boarder on the right is not even there. Kind of neat to have a card that so miscut/off center. Luckily the other 2 promos in the UPC looked okay
If it’s that off center you might have a centering dot on the heavy side. If it has the centering dot it’s actually worth more 🤷🏻♂️
Centering was rough on mine, also the top card had a ding with whitening and had a sloppy cut on the top edges
The charizard UPC is almost impossible to get in the Uk stores only having 1 or 2 in stock and theyre getting sold out instantly
Same in Switzerland. Only one store had a decent price. They started selling at 00.00 of october 28... I got to the checkout at 00.03 and it was sold out... got it from a "little" website with impressive customer care. It's still quite expensive (some websites are way higher to be true), but I will help him doing his job and growing up ^^

Opened 3 UPCs, and all 9 promos were dinged on the corners.
One of the corners on all of my charizards were dinged up. I don't even think it will get a psa8 :( I'm so 😭

Wife and I was able to get 2 Charizard Ultra Premium Collection. Promo cards did not have the best centering. Not sure about the corners/edges, but they definitely aren't going to get 10's if we grade it

I got one as well, and yeah the promo cards had some iffy centering and a little chipped. Pretty much the same condition yours were in.
My husband's box comes in today but after reading all the comments and seeing the ponyta incident I'm nervous af. I mean he will still love the playmat and promos though at least so there's that. 🤷

Ok so here's what happened with hubby's box. The pulls were not great. No real chase cards but we got 4 Vs 2 Trainers and 1 Vmax. None were centered very well but only two Pontyas so not a complete disaster.
I had to go back and make sure I wasn’t having a mental breakdown after seeing a thousand ponyta cards in a row
I won 3 of these on whatnot plus a paradigm trigger, BS etb, VMAX Climax booster box and a bunch of single cards. Twas a crazy weekend.

Bought the last one at my local Walmart just for the promos, pulled aerodactyl v alt art out of origins! That's how I justified the purchase to my wife🤣
I opened mine up, pull rates were really bad. One V, two Vmax.
Hey Jake, I opened up 2 of these and I had the same quality issues with the promos. Pretty beat up and off center. Both Charizard V cards I have look like there was a printing issue. It has jagged edges on the bottom and the top left corner has noticeable edgewear on the front where black ink is missing. Definitely sucks when you are opening a $120 box.
On the plus side, I pulled a Lumineon V alt art and a Sylveon V alt art out of 1 of the boxes.

I got screwed with the promos mine came with 2 vmax and no vstar 😭
I got hosed in mine, no darkness ablaze pack. I got an extra fusion force instead.
My promos had not the best alignment, but no whitening on the corners.

My children keep asking for charizard cards for Christmas , luckily got 2 of those boxes for 135 each ! Glad I held off and didn’t buy one for 200+!
My promote's center are way way off, almost like a miss print there....
Promo cards are sick but it costs like 300 dollars where I live which is way too expensive
the one card that has become a challenge for me is the espeon alt art from fusion strike. I guess ill keep trying lol.

Did you notice that you pull 5 ponytas in one pack , and that is something that i have been watching on many videos a lot of error packs and others stuff in the packs like missing code cards , super mis cut cards , doble code cards , now i see that. Definitely what i am thinking might be true. The pokemon company create this upc to throw all packs that they might have as rejected in their factories, you know because is charizard upc who wouldn’t buy that !
I bought this product but got two vmax zards instead of the vstar
collect yes hoard for investment no. These are massively printed and pre orders are still coming in hot. Market should be flooded with ungraded and graded promo cards as well. Celebration UPC still the best UPC out there, exclusive print, exclusive booster packs, exclusive promo cards and should vintage very well.
