There are several which became "A Few (More) Minutes of Fun"... and that will continue to happen I'm sure, as I often lose track of time when I'm creating! So happy that you are enjoying every minute that comes!! Thank you so much for your company on this creative journey.
So happy you enjoyed it! There's nothing new about these techniques (most of them I picked up from Tim Holtz himself - designer of Distress Inks and these stencils - in his generous online demos)... but sometimes it's easy to forget how effective some simple inking can be. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Hello Alison… STENCILS for the WIN!!! I love watching you play with tags - inks, sprays, stencils, pastes, crackle, etc. hoping to find a few minutes of fun on Friday as we’re having another family weekend while the weather is nice… although… forecast is calling for lots of RAIN… I just love the yellow blossoms with the tonal green leaves and the reverse effect is really cool… Thanks for sharing your creativity and inspiration especially while being extra busy this month teaching Fodder School 3… Have a wonderful week / weekend! 🙂
Not only Fodder School, but my brother and his family are here for ten days, so I'm having family time too! Invite your family to play too... then you can spend as long as you like in the craft room while it's raining!! Sometimes my stencils go for months without being used, so it's been a real joy giving them a good workout again. Happy family/play/art time to you!
Oh definitely... I've always loved the translucence of the Distress Inks. I use the Inks all the time by themselves, and I enjoy using the Oxides with the Inks for various effects. But I almost never use purely Oxides... Have fun digging out your Distress Inks!
I can't claim it as my own technique... I picked it up from Tim Holtz (designer of Distress Inks and these stencils) ages ago - but sometimes it's good to remind ourselves how effective some simple inking can be! Thanks so much for watching and for your lovely comment.
Stencils are so versatile and give such lovely results. The lifting of the ink is really effective. This just goes to show that sometimes the simplest things are the best! Thank you.
Exactly so... nothing revolutionary or difficult about the techniques here - simple, easy, and with lovely results. Thanks so much for watching and for your lovely comment.
Allyson, I have been watching you for a few weeks now, often on my TV, so I don’t comment as much as I would like… You are spectacular… I will definitely be trying a few of your techniques on my channel… Thank you for being so lovely and pleasant…. Few more minutes of fun will be very welcomed.. Big hu…❤
How lovely - thank you so much for coming out of your way to comment - it's much appreciated. I'm delighted you are enjoying the videos, and most of all that you are inspired to have a play yourself... those are the best few minutes of fun! Happy Sunday to you.
So happy you found some new ideas here. I can't claim them as my own (I picked them up way back from Tim Holtz, the creator of Distress Inks and designer of these stencils... and so much more!)... but it's always good to remind ourselves of how effective some simple inking can be. Thank you so much for watching and for commenting.
I would really love to see you take these tags further and make a tag book with them so we can see how to make a book. I'm crafting along with you this time 😊. Although, I am using different stencils because I don't have the same ones you used as of yet.
I'm sure there'll be a tag book somewhere in the future... I don't know whether these tags will be the ones that make it, but they will definitely have some sort of further stages to come, and when I work out what those are, I'll definitely switch the camera on to film them! So happy to hear you are crafting along... hope you're having lots of fun. Thanks so much for your company on this creative journey.
I love how you layered with these stencils using beautiful colourcombinations and created these gorgeous backgrounds😍 they look all so good, but that reversed flower is just fabulous even that 2th subbtle one❤thanks for the inspiration because these techniques were somewhere sleeping in my brain, so happy you woke it up again😃 have a wonderful weekend, Alison❣️
Very happy that these have reminded you how much fun you can have with your stencils... it's too easy to forget those simple techniques can offer real joy! You have a great weekend too.
Love love Love...all that you make, and the way you take us through the proses...could watch you all day. You should be sponsored by Tim Holtz 4 all the things of his you use....... lots of love from italy
I often have too much on my desk, your videos are encouraging me to edit myself! 😅 I love stencils but rarely think to layer them, it's so effective, thank you 🎉🎉
Layering the stencils is great fun - enjoy playing. And my desk doesn't by any means always look this orderly!! Thank you so much for all your lovely, thoughtful comments - very much appreciated.
Well ye did it AGAIN !!😅 !! ALWAYS sooo love your few minutes of fun, I've been doing some , waiting for my Tim Holtz collage paper rolls too !! Enjoy your day dear one !!😊❤
So happy to hear you are enjoying your own few minutes of fun, as well as mine! That's the best possible feedback to know that people are inspired to play. Have a great Sunday.
The stencil flipping is always a treat (there's a whole video on that elsewhere - the link is in the description if you haven't seen it already!). So happy you are enjoying the videos, thank you.
You're very welcome... nothing new or complicated - but sometimes the simple things are the best! Thanks so much for watching and for your always lovely comments.
Sorry about that! I'm sure there will be some more longer ones on the way again soon... I always enjoy a few (more) minutes of fun, and quite often I lose track of time when I'm creating! So happy you are enjoying the minutes there are... thank you for your company on this creative journey.
😁😁Yes, I tracked down the Salvaged Patina! So happy to start your weekend off with some fun. Thank you so much for your company on this creative journey.
Very happy you enjoyed it - thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment. There's actually a whole video looking at flipping stencils (I didn't really mean to do that technique here, but that inky stencil was just begging to be flipped!)... you can take a look at it here if you're interested and haven't already seen it: ruclips.net/video/hA09HcZUpf0/видео.html

So happy to hear you are learning as well as enjoying the videos!! I did have a good source for buying the tags in bulk (the same quality as the Ranger tags, but so much cheaper), but sadly the independent UK online craft retailer closed down earlier this year, unable to continue competing with the likes of Amazon. New sub. Love your work. Is it doable to place the ink in rows….? So we can clearly see which colours you’re using if we don’t catch the name? Many thanks. ❤🇦🇺
Very happy you like the work and decided to subscribe - welcome! I'm afraid I'm unlikely to be organised enough to line the inks up in an orderly fashion while I'm actually working - my brain is busy with other things... but the products I've used are always listed in the description below the video. (And you could always go back ten seconds to hear the name again... I do try always to remember to say each of them, though I know it's not a 100% guarantee... but that's why I do the listings in the descriptions.)
Hi! I just watched this again, and was wondering if given Fall is coming upon us (and also because I just got some ink pads that lend themselves to the Fall), if you could do some tags with Fall colors and themes. Thanks!
My colours absolutely change with the seasons - they always have - but it's still summer here, so it will be a little while yet before the autumn colours appear on the craft mat!

That's the Nordic stencil - THS070... as you can see from all the paint on it, I love it and use it a lot! Happy you enjoyed seeing the colours and layers building, thank you.
Hi Alison, I've noticed that you seem to get alot more ink on your projects compared to when I do it and I was wondering if you reink your ink pads before filming?
No... I only re-ink when a pad is really running very dry. I've only done it a handful of times over the course of more than a decade... Maybe it's making sure the blending tool sponge is fully loaded up? Can't think of any other obvious suggestions, other than the amount of pressure you apply it with.
