The ticking is coming from the vanos. It’s pretty normal. Don’t worry. Or get new ones. They cost 750€ a pcs at the dealership. But that’s a bit crazy if u ask me.
@@hoodstarperformance4758 I mean u will lack a bit of power on the low end but nothing major if u got new vanos solenoids and cam sensors. Just use normal oil(0w40; 5w40 or 5w50 in extreme worn cases). Mine does tick a bit too. U can try to refurbish the gears, not the vanos gaskets, but it will still tick and a bit lack low end power(if we compare to brand new vanos). Even tho it’s not that powerful, it should burn its rubber in every gear in low rps, or the vanos ain’t working fine.
Just going to plug FCPEuro if you haven’t found them yet. Anything German, basically. OE, OEM, and 3rd party parts. Lifetime replacement… even for oil.
@@hoodstarperformance4758 …not sure how they are able to offer it, but when I do my oil changes, I just rebottle the old oil and ship it back to them. I bought the first oil change kit, they sent it, i used it. Next oil change, I purchase the new kit, they send it, I bottle the old oil and pack the filter…ship it to them. ~$30-40. They credit the full amount for the 2nd kit. ~$80-90. Got a box full of used parts to send back for lifetime replacement. Buy the part, use it… buy the second, return the first, and they credit you. Super helpful reps, if the process seems too good to be true. Just an email away. Can’t recommend them enough.
@@Originalx1017 I haven't had any luck finding one so I'm going to make my own. I'll cut down a socket and weld a steel tube to it. I'm guessing a BMW dealer may sell them though.
You did a great job with what you have, and showed me what i was looking for on the removal thanks!! Keep up the good work!!
Thanks
Thanks man this was greatly appreciated
