Three major thoughts on this musical:
1. Footprints on the Sand is such a beautiful meditation on legacy.
2. For the Rest of My Life is a brave and powerful humanisation of Moses.
3. Ramses is really hot.
He sure is HOT!
Both brothers are hot
People are honestly sleeping on this Musical. I was sceptical going in as they have changed a few things (Playing with the Big Boys Now is now a musical rift rather than a song) but I was BLOWN AWAY. It's very minimalist but is still breath taking in it's design. The cast were incredible and 'Deliver us', 'Footprints on the Sands' and (of course) 'When You Believe' gave me actual chills to the point I had to put my coat back on!. The Circle was almost empty when I went so I implore you to see it. It's a cheaper musical (I paid £20ish for seats with a great view), the staff at the Dominion are so friendly and are very Covid Cautious if you're worried about that. SEE. THIS. MUSICAL.
It was absolutely fantastic! I need to see it again before it leaves the West End.
*big, playing with the big boys now.
I loved it apart from making Rameses good in the end. Apparently expanding the empire with no slaves. Like wtf?
@@horatiohuskisson5471 It's based on history. Rameses was Egypt's greatest Pharaoh.
@@JavertRA Sources? Too bad that it’s not historically accurate that he was the pgharaoh at that time, though.
Dreamworks, if you're reading this, MAKE A DVD OF THIS MUSICAL ALREADY! You did it for Shrek, you need to do it for Prince of Egypt so everyone from all around can experience this Absolutely stunning show!!
Edit: YESSSSSSSSSSSS HOLY FUCKING SHIT ITS HAPPENING IM SO EXCITED AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Please!!! Yes!! Let’s make a petition. I’m in the U.S. so an opportunity to see this musical is very hard!
Oh I agree 100%! I grew up with this movie and it was my childhood and it definitely helped me in the times of need! 🧡💙
Yesss please!!!!!
Yes!!!
So so so true. Please DVD for The Prince of Egypt 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I truly loved this show. It’s so underrated
I agree, it's an incredible show! 😍
I saw Prince of Egypt on closing day. It was a matinee performance but it rightly received a standing ovation. It was beautifully staged and incredibly well sung. The cast were in tears to see the matinee crowd on their feet.
Hearing When You Believe during a pandemic hits different 🤧❤️
Christine is what I cal a tone monster. I don’t care what she sings, I’m always gonna be in love because of that killer tone. It’s so warm and full and has range!
The Ashira part always got me teary eyed. Loved it.
BRING THIS MUSICAL TO NORTH AMERICA ASAP! DELIVER US TO THE PROMISED MUSICAL!
Snaps to that child, i mean she's singing in front of all those people with no fear.
That’s what they’re getting paid for
@@astridgamez19 true that
@@astridgamez19true. But singing in a dark theatre is vastly different than singing to a live crowd you can actually see.
@@mollycblaeseryou can see the entire audience even in a dark theatre
@@FatFiber8096 I'm an actor. Unless you're looking closely, not really.
UGH, I never get tired of musicals like this. I want to see a real deal someday.
This is one of my favourite shows ever. DreamWorks really know how to make a musical, first Shrek now this.
The note that Christine sings at 10:46 is uhh-maazing!
This just popped up in my feed a year later after it’s been posted I am from USA & a huge Prince of Egypt fan. I have been following the west end musical on social media but for some reason I didn’t know this video existed. I am SO happy to finally be able to see some of the songs I’ve listened to on the cast album for several years. These performances are incredible! And Christine Allado? Heck yes, she slayed it! This play and movie is so underrated!
Love Christine Allado 😍 amazing performance by all!
Please bring this musical to the states soon!!!
Amen! I agree wholeheartedly!
I only saw it in the cinema as a live recording but even then, so many goosebumps and I cried. It’s my fav musical and I can’t stop listening to it it so good. The original movie is slightly better but they bring different qualities with one being animated and the other being live. I love love love both and I would definitely recommend watching either. It’s fantastic
I saw this show yesterday. Breathtaking. Quite simply the best live production I have seen.
Had the west end soundtrack on repeat during the pandemic and this is going to be the closest I see the performance! 😭 I’m grateful! There can be miracles~~ 🎤🎶🎶
Digital release of the full show incoming!
Heart touching!! I cried my eyes out the entire performance!! What a brilliant brilliant cast! Superb! You must see this!! ♥️
By far the best performance. Absolutly amazing
When u believe always hits me hard!!!!!! The power behind that song
Wow by the end of that performance I was in tears, so stunning 😍
Saw the show on Saturday ! It was incredible! I'm obsessed !!!
I think Make It Right is really powerful and a true gem from the musical.
This show will blow your mind! It is amazing from the songs to performance to staging. Highly recommended!
The show is so spectacular with a massive cast. Get to see it now before the tourists return and make getting a ticket impossible ! The best show to ever grace the Dominion stage ! My top 3 ; 1. Prince of Egypt 2. Elf 3. Time
Loads of offers on the shows own site !!!
I’m seeing this next month-third time lucky! I also loved ‘Time’ (life long Cliff fan). I remember being blown away by the lighting effects!
@@patseymour3173 you will love it. Like Time it wraps around the theatre in a thrilling immersive way ! Tells the story in a unique and beautiful way. The Dominion is the best theatre for big musicals in my opinion. Great views from every seat.
I saw it with half audience the cast are fabulous and the staff at the theatre really looked after everyone,
They need some tourists to keep going I feel. I truly loved this show but Tickets sales seem to be meh and it’s not looking good tbh
@@99LordRock Saw the show last Thursday and thought it was fab-very cleverly done. Shame it’s closing in January-this pandemic has a lot to answer for!
If you can get the chance to see this before it goes off in London in January do so, this was my favourite movie as a kid and the musical did a wonderful job. Was so nervous it would be rubbish but it’s amazing
I wish I'd seen this. We're singing some songs from this in our next stage school show and I'm so excited. One of my favourite movies. Absolute masterpiece.
This show genuinely changed me upon seeing it live, I'm going to try and see it 2 more times before it leaves the West End, even though I want nothing more than this to have permanent residency at a theater
Went twice already… blown away
I have just come from seeing this show. It is one if the best shows I have ever seen, Everything about it is perfect
One of the best shows I have seen - and I went to see it twice!!! Love the soundtrack, love the cast.
Oh I love the songs and the music! ❤️😍❤️
I saw this show 2 days ago! Damn! It was so GOOD!
10:01 one of my favorite song 🎶 from the prince of Egypt.
This show has some of my all-time favorite music. And I'm in love with Luke Brady.
He's so hot.
4:50 was felt so much 😢 still wishing i get to see this musical in person
Wow wow wow!! Watching from NYC with tears in my eyes from your MAGNIFICENT performances!! I watched the videos before our world shut down and now I am so happy to see you performing!! I wish to come to West End just to see this show 😊Hopefully some day soon 😊Thank you to all involved in this beautiful show! I remember seeing the animated movie in the theater with my sons and just loving everything about it, most especially the beautiful music!!! God’s blessings to all of you and in “Broadway speak,” break a leg! 👏👏👏👏👏
Saw the show yesterday! It was superb! All the casts were amazing!
I’m crying this is so beautiful
Saw it last week and front row was empty so just sat there instead. Defo see it before the tourists come back.
:When You Believe is making me sob
They did a great job with the musical ❤
Wow. Glad you can get to the theatre again. This performance rocks big time. Yay!
Saw the show 2 weeks ago and it was amazing. The 2 leads were equally great. Go see it if you have the opportunity.
Can't sleep on the ensemble tho they were incredible
Please PLEASE PLEASE for the Love of GOD...bring this musical to the United States!!!!! I BEG OF YOU!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!! I am dying to see this since I won't make it to London anytime soon to see it. It plays in the West End until January 8th. I WON'T STOP UNTIL IT COMES TO THE STATES AND IT HAPPENS!!!!! I will call all the Chicago Theaters to make it happen. Don't forget us across the pond LONDENERS!!!!!
it is greatly sung, but i miss the old movie songs! THOSE were epic!
Are they not in the musical?
@@mikesteele05 As far as I'm aware, all the main songs (apart from playing with the big boys) are in the stage musical.
@@pandorah630not "Playing with the Big Boys" tho?! Dang, that would have been a great song for some stage illusions!
@mollycblaeser I did say "apart from playing with the big boys" 😅. To be honest I'm glad it wasn't there as its my least favourite and i think an extra character in the show would have made it too crowded.
@@pandorah630 sorry, I was reiterating what you said.
I loved the musical! You need to do a live action movie too!
Now that would be fun to see a live action of this
Can't wait to see this!
Its fantastic ive seen it twice the effects are truly stunning not to mention the performances
Sam loved your Frozen review 😍 it helped me when I went to see it this week. Enjoy Prince of Egypt. It's huge and heart warming with a great story, songs and cast ! Aren't we lucky in the West End right now 🙂 so many amazing shows.
@@99LordRock Ahh thanks so much, Mark! Looking forward to it ☺️
9:27 this part is so heartwarming
I get tears in my eyes whenever the little girl comes in on the movie soundtrack -- & same here!
Theatre is bacccckkkkk!!!!
What! I had no idea this was on the west end and now the run is over. Please bring this back 🙏
i watched the prince of egypt in theatre i think it was the best show i was suprised when the kiss scene came up first time seeing it in a theatre show
I had tickets to see them three months after their original opening date.... AND THEB WE ALL GOT SCREWED BY COVID. I moved back to the states cause of work and missed out completely. I was so excited for it for months and months
So precious
I’ve never seen the show as I live in Canadian exile, but the cast album is one of the most played albums on my Apple Music. Just behind Hamilton, Joseph and his Technicolored Dreamcoat (Broadway 70’s), Les Mis (several different ones), and Rent (movie soundtrack).
I never see anyone mention The Plagues though. It’s so good, and I always imagine it would be a cool performance. One Weak Link although short is also very good- though I enjoy the high priest’s (Hotep?) sinister prodding in the One Weak Link verse in the finale. “There is still time to catch them”…”This is what you came you here for”.
please record the original west end cast for those of us who can’t see it live 😭
I saw this last night, and I personally l o v e d it. I always had a problem with how the original didn't humanise and just villainised the Egyptians, but understood bc it's obviously from the bible. Seeing that the musical made the Egyptians more sympathetic was really great to see!
Watching from San Francisco I love that the UK does this for the people . They should do it the US
Wonderful. I’m a huge Anglophile and musical theater obsessive . I hope you know how special it is that your government makes it happen
I really really wish Broadway would do this
The musical is so awesome
first show I watched at the west end, and I had to see it again on my own. Hope it comes back to the west end soon ❤
You know about the proshot right
I didn't know this existed until yesterday. WHY IS THERE NO COMMERICAL FOR THIS?!?!?!
Excellent show
Bravo! They were amazing! Please come to the US! 🧡💙
beautiful!! Like to see that LIVE! :_)
I saw the show yesterday and was amazing!!!
Been listening to their album in Tidal. I fell hard for this. Damn.
Amazing 😍
To God be the Glory
Chills!
I love this song
Wish I could go see it!
I want the Prince of Egypt musical for US
I love this so so much ! I wish to see it one day soon
I will watch this live SOON. 💜🇵🇭
I was crying
I am hoping I get to watch this ❤❤❤❤
GOOSEBUMPS! 💕💗
I'm dead, it's perfect
This show is criminally underrated! I’m obsessed with the vocals, choreography, everything! Vlog on my channel!😉😂
Love this song and can't wait to see the show. Shame I kept getting distracted by the poor wig work 😪
Show Wigs are to be seen from a distance in a theatre dear.
WOW
I will make it right is such a good song :,)
Make It Right 😭
本当に素晴らしい
This Moses was on Fleabag, season 1. They met on the bus!
I wanna see this so bad!
It brakes so my heart to see Moses and remeses break up I mean seriously they were brothers
This was an amazing show. It’s such a shame it closed.
Loooool
Ok, who really needed that Tzipporah song???
❤❤❤
Liam Tamne kinda sounds like Ramin Karimloo
Is that the guy who got unfairly eliminated on The Voice UK?
Yep Liam Tamne, still not over that elimination years on 😂
@@lornasaunders8600 damn that was some foul strategy by Will
I really need to learn the proper pronunciation for the Hebrew part, I feel like I sing it wrong every time because I don’t speak that language so I don’t know if I read the words right and hearing it sung instead of spoken regularly could mess with how I perceive the pronunciation
someone typed them in the comment section for the prince of Egypt the musical Through Heavens Eyes video. I found it helpful myself.
is any of the music from the movie used?
Yes
PoE was just okay in my opinion. I think it will need a lot of work to last and stand with the best. Important parts of the story are confusing and glossed over. The change of the ending ( between Moses and Rameses) was utterly ridiculous and made no sense. The use of the dancers in some parts was great (the river) and looked ridiculous in others (the chariot race). The costumes also looked plasticy and inauthentic. I really think it needs a bigger budget to stick around. Hopefully, it will improve over the years.
What did they change with the ending?
Also, I may be wrong, but I don't think anyone in the cast is Jewish, which is pretty awful if true
@@pandate2036 I don't know if it is fair to post spoilers so I will hit the return key a few times and hope it gets hidden.
SPOILER ALERT:
As Moses parts the red sea and prepares to leave Rameses arrives as he does in the original but the two make up and become friends before he leaves, which makes no sense. Moses was indirectly responsible for the death of his son and the destruction of the temples from the plagues. The dynasty handed to him by Seti is effectively gone and he became what he always feared: the weak link in the chain. You'll remember at the end of the animation he is left screaming in anger alone and isolated on a rock? Well, that was quite fitting considering what happened. It makes no sense for them to be so buddy buddy and friendly.
@@AmandaHoranGoBookYourself oh yeah I'm definitely with you on that. Even if you don't consider the individual conflict between the two, he ordered the Egyptians to chase the Jews into the Red Sea in the hopes of destroying a people.
Also, smart idea with the paragraphs to hide the spoiler!
That's wild and completely messes up the entire story. Also agreed, the costumes look like a higher budget high school production, which is to say acceptable but surprising for a show like this.
And adding to the spoilers bit:
1. Changing the end to having them make up is not biblically accurate. Regardless of whether you believe in it or not, going back to the text that the story is based on it does not fit. The story is about the two brothers but it is not a redemption story for the Pharoah and it is not a reunion story for the brothers.
@@kl-1447 yeah I don't understand how you can change it to that. Especially when you have such a basic, and well known base for the story like the old testament. I can understand small changes, but something as significant as that, is frankly ridiculous, at least from a Jewish perspective
Romans 5:8, John 3:16
:D
🥰
RIP sad ending.
Explain?!??
@@tinaloye2014 The original film has a painful ending where the brothers no longer see each other in life. But here is another better ending. And I'm happy!
@@tzvisrael ah yeah, I saw the show and it always saddened me that moses and his brother never reconciled and I’m glad it was changed this time with footsteps in the sand
