Sophie suits Glinda's role so much. She gives it so much life and personality. I saw her perform when I went to see Wicked and hands down her version of Glinda will forever remain in my memory as one of the best Glindas I've ever seen.
How is Laura so effortless at Defying Gravity. It’s insane. 👏🏼👏🏼 I must see her do this live. I must. Also whilst I’m here big props to Maddie Firth for her debut as Elphaba yesterday at Birmingham she was awesome 🫶

What a lovely comment. I'm similar to your bf in not seeing a musical before. I was looking at booking tickets at The Apollo. Could I ask does it still feel intimate, and is the sound powerful - even though there are over 2,000 people in the auditorium? Thanks

I know the wigs are probably used and reused for other casts BUT you really should cut back the lace fronts on both wigs. The make up doesnt cover the lace well enough.
out of curiosity i went to checked out some BTS of the broadway wigs, and the lace looks long there too. when they're properly set and there's not a camera inches away from the actresses faces, the wigs look a lot better!
iirc the reason they do not remove the lace in musicals is to make sure the wig is more secure on the head, along with hair pins etc since the performers need to move around a lot. Also, unless you're in the first rows of a theatre it really isn't as noticeable as in these videos
the lace isn’t cut off because you can’t notice it when you’re watching it in a theatre and it’s far more secure. these wigs aren’t meant for close up camera work
Yeah; I’ve worked in theatre for many years and we Never had Lace fronts, we were never that important lol so I was thinking when you’re actually in a HUGE musical that builds around you’re specifications you’d think they’d fit it perfectly to your head and cut off the lace so you can express more and wrinkle your forehead for more expression! I dunno! It’s like getting your own brand new car and never taking the plastic off!
I really wish they'd kept Glinda onstage for Defying Gravity. The changed lyrics to accommodate it as a solo didn't work and were so unnecessary, since Sophie was there anyway for For Good. She had been singing three minutes ago; she couldn't stick around long enough to fill in a few lines in one more song? I admit that's a quibble, though -- the performances were amazing, both of them.
