At Lumnah Acres we hope our experiences can help guide you to find YOUR BETTER WAY! Please join us in sharing our journey with you, let us be a guide to Modern Homesteading, Self-Sufficiency, and FREEDOM for you!
New Videos 5 Days A Week!!!
Okay, now you have to ship that little doeling to me 😉
Lol...ya all have too much cutest at your homesteads ..lol
The doeling looks like Raven to me. Congrats to Lumnahs and papa Zeke!
There s something quite soothing watching the ladies baking , at this mad time it’s a bit of normality, thank you
Baby goat/girl= Spanky
There is no good day without Figaro :-)
Gina - perhaps you are a bit happy with all that snow = no going up on that scary ladder
Olivia - great skills ( everywhere = kitchen, farm etc.) and pretty in pink(?)
Al- I just can't believe all that snow and ice!!! We had about 100F in CA!
All = stay healthy and thank you for this "outdoor trip" with my morning coffee :-)
You are so blessed !!! :-) :-)
What a delight Olivia is and what an amazingly wholesome childhood she is having. It will be interesting to see how she goes when it comes time to go back to school. I am sure she will miss helping out around the place and you guys will miss having her around. Buttercup's goats are just beautiful - 2 boys and a girl, not even a day old and they are already jumping around. Willow amuses me with her antics and she is such a pleasant Mum to her little one. You must be so thrilled to have four beautiful little ones bouncing around and adding to the life of your farm. That snow is so naughty, I was shocked at how much you had. We only have a couple of weeks left before we go into winter down here and I am looking forward to that - winter in the tropics is lovely. Well, I'm off to bed, thank you for another great video. Oh and Al........could I suggest that you try coconut oil on your chapped lips, they look so sore (even before the latest injury) :). Sending blessings.
Coconut oil smells great, tastes great, but body heats it and runs off and his bruised/swollen lip shouldn't be rubbed. Rather, vaseline is thicker, sticky so remain where you put it, and he could load it on then put gauze over it and tape it in place or protect it with a mask. Chapstick a must and put on thickly for outdoors to protect from sun, wind, cold, cracking and to reduction of sun activating herpes simplex in corners or margins of lips. He needs to protect them for sure.
Looo POP
Buttercup is certainly taking to motherhood, especially considering how freaked out she looked when the first baby arrived.
For a first time mother, she soon figured it out.
I really hope your weather calms down soon.
Al, your poor lip, between the weather and the hit, it's taken a beating this year.
Since Zeke is the Papa all the baby goats should have names with "Z", Zoey for the girl, Zeus and Zack for the boys.
The baby goats are extremely cute and I’m glad you didn’t actually knock yourself out be careful
Al, get some Burts Bee's Pomegranate for the lips and swollen lip. It works wonders, much better than the other lip stuff.
As soon as the girl was born I thought she looked like "Velvet"! Today Gina and Olivia said she was so soft - perfect name.
I've always talked/dreamed of retiring in New Hampshire. I retired a couple of months ago...
I think I'll stay in Georgia, lol...
Oh I wish you could buy the little.girl from Danell, where you bought hope. The little speckled girl. Reminds me of a baby deer. She's so cute!!!
Al, I love the name velvet that someone suggested for the black kid. How about Blanco for the one with the white spot and Zed for the other, taking after his dad, Zeke.
I'm tempted to say the colour is like sable, so Sable, Gabriel and Jet? They look very happy to be here.
I like your choice of names .
I suggested Sable too for the black baby goat.
Such a cool mum, waffles for dinner!! Also I’ve never heard of Shepard’s pie with creamed corn. That’s different
I also put creamed corn in my Shepard's Pie. I don't do it like Gina does, but I do add it. It adds a sweetness to the dish,
Ewwww! Yuck ! I Hate Creamed Vegetables !!!!
I use whole corn or mixed vegetables
I know he's a weather, but I can't help but think Hope and Lil Man would have made beautiful babies!
I thought the same. :)
today we had set our alarms to wake up after only 4 hours sleep, so we could watch an online cremation service for my brother-in-law in England, who passed from this insidious CoVid19. There were only 10 people allowed to go. Afterwards we sat numb before our computer and up popped your email and Al, we decided we really needed to see some new life in those baby goats of yours. Between Olivia's brilliant smiles and those oh so cute wee faces, you encouraged us so much and we wanted to let you know, because you just never know who's watching and why they need a pick me up today. So thank you. Scripture reading was from John 14 1-4 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God ; believe also in me.2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.4 You know the way to the place where I am going.” We live down here but with our eyes looking up!
Congratulations on your new baby's. A little girl name perhaps...
Cinders as she is so dark.
I can't believe that weather, Al. I am in Ireland and we have hardly had any rain for 6 weeks, really unusual for us!
I never separated my mamma and kid from the other goats. Everything was fine. I think it made it easier on my little doeling when her mamma died, she already had a bond with the other goats.
The baby goat are all adorable. I like the names Grace, Noah and Moses. I think Hope should go with Caleb. That color combination would be very pretty. You should get a 55 gallon drum and an aquarium aerator along with a mesh bag to make larger amounts of compost tea.
Wow, that must have been quite a hit, you were lucky you didn't lose a tooth. What a snow storm, in May can you believe it. The little goats are just precious.... so bouncy and lively. Y'all have a Blessed day.
Jeffrey and Geoffrey (pronounced Jahhfrey) and for the little girl, Jelissa
The liitle boys look like they are Chamosais, (not sure I spelled that correct, pronounced sham o zay) colored with a moon spot on his side on the first born! Which is Awesome!! I would love to see the little black one grow up, hope you keep her!!
I think they keep all females all the goats apart from hope (and the 3 new babies) come from willow
The new 3 babies are buttercups not willow. Willow baby is nora.
The boys are Cou Clair and a Cou Clair/Buckskin combo pattern. Love combo patterns, they can be tricky
@@yolandaimgreat1494 I ment apart from he 3 new ones sorry
@@SteadfastFarm so, I'm wondering what a Hope-Caleb combo would make?
Y'all are crackin me up this morning.
chickens: "all right girls, if we hit this fence enough times it will magically lift up."
Melissa for the girl, like the flower name theme! Dandy and lion for the boys
Little Black Beauty. I think I've seen on youtube Cactus Dairy goats channel I think they call the boys colour chamoise.
First born: Rusty. Second: Dusty. Baby Girl : Ebony. I love that the kids were already hopping around! God Bless
They already have a rusty so unlikely use that altho it's cute
Charlotte Harlow , is that what they named the white male they kept form Willow's triplets last year? I always called him little man , because Al did so much I suppose.
@@virginiareid5336 They have a rooster named Rusty, and the white male from Willow is Little Man.
Sierra Sporleder oh my, I forgot about the rooster 😂😂😂
@@virginiareid5336 understanbale he isnt shown much
Loved how she stopped eating to check her babies as soon as they started crying when you picked them up.
Good morning everyone. Aww the goats are gorgeous 😀 how about Seth, Sam and Sabrina? 😊💞
Entering into a miniature Ice Age.
10 to 40 years
Lilly, Beau and Butler. they are so adorable!
In Phoenix, we are seeing a cooling trend, also. 92 degrees is predicted today, down from 104-106 deg. temps. We welcome this cooler weather!!!! :)
Actually it was kind of nice getting back to animals and garden after a year of construction videos 👍
Heyyyy!! Careful now...we LOVE those construction videos!!😁🇺🇸
@@keithrayeski6417 so do i but animals havent been seen much.
Al, that lip of yours looks painful, I've always used Carmex for that.
I own a feed store/garden center down here in Connecticut. We bought our chicks from McMurray this year, no complaints! Amazing how many folks got into raising chicks and vegetable gardening this year! Another great video, Al. I think the 2 new boys should be Abbott and Costello, the baby girl Lucy!
Yay I guessed right on the genders of the little goats. Babies goats are the cutest. They were working their bounces out. I hope Buttercup is a good milker for you.
Nasty snow. Your poor lip, ouch. We haven’t had snow for a few months. Thanks for sharing. Take care, see ya :)
I have loved Hope from the second she was born. She's a people goat, who enjoys some attention.
It because she was rejected by her mother and not taken care of by other goats much
It's the cuddle farm.
Love the babies!! Buttercup really did awesome.
I’m so excited to find out the genders! I could hardly stand it waiting a day to see today’s video! I’m gonna watch it now! It feels like Christmas morning!
hello...the 2 boys could be chip and dale...dodger, toby, gunner, chopper....and then the girl gabby, faith, lexie, callie and gracy😍
Why you guys seperated the baby goat from the mother. The baby goat still need to get her milk from her mother. Since everyday you take away the milk from the mother, don't you think the mother goat will be run out of milk to nurse the baby goat. Why you only feed the male goat with hay dry grass. Since the male goats need to produce their sperm so that they can have more babies and you should give same nutrients which you gave to all the female goats.
sani mondial baby is separated overnight only and mom is milked in the morning (the reason they have goats-to get milk) and spends all day with mom. The male goats do get some grain and sunflower seeds -watching older videos you will see this. They are obviously in great health as they as producing beautiful babies!
Thanks again for another update on Lumnah Acres... I think Dandy or Buster would be a great name for the baby goat. Olivia, I love the way you help Mum cooking the meals. Well done! My Neice, Leila, helps her Granddad in the kitchen as well. Granddad taught her how to cook when she was 9 years old. Now she is 13 years old and Granddad has to get permission to go into the kitchen now.
We use aeration stones and let our compost tea "brew" overnight.
Please take care. We ❤️ love you & your beautiful family
Awww think we all do...
Olivia just like her Dad... she says, “BOOM” as she slides a waffle onto the plate.
Thanks for a super Share..and that was ...fun the switch to the next day..wow...that was some snow..
Also bet Gina...may know....cuz she and her family..all eat so healthy..that sipping a bit of a drink ...is ok with a meal...but too much will interferes..with digestion...Lol just a share and no offense to Al that has a drink with supper..we do too...I usually myself only a tiny glass..lol
We love to sometimes read the comments...and just had noticed ...some wondering lol..God bless always.
In the excitement of the babies being born I didn’t even think about it until Gina was milking Willow, but Willow is a Granny now! Awwww congrats Willow! I think since all your attention has been on the greenhouse the babies names should be Cara (short for Caraway), Juniper, and Fenn (short for Fennel)
I LIVE IN THE UK. HAMPSHIRE AND I LOVE WATCHING EACH DAY THE PROGRESS YOU MAKE WITH YOUR GREENHOUSE AND WATCHING YOU EACH MORNING TALKING TO ALL YOUR GOATS AND ANIMALS. IT IS A JOY TO SEE SOMEONE WHO REALLLY CARES AS IT IS SO OBVIOUS YOU ALL DO. I AM TOTALLY AN ANIMAL LOVER AND TRULY BELIEVE THEY ARE GODS CHILDREN AND IT IS UP TO US TO NURTURE THEM TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY. WELL DONE. FROM MARCIA STEVENSON
Names: Zeus, Thor, and Athena!
Loki
There used to be a children’s picture animation back in the seventies here in the Uk about a little girl who had a dog and a mouse as pets. So as you have two boy goats and a girl how about Mary, mungo and midge.
The herd is growing Al, soon maybe we ll see you making some of that great goat cheese. Feta here we come.
I believe feta is from sheep milk
@Judy G. Thank you Judy
@@cindiberg7718 Looks like you re right, thanks Cindi
Your doing fantastic a question what will you do with the boys will you switch them for girls john from Scotland stay safe
Livi is getting such a great education on the homestead. Not enough kids are fortunate enough to get that hands on experience. Years from now she’ll be a great mom. God bless.
Yes unfortunate that parents don't spend time with their children. Shame today!
When I lived in NE we had snow on Mothers Day, I think I remember 10 inches. Good luck with the rest of your greenhouse.
With big boys like that, you have to watch that the little girl doesn't get pushed out as they get older. :)
Where I live, your uploads come in @ 3 am, a perfect way to end my day....with an awesome video from Lumnah Acres💞💞💞. Also, this particular video quality is like none other!! New camera or different upload quality?
We had freeze and frost warnings last night, be interesting Al if you measure the soil temp in the small hoop garden. Think of them as a heat storage battery.
Noticed possible fish tail on your goat. This split tail and copper color that appears at the back legs of goats signals a copper deficiency.
Considering that we are entering a “solar minimum season” the green house is a very very smart choice / investment. Gotta prepare for colder temperatures to be more of the norm. Those babies are sooo cute.
Hi Al, you've got yourself quite the chef there! Well done Olivia! I see people writing Ebony down for the girl...sounds Great! You may not want to name the boys if you are planning on selling them.
The girl needs to be called Ebony
It's called " Catastrophic Global Warming " !
Have you noticed any difference in taste to the eggs now your chickens are 'free ranging'?
Good morning, everyone! Congratulations on your new triplets, they are adorable.
Btw I love breakfast for dinner, too. But for my waffles I first put sour cream, then strawberry syrup. If you like sour cream, try it next time. They're fantastic that way.
Ouch, Al, don't punch yourself in the face like that, it hurts! We had the cold, down in the 30ºs at night but in the 40-50ºs during the day. Our peas are up but the rest aren't outside yet. Sorry about that snow. We had some snow in the higher elevations here last week. I would go with Dusty & Cloud for the boys and Pearl for the girl (black pearl). Those waffles looked great! Blessings of spring and warmth to all.
Snow!! In Arizona we have had high high heat! You have a sweet family! How long have you had your channel? Baby goats are the best!
Olivia is becoming Great lil cook... bless her heart! ^5
Count your blessings! Even though they. May be covered in glorious s n o w! It was only 81 degrees here yesterday! Four new kids for the Lumunah herd! Soon the boys will need a bigger hangout! And a new garage for all the vehicles! Yep you have tons of projects in the future! That snow is but a hiccup ! How about getting some better lip balm! Your lips look painful and that was before you got wacked!
Good Mawning Lumnah Acres! We had snow too the other day, just depressing! I want to plant my garden but won’t even think about it until after Memorial Day weekend. Who knows this year though! Love the baby goats! Have a great day!
Comet for the first little boy, Delilah for the little girl, and Mercury for the other little guy.
The babys look like little bunnys the way they hop around. Soooo cute.
Holy cow!! That snow!! I feel your pain. Winter just wont let go this year in a lot of places. Your baby goats are so cute.
"Pow!" -Livvy serving up waffles made my day.
Stay warm up there.
Congrats on the new farm family members!!
Good morning! Always a pleasure to watch your video and see your latest adventures. I live in south Texas where I am already enjoying my first crop of tomatoes. Take care!
The little girl name should be Lilly or Joy. The boys Rusty and Bo
What do you do with the milk you collect??
When I saw the little black girl I thought of "Sooty" and for the boys "Snowman" and "Polar". I cdnt believe all that snow in May. Here in Belfast it has been sunny but chilly winds, a bit of much needed rain last night. Good luck with everything. My grandson is doing exams on line today, he's at Grammar school, 1st year. They will remember 2020 for sure. I miss having my grandchildren here for baking and cooking.... the self isolating is hard.... do-able but hard, when I saw wee Olivia cracking those eggs..... I was happy to see her but sad because of not seeing my small children. But, counting my blessings my dears.... Name them 1 by 1 and it will ASTOUND you what the Lord has done😊.
Hi, not to far from Belfast myself 🙋
Al? What brand is your Wood Heater in the house? Buttercup and her like babies are mostly Buckskin and Chamoisee Coat Patterns yet Buckskin usually has a lighter rump? Oh Bother, that snow eh Cold here too in MN
Names with b like Buttercup would be an idea: Brody, Barry, Becky
i wish old man winter would go away.
Should name the little girl Jewel or Onyx
Are you intending to keep all the new baby goats or sell on. ( sorry should have waited until the end, when you answer my question)
How's this for names for the baby goats?
First male: Thomas
Second male: Jefferson
Female: Dusky Sally
If you know early American history, you will understand.
Dusky Sally? Why not just Sally ? Not a part of history that should lifted up.
Baby Goat Names: Cain, Able and Rachel.
After you get the fire going ,how long until the house is fairly comfortable?
Al - Are you wearing makeup or just have you been out in the wind? HA HA HA! You guys have a great day. Im going canoe camping for a week - Just need to get out! Greetings from Perth Ontario Canada.
In horses, a black stripe down the back means that they have a dilution gene, dun color.
We had snow ❄️ on the ground Sunday morning we planted some flowers and 2 rose bushes my daughter and her family got me for Mother’s Day all the other flowers look pretty well. We planted a bunch of potential last year probably about 25 - 30 they should be ok cause they grow on the mountain 🏔 but who knows. I was hoping to see my 🌹 roses before fall. we had a fire 🔥 in our wood stove last night crazy, crazy weather the USA is having. We don’t do a garden however I feel for these families that have there garden in already I hope they don’t loose any of there hard work. God Bless the 🇺🇸 USA 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏. God Bless you and your family 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Zeke is da man 😂. Congratulations 🎉 3 Beautiful kids. Good morning fellow gardeners ☕️
Lol Lumna Acres can time travel 😂
Buttercups kids ...peppermint Patty......Ben and Jerry
Very good combination of names I must say...Peace :)
Now you have to seside what to do with the male kids, sell, or other.
We are at a sunspot minimum and the weather shows it. The weather will be unseasonably cool until that changes. You are going to need that greenhouse.
@Judy G. Who in the world conspired to make the sunspots go away? And carbon emissions are up but the temperature is down, making the global warming crowd nuts. And how do you explain the mini ice age between 1645 to 1715 during which sunspots became exceedingly rare? All of the Greenland settlements froze out and died. And you talk like the sun has no effect on our weather when it is the driving force for all the weather in the world. Our sun is anything but a constant. And just this year, MIT Harvard, Princeton, Oxford, and NASA have agreed to start including space weather in their atmospheric models. And we haven't had but one new major eruption in the Philippines and that was FAR short of a Pinatumbo scale event.
Carbon emissions are up and volcanic activity is down. It is snowing in mid-May in NH and there is no reason but the lack of sunspots to answer for that.
It was 30* here last night..🥶 only have some cauliflower and kale I raised the rest are waiting....it’s suppose to be in the 70*s and possible 80*.....
Crazy weather.......with all the night time snaps the fruit trees probably won’t bear fruit...😑
Brownie, Chocco and Truffle ( like black truffles)
Wow! Can't believe the snow - I wonder if it's the same blast of northern air that we're (UK) getting at the moment? Our weather seems to have been mirroring that in the States this year, strangely.
I hope you gave that bit of conduit a good talking to afterwards!
So sorry to hear of your lip....Ouch.... I love seeing the world threw a child eyes....Clouds in the waffles.....Yummy. Hugs and Prayers ya'll
Since her name is Buttercup, the first should be named REESE'S. The second should be named Peanut, the 3rd....Hershey.
The little black girl --- Blackie? The boys: Dusty and Rusty? Wonderful little babies! Congratulations!
Name Suggestions:
Boy 1: Bullseye
Boy 2: Barnaby
Girl: Bethany
Alternatives: Butterbean, Burke, Bella
Great job on the waffles Olivia! I'm 60 years old this year and I've never made waffles. Beautiful job folding in the egg whites. The babies are so cute. Congrats on the big family Buttercup. I like Lilly fir the little girl, because of her little white Lilly of the valley on her head. The boys...I'm not sure...maybe Farmer and Dell. Only because I really cant think of anything cuter. Lol. I just got my first two chickens. We named the hen Jonie and the rooster is Chachi from the characters from Happy Days. I'm in love with them. I even love to hear the rooster crow in the morning.
