      This comment has a better title than the video itself though...
      I'm trying to share the episode with people but I don't want them be like; "Why does he think I'm addicted to sugar?"/"I'm not addicted to sugar"
      I almost didn't click on the video because it but I still did because of Jessie, just a constructive criticism

    She’s not a doctor, nor am I. I’m 2yrs in this diabetic deal. To make it worst, I’m a type 1 and I listened to doctors. Twice I almost died or could have. 2yrs I was forced into doing research into something to find answers that a careered doctor could not answer. For someone who makes a living off of maintain a healthy standard by answering my questions with a “I don’t know” or “We’ve not been trained to answer those type of questions” or better yet “We are not used to patients asking those kind of questions”. She better than most doctors I’ve experienced and I used to work for a major hospital for 16yrs. You don’t have to be a medical professional, medical student or a pharmacist to see that are prescribed medication have life threatening side effects but most still take them. I’ve gotten more clarification from the Glucose Goddess in 4 of her videos than I did from 8yrs of listening to a bunch of white coats pondering of why my visit was scheduled for that day. When I was diagnosed, I was devastated hearing after I felt I was healthy and not have been sick since the mid 70’s, hell, I was doing great. After being prescribed the wrong meds for being misdiagnosed twice (by several doctors) for the same condition, people question the validity of these findings of the Glucose Goddess? Wake up. I’ve asked seasoned diabetics who’ve had lived with this condition and still don’t know what they’re dealing with and yet I’m 2yrs with it and learned it’s not hereditary, that it’s epigenetic (which I know most have no clue as to what that is, that diabetes, dementia, cancer and a host of other physical illnesses derived from similar issues except slightly different drivers that are exposed from neurotoxicity. SUGAR!!! You ask me, this beautiful lady is 100% on point. Ask yourself, could you have done this kind of research to find answers to save your own life? Or have someone who gained your trust that have sold their soul to the devil to make a living off of draining the rest of your life out of you? We deal with diabetes at this title because it’s a symptom of the one and all Metabolic Syndrome. Meaning a multitude of symptoms. There one thing that the sciences knows is that there one thing causing our condition and the Glucose Goddess has been dead on track compared to all I’ve researched. I can go on forever. I’ve followed this beautiful woman and her knowledge for just over two weeks now and have found her motivation and drive as well as understanding to be a God Send!!!

      @@sd13014 first, I quit sugar, flour, processed foods, pork, and shellfish for 40 days. And that cleared my skin completely.
      Now, I’m able to maintain being free of acne as long as I eat very little sugar or flour. But my skin is the clearest when I go back to completely, no sugar, no flour, and no processed foods, plus probiotics, because the gut-skin connection is a very real thing!
      But for the most part, biggest thing has been no sugar. And I see the biggest acne flareups if I do eat sugar.
      Also, eating sugar has the most effect when it’s by itself because of that quick glucose spike and associated sebum production, whereas it’s not as bad if it’s at the end of a meal that had plenty of protein and fiber. But avoiding refined cane sugar completely is the best.
      Hope that helps!

      From the information from research scientist, Dr. T. Colin Campbell, from his book "The China Study" and medical doctor, Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn, Jr., and his book, "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease," I understand that a whole-food plant-based diet without oil, sugar, and salt should solve heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. Dr. Campbell is out of Cornell, and Dr. Esselstyn is out of The Cleveland Clinic.
      If you Google their names on RUclips, there are many videos where they talk about their research results. And, the documentary, "Forks Over Knives," available on RUclips, is a great introduction to this topic.
      Following having COVID in April of 2020, I decided to boost my immunity and improve my overall health and mood, and decided to go in this direction. I lost about 20 pounds, feel lighter in general, and am happy I eat this way now.
      This glucose interview gave me a couple of added pointers on glucose, but my important foundation is the whole-food plant-based way of eating in general.

    I remember as a school kid in China, i always dreaded classes in the afternoon, because i always get so sleepy after lunch. Our lunch meal were packed with a lot of rice and some veggies and not much protein (we were doing okay financially, and protein is more like a treat). We always eat a lot of rice, believing it to be most filling and will sustain us longer. Now i finally understood why, all those years spent thinking i was a lazy kid who had a hard time keep focusing and stay awake 😢

    I knew already many of the hacks in this interview (partly because I had a blood sugar issue in my mid twenties), but there was some additional information that was useful 🤓👍🏼, and I can see she is sincere ❤️🤩! However, I must disagree on one thing: that it is the same for the body to eat white, refined sugar (that has gone through up to 70 different processes, including chemical ones), than getting this from a fruit or similar. Maybe as far as glucose goes it is true, but this is a way of thinking of something only in terms of its parts instead of the whole (Holistically). Health is not singularly decided by glucose. Fruit has many healthy and protective phyto-chemicals and other nutrients, that you will miss out on, if you cut out fruits from your diet purely based on glucose content. So please don’t switch your fruit with Coca Cola, because you have been told it is the same for your body 😱!

I do okay if I have say, an oat waffle (homemade - no fat, no sugar), with a little dairy-free yogurt, some berries, and a little maple syrup. But I definitely love a protein-packed savory breakfast. She was having a trauma response after that back injury. I'm glad balancing glucose helped but there are a lot of issues here. A therapist that specialized in trauma was necessary and the work needed to be somatic based. If you store trauma it will negatively effect your body- ALWAYS. What is so sad to me, is that after the "pandemic" almost everyone, from children to the elderly have some sort of PTSD that wasn't there before.

    thank you for giving such an useful information. i really give high respect to people who promote preventive way to get ourselves healthier instead of waiting the sickness coming to hit us with the result of the painful medication or treatment. Our health is what we eat every day. If we stay passive to blindly and incautiously eating whatever appearing to be tasty but damaging our health in longer, its at the high expense of our health and hence ultimately a huge suffering that sometimes even medication cant help much!

I am 73 years old and have been watching my glucose intake for some time as my sugar numbers are always pretty high, but so far, no meds!!! I no longer drink alcohol, but wonder if drinking a glass of wine is like consuming a sugar or carb??? It should be consumed with a protein or fat, etc.?? Out of everything that has been said, the only challenge I have is that if eating a bar of chocolate does not give us any energy or any physiological uplift, but only increases dopamine; how does that work will someone who is hypoglycemic and has a chocolate bar to increase their blood glucose and indeed does give them that uplift in energy? That can't be the dopamine that has done that?
    Or are we saying, that only works with someone who is hypoglycemic, but not those who just need a lift in mood but their blood glucose is not low?

    I heard that diet drinks where sugar is replaced by artificial, non-sugar sweeteners are giving the body the message that its getting something sweet, and therefore the body pours out insulin, which in turn causes diabetes. Grateful for thoughts, informed facts?

    • @leannen7578
      @leannen7578 8 месяцев назад +2

      I don’t think so, sweetener makes your brain satisfy but has no calorie, your glucose won’t spike that much after eating it but actual sugar does, insulin is produced when your glucose is high not when you eat something tastes sweet.

    • @patrickbateman6080
      @patrickbateman6080 5 месяцев назад

      @@leannen7578 Wrong… Cephalic Phase Insulin Release
      (CPIR)is when there is also an early phase of insulin release that can occur when you taste, smell, or even think about food, particularly sweet foods.
      . It prepares your body for the incoming nutrients by releasing a small amount of insulin before blood glucose levels actually rise. So you’re wrong, it tricks the brain into thinking that you are consuming sugar when it’s not real sugar, and the insulin is released for no reason causing MORE insulin resistance.

She says at the beginning of the interview "every cell in your body runs on glucose, glucose is what powers your system" then later on she says "whenever you're eating sugar, it's purely for taste and enjoyment" and thay glucose is something "extra" and optional. So which is it??

Also many fruits have smaller affect on you blood sugar, like berries and are so full of goodness for us! Also you can always put some more fibre there- green ones ! Green leafy vegetables are great for smoothies with fruits. Seeds, oats… so many ways to make a fruit smoothie really healthy! Of course, ripened bananas are higher in sugar, so just learn to do a good combination!
