Starting today I am posting a Sitting with Dogs video daily for a week to highlight these amazing pups and in an attempt to Empty the Shelter! Tune in daily as your support will save these pets 🐶🐈❤ This little guy was taken from a homeless person that was kind enough to get him to Animal Control because they didn't know who's dog it was and after checking with as many people as possible in the area he wasn't claimed. Instead of “taken from a homeless person” how about received from a homeless person? Love all the hard work you and your wife do and ur team to save pups. We have all described a situation with a less accurate word that we wish we could have used a better word. We’re all human and those that have watched a least one vid knows ur kind heart & soul. ❤ ya!
This should be reworded to say "this little guy was rescued by a homeless person who was kind enough to get him to Animal Control" because the thumbnail description says 'was taken from', implying that they confiscated a homeless person's dog. Thanks to this person for helping! Twenty-five years ago, I met a homeless man in the laundromat, where he was trying to find someone to help a kitten with a broken leg. I wound up adopting that kitten and she was beloved for 20 years.
I agree. I really hate the Next Door posts where someone is convinced that a beloved pet needs to be taken from a homeless person, simply because the person is homeless.
I think the homeless person deserves credit for giving the gorgeous boy to the shelter. Especially if he could have been sold for money on the streets. ❤
@@SagebrushRambles You're both right. The homeless person found the dog and asked for help getting him to someone who could care for him. The second person (the "stranger") agreed to take the dog to the shelter. Both of them had the same goal and they worked together. I think that's lovely.
@@SagebrushRambles Because the "stranger" had a vehicle. The homeless person would have had to walk the dog to the shelter, which would have been next to impossible.

From the dogs bio page: Luke, nicknamed by Rocky, is a small and nervous 1-year-old male Chihuahua mix. He was surrendered by a good samaritan when homeless folks asked for help as they did not know who he belonged to, nor did they want to keep him. The dog wasnt taken from a homeless owner, anyone who watches this channel knows Rocky is highly compassionate & wouldnt take a homeless persons pet from them. Hope this clarifies things for those alarmed by the title ❤
The link wasn't there earlier. I looked for that. Why didn't he say "found by the homeless" then. It wasn't one person but it claims one person and TAKEN. He was rage baiting.
Tammie, I know what you mean. My princess gives me companionship & a feeling of safety. Turns out I am the one with the bad separation anxiety rather than my "pet" dog.
The homeless person didn't give up their pet, they just found the dog and turned it in since they didn't want it. They need to fix the title as it sounds like the dog was taken from someone when it was found by someone. Rocky even says most homeless people's pets are some of the most well taken care for pets out there.
As you were reading the letters and gently stroking Luke's head, he started to fall asleep, that's when you know he's finnally feeling safe and protected, it's beautiful to see.
We have a female who is almost identical to Luke. She was fearful and had (still has actually attitude) but once she got comfortable and knew she was safe, she is the most loving pup we have ever had. We have had 12 pups and she is the sweetest as can be, total love bug and squirms right into on the bed. Someone adopt Luke, you will not regret it.
My son's family adopted a street dog. The elderly homeless man brought him in to a shelter, part Chih, Jack Russell. WHAT a guy! He was hard to keep in the yard, he was not used to a home....we loved him, he came as "Otis" and Otis he stayed...or "Odie". So good with the kids! Slept with my grandson, ONLY. Age 6.

He’s so cute, and he looks like he’s wearing a mask. His coloring is handsome. This dog needs a lot of love. Hopefully he will be adopted by someone who will be there for him always. Just his eyes by themselves displays so much personality.

My heart is aching seeing Luke. He looks exactly like my min pin mix looked down to the markings and coloring. I miss him still after 12 years of his passing. I adopted him when he was 2 from an animal sanctuary in Nevada. I sure hope Luke gets adopted which, I have no doubt he will. ❤❤

I bet those two little ones from the very beginning will get adopted in the next few days. What cuties. Thanks for not putting music in your videos! Makes it easier to just concentrate on the the dog.
Btw…In the movie Luke wears No. 37 on his prison outfit, symbolizing the 37th verse in the New Testament book of Luke: “For with God, nothing shall be impossible.” Fitting for you, Rocky and for all of these sweet, beautiful animals that you comfort while working to adopt. Thank you! 🙏🏻 ❤
If you start in Matthew (first book of the New Testament) the first chapter with 37 verses is Matthew 5. Matthew 5:37 " 37 But let your statement be, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’; anything beyond these is of evil". i.e. for this little guy, best to tell the truth, not sweet lies. If you can and will adopt him say Yes, if you can't or won't, say No, and let someone else get him.
You are doing some so special for these poor do*’s and it upsets me when someone complains about it. So many angry people in the world just waiting to complain about anything. You keep doing what u do. You’re a good man!
Please be kind to homeless. Unless you HAVE been in this predicament and your only tether to sanity and your former life is your dog, you cannot comment!!!
I completely sympathize with your point. But what if the animal appears to be abused, injured, starving. It may be rare, but that would still be a condition where the dog needs attention. Even people with homes can have a hard time paying very bills. I've been through some terrible times and my cat has been a non-judgmental blessing.
Pearl S. Buck wrote a book about Saint Luke. The title of her book was called " Dear and Glorious Physician. Perhaps your little Luke will be healed and in turn he will be placed with a person who NEEDS to be healed!😢
I think it was actually Taylor Caldwell who wrote "Dear and Glorious Physician". Her real name was Janet Reback and worked with my grandfather many, many years ago in the Immigration and Naturalization Service (now Homeland Security) But yeah - he's definitely a "Cool Hand Luke".
If I lived in your area I would adopt this little guy in a minute. Unfortunately, I live across the country in WV and I also adopted a black Staffy mix who is just starting to come out of her shell. I adopted the 5th of March. She probably would still be in the shelter. She is very loving and gentle but has been through so much. No matter how long it takes she will always be my girl.
He’s beautiful! I love small dogs the most and this one is so pretty with his face markings and big eyes. I could never have left him anywhere! I’d chip him and spoil him rotten!
Little guy, you need to know you are a good boy, such a pretty face and you deserve love, beds, a person who will be your best friend and you be their best friend. Luke you ARE a good boy! ❤️❤️❤️❤️🐶🐶
A little guy out in a big World that hasn't been neutered is going to mark his territory, especially when scared listening to all the other bigger dogs. He's got beautiful markings. Those eyebrows 😍 those get me every time. Hense, my last rescue from shelter. A Black Lab-American Rotty mix. Smaller, but sweet. She gave me those eyes and that look... 😢 The pound had named her Page which for me didn't seem to fit. Kya popped in my head and she came to me instantly. Best rescue ever. Had her many years from about 1yo, long life, sweetheart, and missed by all. ❤️
I mistook the comment about the homeless person, too. Nobody "took" Luke from a homeless owner. It looks like none of the homeless stood up for him to claim him as their own.
You're correct. Typically they will & do. Sadly tho, sometimes not the case. 😢 I'll be homeless in 2 weeks BECAUSE I have my 2 dogs and 3 cats. I'm scared to death of trying to live with the 5 of them in my SUV but you best believe they will always come first before everything. Even having an actual stick built home apparently. I've learned in recent months that there are a good number of people who end up homeless in my area because of the lack of pet friendly rental options and/or lack of money for the one's that do allow pets. The only thing I've found that I could actually afford AND have pets is a home in foreclosure two hours from me. It would cost $6000 more than I have to take over the mortgage and move my belongings, which I would HAPPILY do for my animals. That being said, and as a side note... This current economy is awful for us po'folk. 😢
He might have a terrier part in his lineage that would make him larger than life around other dogs. Very likely that he will be a wonderful only dog for the household; extra perks for him being sweet and personable with cuddles on the sofa and in bed.
Total definition of a Chihuahua! I have had 5 so far. My Atilla had that same attitude. But he did get along with cats and eventually other Chihuahuas also.
Such a cute little boy! I know all about 'project' dogs. My (step)son had a medium sized pittie that just didn't know how to act, and he didn't know how to train, but you could see that she was a sweet girl once you got past the 'tuff girl'. I made it one of my tasks to show both her and my son that with a little love and effort, things can be very different. My son has moved away and was unable to take her with him, so I have now become her person, and she's my little girl. I pray that someone will see this in Luke and take the time and effort to show him some love. I think the reward they get back will be so worth the effort.
@@GongaDuck I tried but guess I’m not good enough. Oh well. I gave all my info. I was ready and wanted to adopt. Maybe my fostering senior unwanted cats was my downfall.

Wow, not that I'm surprised as I've seen you work your magic on the most shut-down dogs, but this lil' tough guy, Luke, just (feeling your relaxing, loving energy) started to nod off. You could see his darling little eyes getting drowsy. You can tell he was so tired from fear and not letting his guard down. To see distressed doggies falling asleep in your lap or company is common and fabulous, as always. Seeing tough little Luke nodding off to sleep in you loving arms is SO rewarding. You never fail to inspire, and delight.😊

Rocky please don't forget to take care of yourself during this week.😊🕯🧡💜🧡
Hope some loving person adopts Cool hand Luke; he deserves all the love there is.. Thank you Rocky
Innocent little boy!! 😢❤
I love your words. A prerequisite
Firmly agree
🎯💯
I completely sympathize with your point. But what if the animal appears to be abused, injured, starving. It may be rare, but that would still be a condition where the dog needs attention. Even people with homes can have a hard time paying very bills. I've been through some terrible times and my cat has been a non-judgmental blessing.
@kathymc234 as a homeless person with furbabies. If they are not being taken care of then they should be helped. It's called common sense!
Pearl S. Buck wrote a book about Saint Luke. The title of her book was called
" Dear and Glorious Physician. Perhaps your little Luke will be healed and in turn he will be placed with a person who NEEDS to be healed!😢
I love Pearl S Buck's books xx
I think it was actually Taylor Caldwell who wrote "Dear and Glorious Physician". Her real name was Janet Reback and worked with my grandfather many, many years ago in the Immigration and Naturalization Service (now Homeland Security)
But yeah - he's definitely a "Cool Hand Luke".
Hes more a Duke than a Luke 😂 all handsome and puffing out his chest heroically, starts fights ... 💖
Rockie, both you and that Precious are Angels on Earth.
He’s so cute. I hope he comes out of his shell and his forever home adopts him soon♥️♥️♥️
I WILL CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND ALL FUR BABIES YOU ARE TRYING TO HELP❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love this baby's expressive face and eyes.
He’s beautiful! I love small dogs the most and this one is so pretty with his face markings and big eyes. I could never have left him anywhere! I’d chip him and spoil him rotten!
He looks like a miniature pincher. He is so cute!
I’m kind of broke right now. But I’m sending Luke lots of hugs and well wishes. Bless you Luke
I love how Luke's ears are, one straight up & one folded over!! What a cutie & when you scooped him, he didn't growl!!
Baby doggie looks like Miniature Pincher mixed up with Chihuahua. Lots of LOVE ❤️ sweetheart doggie 🐾🐾🐾🐾💋
Loved when Luke closed his eyes and relaxed for a few seconds while you held him.
Usually a homeless person will take better care of the dog then themselves
watch the video before complaining.
I mistook the comment about the homeless person, too. Nobody "took" Luke from a homeless owner. It looks like none of the homeless stood up for him to claim him as their own.
Adopt a pet today from a shelter
You're correct. Typically they will & do. Sadly tho, sometimes not the case. 😢
I'll be homeless in 2 weeks BECAUSE I have my 2 dogs and 3 cats.
I'm speaking from experience jackass
He might have a terrier part in his lineage that would make him larger than life around other dogs. Very likely that he will be a wonderful only dog for the household; extra perks for him being sweet and personable with cuddles on the sofa and in bed.
Hi from London UK Rocky, you , Kelly, Alexis and Mel are awesome!
Thank you!
@@rockykanaka easy to speak the truth ❤️
How sad that whoever was his family dumped him and he can’t trust you a lovely man makes my heart hurt
chihuahua...small dog with a BIG ATTITUDE.
Spot on!
Oh, yes! My grandmother's chihuahua was her guard dog.
Total definition of a Chihuahua! I have had 5 so far. My Atilla had that same attitude. But he did get along with cats and eventually other Chihuahuas also.
@@rockykanaka Chihuahua 50% rage and 50% shivering. :D
@@lynnc2875 My chihuahua’s name was Attila too!

I tried but guess I’m not good enough. Oh well. I gave all my info. I was ready and wanted to adopt. Maybe my fostering senior unwanted cats was my downfall.
@@PatriciaTenneryI don't consider this a failure 🤔
You're quite capable of love for animals. Although I don't know how they pick adopters, I'm sure it wasn't anything you did or said wrong. 😊❤
Luke looks tired enjoying a rest in Rocky's arms
He looks like he finally feels safe enough to sleep
Luke is a good boy!!! He will be adopted and loved and happy.
He just needed a bath lol he looked so much happier.
He is so sweet! Reminds me of my chi that passed away 2 yrs ago. He had alot of anxiety and acted so tough. He was so sweet to "his family" but hated anyone new 😅
Rocky don't change, the way you do things, and your laugh it shines n lights up the room or shelter. The shelter must be so proud of you and thank god 🙏 for you .hiya from the uk 🇬🇧 😊😊
Oh my gosh Luke is such a little cutie and I feel he is going to be a lap dog! Good luck with emptying the shelters Rocky 😊❤
He's adorable! I wish we were closer. He needs lots of love and care.
So freaking cute, love the one floppy ear, and that little tough guy attitude.
The grooming apron is so cute! The book looked great too. Nice food toy as well. Nice gifts. 😊
Great movie...must see!! Little "cool hand" Luke will be ok...we got you cutie!
Luke has on a “fierce face”. He is adorable!! He’s got to find a loving family.
Im So Sorry that the first day of a long work week of being a good Samaritan, doing your best to get all the shelter dogs adopted has started out with such harsh, unwarranted judgment! Most of us know you dont have a bad bone in your body, Rocky. We love and appreciate your devotion and all the hard work you all do to help these pups and get them into good loving homes. The week can only get better from here. Sending love and blessings to you all! ❤❤🙏
The only bad judgment is from people who didn't watch this video, never watched his videos, and have no intention of watching any of this channel's videos. They don't matter they are nobodies that don't care enough to do anything they want to sound like they are the ones who care, and everyone else is wrong. They aren't going out of their way to help anybody but themselves. I think we call them Karens!
Exactly! People need to back off!! They have no right to judge him when they don't even know him personally!! They have no idea what good he's done for those sweet babies
Once he is snipped he will calm down alot. He is cute as can be!!!!🥰❤
What a GORGEOUS baby! So wish I had room for a 6th dog! He is a beautiful, sweet soul! Thank you for highlighting him. I hope he gets adopted quickly!!!
Absolutely beautiful and precious doggie.
Wish I lived closer! I would take him now! ❤
He just said he would pay for transportation ! Go for it !!!
Did Luke get adopted? What a little charmer!!!
Rocky, hope to meet you and your wife to thank you in person for all the awesome dedication & love you have for finding pup’s forever homes.
Omg, plan a movie night with Cool Hand Luke! One of Paul Newman's best!! 🎉
Great movie! I haven’t seen it in a while. Thanks for reminding me. I’m going to find it and watch it tonight. “I’m shaking the bush, boss” 😂 I’ve used that line on the job whenever I had a bird doggin tyrant for a supervisor
I love how that little ear doesn't stand up with the other one 😊
Best of luck with the 'Adoption Week'.

On behalf of rescued dogs everywhere, Thank You Rocky
Luke will be a beautiful pet for someone, he needs love and patience, hopefully he'll get his new home soon❤
I 🐾 was left tied to an upper branch of a tree in a gang-infester neighborhood. They fed me cereal and made me fight other little dogs....thank gots for ma and pa rescuing me. I was just like you Luke. You'll be fine, Cool Hands.❤
Precious little furbaby
Love to you
