After a year of playing I realized today that it is better to sort motifs by time added rather than by price, when I browse this same vendors in summerset day to day :)
I would also like to add that being a master crafter is very lucrative as well. Make sure you are constantly on cooldown for trait researching. I often respond to crafting requests in Zone chat and am often rewarded with fat stacks for very little investment (5pc craftable set for 150k). Don't underestimate the laziness of some people. They would rather just throw money at their problems than do it themselves.

In one of the more recent updates (past couple years) there was some voiced NPC dialogue where the character said "saltrice" and pronounced it "salt rice". It was mind blowing for me. All this time I'd been saying it in my head like "saltreese". In fact, I still do even after knowing the correct pronunciation. It's too hard to change it 😄

Thanks for the common sense advice. I always learn something from your videos. I think the key is to find a gold making method that you enjoy (or at least dislike the least). Then, instead of doing painful grinding for rare items for days, weeks, months (or years), with no guaranteed success, take the gold you made and buy them item(s).
Yes, absolutely haha! You will find that you can even rack up a decent amount of gold passively, like by selling motifs that you get when you do a vDLC pledge, or when you convert your AP to gold, which I would much rather do over farming a lot of things in this game lol
I actually did farm harrowstorms for the new motif. The first day I got 1, the second day I got 4 of them!!! Since then, my RNG has sucked, but it is possible to get multiple pages in a day! I'll admit, I'm oldish so I can't remember if I was just camped there the whole time or if I left and did other things and came back. I do know I threw a lot of pies and mudballs. Thank you for your content!!!!

Had my first decent flip yesterday. Brought a Spriggan’s 2H Maul for 250 and sold it for 50,000. I was so happy and excited that I’m starting to pick up what is and isn’t good to flip!
Hello and great video! If it hasn't been discussed yet, I do have the answer to the two motifs on the same day at 5:15. I will use Blackwood dailies as an example: you get a daily coffer for the delves, and another one for world boss. They are technically "different" with the cool down. You can identify that they are separate by the number indicated after the name of the coffer, for example: you do 6daily world bosses and 2 delve dailies in Blackwood. You will see 8 coffers, but you'll notice that one says Leyawin Reward Coffer (6), and one with a (2) at the end. Each one has its own cooldown, so make sure you are able to manage your amounts to identify which one you have already pulled a motif out of. Good luck out there!

One thing I look for on guild traders is when people accidentally post a stack of something that should have been a single. I've made tons of money buying up accidental stacks of motifs and recipes and then selling them off individually. You can tell they weren't meant to be posted as a stack because they asking price is generally the same as a single unit.
Yes! I snapped up a Chromium Plating that was accidentally listed for the Chromium Dust price! Sweet! I feel sorry for the dude who lost out, but "finders, keepers" right?

Great info as always Artie! I would like to counter your Summerset farming for Mother of Pearl tho. Farming nodes for it is a pain as they are few and far between. It's much easier to do what I do - fish!! Fishing gives you a chance to get a Pyondean bottle which, in my experience, gives a better chance of getting MoP or Clam Gall. Plus you can filet the fish for a chance of a perfect roe. Not everyone likes fishing but I found doing it in Summerset the best method of accumulating those lovely mats!
Fishing in Summerset is a stellar idea, and a much better way to farm for pearls or clam gall, that’s very true. The point was more so to suggest that there are other activities that you can do that are more profitable than just waiting around at a geyser, like farming nodes (doesn’t even have to be in Summerset - it can be anywhere!), and as you have added, even fishing in Summerset!
@@Arttea absolutely, I was merely providing another way to use your time more proactively. You get at least one bottle out of every two fishing holes in my experience and you can get more than one MoP or Clam Gall in a bottle. I regularly get 2 and have had 4 at a time on several occasions. Stock up on your worms and try it for an hour....you will thank me!
I deduced this a while back and it is unreal how many things are tied to that 20-hour cool down (nearly every "daily reward"). An easy test is rewards of the worthy containing gold uncracked transmute geode or siege of cyrodiil merits.
Cool video. The motid farmi definitely helped me. I am looking for ashlander gloves to drop to be able to do a master writ, it's only 2 coffers a day, but I did not know you can ony receive one motif every 20h. I will take this in consideration. I farm gold mostly selling raw materials. I enjoy farming, going around Daggerfall, Khenari's Roost and gathering all I can while I listen to some music, or do some side quests. I have made a total of 1,5M or so. I know this is not much but for a casual player it feels like a good amount. Was able to buy my Autumm's Gate house and I have never had a problem with money in the game. I tried to flip sometimes but I felt like I was losing my time. I only did it once where I gained +30k buying stuff in the zone chat and selling it in my guild sotre, but I am more efficient farming. I use to flip in other MMOs where the auction house is global and you do not need to talk to a large amount to NPCs to find the best deal. Good video!

You know when you first pick up a weapon on ESO you get little tutorial tips about how to equip it and use it? A little tutorial pop up bubble about cooldowns would be amazing. Would have spared me from spending a lot of time running around doing nothing :^)
Thanks for another great video. I was always curious about the coffer cooldown - so, this was very helpful info! I also wanted to chime in about my personal experience with Nighthollow style page farming and Harrowstorms. I promise this is no lie/no troll - the first day I got 4 pages off of Harrowstorm drops within 35 mins. I then farmed 2-3 hours a day for 5 days straight and got ZERO style page drops. I was able to still get some from coffers but the RNG definitely had some wicked swings for me.
I believe ya! The motifs that drop from harrowstorms are not any any cooldown (whereas the motifs that come from reward coffers are) so it’s totally possible to receive some blessed RNG and collect several pages in a short span of time - much like you did on the first day! (: Unfortunately, it’s also possible to spend a lot of time farming Harrowstorms and get nada. I know everyone’s gold making experiences and capabilities differ, but as far as mine go, it really wasn’t worth it to farm them - but I still like to test my luck if I’m ever near one! 😄
@@Arttea Just wanted to come back a few days later and tell you that I have been doing harrowstorm dalies on all 8 of my toons but I have been testing your theory with the cooldown and only opening coffers until I get a Nighthollow motif page and then I stop. Doing this method I have been stocking coffers and getting motif pages every day!

That's fucking actually enlightning. Thank you, I thought it's a some kind of myth, but never realised that I actually never get more than 1 same motif per day on account. Except year event obviously. But I bet they actually have a some kind of cooldown on good stuff. For instanse I get 3 dusts in a day. But for all entire of event I didn't have any more. Same with good motifs, I get them first days, but after a few days opening on 11 characters - they just stopped droping. And I basically have random shit for a week.
I always thought it was a myth as well! It wasn’t until the Markarth patch when I realized that it may just be true, then I did a bunch of research and became enlightened haha And yeah it wouldn’t surprise me if there were a whole bunch of other cooldowns on items and whatnot that the eso community has not yet discovered 😮
lol 10:17 "ST ElSWEYR GUILD" is a guild I'm in, and honestly, I didn't know where the hell the guild kiosk was at or that it was run by a brother Khajiit with a dreadlock. I don't do much socials in any of my guilds, I sell a lot in my guilds, and buy a lot from vivec guilds since that's where I chill, and get my dues in and stay out of any dramas. I literally have officers who annoy me by checking on me in another guild beside this to see if I'm doing great and that I should join the guild's Discord. Long story short, great video. Keep it up😉👍🏾

I tend to do multiple dailies on different characters, so for instance; Zirien does Vvardenfell and Clockwork and Ay'Anna does Murkmire and Shadowfen and Markarth ( both Markarth and Solitude Harrowstorm quests.. only need 1 storm in Markarth to count for both so I pick up the Solitude one also).. As those zones all have multiple dailies, I learned early what you just said.. I only open 1 reward coffer per day.. The next Day Syllena might do Elswyer and Dragonhold dailies and Baron do Cyro Dailies.. againn1 coffer opened per day per zone daily. ( the Dragonhold treasure chest is opened daily along with the free daily reward from the Dark Brotherhood.) I could do all the dailies every day.. but Ack..nope.. I make enough gold to fund my housing addiction.. and I don't get bored or frustrated with "the daily grind". * edited in; I daily log into all my characters ( that have the crafting passive for hireling) anyway, so opening a coffer is no problem.

Thanks for the info on the motif cooldowns. I've been playing for years first on console now on PC and never knew. I hate to think of how many coffers I wasted.
Rest assured, the motif cooldowns were introduced in Dragonhold, so all of the dailies that you had done before then were unaffected (and continue to remain unaffected) by any cooldown, but yeah I know what you mean! I was skeptical of the cooldown when I first heard about it in Dragonhold (when Southern Elsweyr came out), but after doing these new dailies in the reach I am now certain of it! I have been enlightened lmao
I definitely appreciate the info. Now I can be a bit more methodical in my farming pursuits. Also you videos have been extremely helpful especially your chest route for getting the ring of the Pale order in bangkorai.

sometimes i wish ZOS had things like recent searches and ttc since it isn't there for consoles. The recent search thing is only for whatever you put in last so can only look 1 item up quickly. Aware TTC is outside of them but they created a system that created a need for it. Kind of like the buff timers and markers and stuff were added in much later. Also things like the lorebook maps and stuff would be nice but with Zos they would charge since they already have a knack for doing that.
Ah, the recent search thing only works for one item at a time eh? That is so strange, I wonder why PC users would have access to several past search results while console players only have access to 1, that makes no sense to me :/ And I agree! Some more quality of life changes would be amazing, much like how they added multi craft!
My best flip ever came from WOW, not ESO and it was when someone, I assume, tried to put a legendary armor piece up for auction for 120k gold back in legion... But actually put it up for only 120. Sold it for about 350,000 about 3 hours later. Actually felt bad Also, great video, Arttea!
Understanding the mechanics in ESO is like voodoo or some mystic religion. There are high priests on the internet who through years of meditation, fasting and grinding have gained insight into the order of the ESO universe. Just sell crowns boys. If not that, then become an imperial (if you want 1% more gold gain) then run the vile manse for consistent gold. With the necessary things you could make around 100-500 gold per group and around 2k to 3k per run (Mini bosses will add to your bag but aren’t necessary). Be sure to fill your bag up, to sell that. Your bag sale will vary depending on your inventory space. My bag is max, and depending on my items I sell at somewhere to 12k to 14k gold. You can easily make 100k a day at least from this, if your consistent. Writs are also cool, and even more beneficial if you have multiple characters.
One of the best ESO youtubers on the site hands down, you are going to blow up. Great content. Had a question on your settings. I use the same reshade but your game seems much brighter. Do you increase the gamma or make any changes to get it a bit brighter?

Buy your merchant and banker. Just do dungeons, dailys and quest. It will collect over time time just don't spend any of it lol Also pub dungeons, delves, events, group dungeons, wb. Just go crazy. You see the location go to it not away from it.
Diamond Victory craft jobs could be a great source of income with the release of blackwood. Great work on the vid btw *algorithm blessed*. I clearly still need to work on gold farming efficiently, after spending a few hours trying to get the zaan helm page proved to be a waste (having hm achievement didn't work its magic for me)
I just noticed that I already replied 7 months ago, but having watched the video again and now added daily quests back onto my to do list, I can safely say you have a lot more luck with RNG than me. I can frequently go 25-30 coffers between getting motifs and I don't mean, I get a motif and then open a bunch of the same coffers and am surprised not to get any more motifs. I mean I can get a motif one day and it can take a week or so until I get the same motif again. I have never experienced this safely getting a motif each day, even during events.
Oh wow, that is incredibly surprising. 30 coffers in order to get a motif every day sounds absolutely insane, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anyone having that difficult of a time to get a motif - sorry to hear it man 🙏
@@Arttea Yeah, obviously it's not always that bad, but it's not uncommon for me to have long streaks without motif drops. 5 or 6 days opening 5 coffers per day without a motif is quite demoralising. I would generally prefer to buy them, but all my gold is being used elsewhere at the moment.

I get it that eso isn’t exactly a game that gives you millions of subscribers but if some content creators such as Hack the Minotaur can have like 100k with his style then it’s a crime that you’re not close to that. Your style reminds me of the channel ZNA Productions aka Eli Ostrowski, he has a pretty good sense of humor and is a pretty good teacher. He doesn’t make videos on games, but I see a similarity.
Another great informative video Arttea! As far as the Nighthollow Motif drop rate. I feel like it may be like the soul shriven skin, highest dps. My mag dk seems to have a better drop chance than other toons.

I wonder how many hidden mechanics exist like this that affect drop rates. I made a toon specifically for gathering nodes in craglorn but when I gather on my main toon I seem to have a much higher chance of dropping nirncrux. I wonder if something like the amount of researched items affects drop rates because I have all traits researched on my main and zero on my gatherer. Also I seem to get more mats from daily writs and refining mats on my toon with all traits researched.
I just did the harrowstorm daily on a bunch of my characters and would get the boxes to stock up for the daily box motif 20h cooldown one and then also get the rando ones from the harrows dropping at the same time. I got a bunch of motifs from the harrowstorms but did way less than 68 I think molag dunked his balls on you. I also do the thing where I would be cleaning the house while parking an alt at a harrow while waiting for it to spawn like you mention sort of doing other things while waiting for things to spawn to make farming less gross. For sure methods to make the grinding less noticeable.
Lmao I agree, I think my RNG was pretty terrible, but even the prospect of having terrible RNG is enough to make me consider actively farming something else for gold because then I can guarantee myself stonks. World events like HS are still BiS for AFK farming tho 😌👌
Ive been farming those harrowstorms through dailies, same with elsweyr and it’s made me a bit of cash. But geez, Ive got a lot of work to so to stack up a nice pile of cash to fund my builds with overworld sets, and eventually to gold out my favorite sets
Those world events definitely do have the potential to give ya some valuable items! You should try doing DLC dailies as well for style materials, gear and more chances at motifs! Shimmering sands can sell for around 4K on PC NA - same with Arkthzand Sprockets, and you can get a fair amount of those from doing the dailies and deconning and unwanted gear that comes from them. I would like to counter your Summerset farming for Mother of Pearl tho. Farming nodes for it is a pain as they are few and far between. It's much easier to do what I do - fish!!
Fishing gives you a chance to get a Pyondean bottle which, in my experience, gives a better chance of getting MoP or Clam Gall. Plus you can filet the fish for a chance of a perfect roe.
Not everyone likes fishing but I found doing it in Summerset the best method of accumulating those lovely mats!
Fishing in Summerset is a stellar idea, and a much better way to farm for pearls or clam gall, that’s very true. The point was more so to suggest that there are other activities that you can do that are more profitable than just waiting around at a geyser, like farming nodes (doesn’t even have to be in Summerset - it can be anywhere!), and as you have added, even fishing in Summerset!

You get at least one bottle out of every two fishing holes in my experience and you can get more than one MoP or Clam Gall in a bottle. I regularly get 2 and have had 4 at a time on several occasions.
Stock up on your worms and try it for an hour....you will thank me!
I deduced this a while back and it is unreal how many things are tied to that 20-hour cool down (nearly every "daily reward"). An easy test is rewards of the worthy containing gold uncracked transmute geode or siege of cyrodiil merits.
Cool video. The motid farmi definitely helped me. I am looking for ashlander gloves to drop to be able to do a master writ, it's only 2 coffers a day, but I did not know you can ony receive one motif every 20h. I will take this in consideration.
I farm gold mostly selling raw materials. I enjoy farming, going around Daggerfall, Khenari's Roost and gathering all I can while I listen to some music, or do some side quests. I have made a total of 1,5M or so. I know this is not much but for a casual player it feels like a good amount. Was able to buy my Autumm's Gate house and I have never had a problem with money in the game. I tried to flip sometimes but I felt like I was losing my time. I only did it once where I gained +30k buying stuff in the zone chat and selling it in my guild sotre, but I am more efficient farming. I use to flip in other MMOs where the auction house is global and you do not need to talk to a large amount to NPCs to find the best deal.

You know when you first pick up a weapon on ESO you get little tutorial tips about how to equip it and use it? A little tutorial pop up bubble about cooldowns would be amazing. Would have spared me from spending a lot of time running around doing nothing :^)
Thanks for another great video. I was always curious about the coffer cooldown - so, this was very helpful info! I also wanted to chime in about my personal experience with Nighthollow style page farming and Harrowstorms. I promise this is no lie/no troll - the first day I got 4 pages off of Harrowstorm drops within 35 mins. I then farmed 2-3 hours a day for 5 days straight and got ZERO style page drops. I was able to still get some from coffers but the RNG definitely had some wicked swings for me.
I believe ya! The motifs that drop from harrowstorms are not any any cooldown (whereas the motifs that come from reward coffers are) so it’s totally possible to receive some blessed RNG and collect several pages in a short span of time - much like you did on the first day! (: Unfortunately, it’s also possible to spend a lot of time farming Harrowstorms and get nada. I know everyone’s gold making experiences and capabilities differ, but as far as mine go, it really wasn’t worth it to farm them - but I still like to test my luck if I’m ever near one! 😄
@@Arttea Just wanted to come back a few days later and tell you that I have been doing harrowstorm dalies on all 8 of my toons but I have been testing your theory with the cooldown and only opening coffers until I get a Nighthollow motif page and then I stop. Doing this method I have been stocking coffers and getting motif pages every day!

That's fucking actually enlightning. Thank you, I thought it's a some kind of myth, but never realised that I actually never get more than 1 same motif per day on account.
Except year event obviously. But I bet they actually have a some kind of cooldown on good stuff. For instanse I get 3 dusts in a day. But for all entire of event I didn't have any more. Same with good motifs, I get them first days, but after a few days opening on 11 characters - they just stopped droping. And I basically have random shit for a week.
I always thought it was a myth as well! It wasn’t until the Markarth patch when I realized that it may just be true, then I did a bunch of research and became enlightened haha
And yeah it wouldn’t surprise me if there were a whole bunch of other cooldowns on items and whatnot that the eso community has not yet discovered 😮

lol 10:17 "ST ElSWEYR GUILD" is a guild I'm in, and honestly, I didn't know where the hell the guild kiosk was at or that it was run by a brother Khajiit with a dreadlock. I don't do much socials in any of my guilds, I sell a lot in my guilds, and buy a lot from vivec guilds since that's where I chill, and get my dues in and stay out of any dramas. I literally have officers who annoy me by checking on me in another guild beside this to see if I'm doing great and that I should join the guild's Discord. Long story short, great video. Keep it up😉👍🏾

I tend to do multiple dailies on different characters, so for instance; Zirien does Vvardenfell and Clockwork and Ay'Anna does Murkmire and Shadowfen and Markarth ( both Markarth and Solitude Harrowstorm quests.. only need 1 storm in Markarth to count for both so I pick up the Solitude one also)..
As those zones all have multiple dailies, I learned early what you just said.. I only open 1 reward coffer per day..
The next Day Syllena might do Elswyer and Dragonhold dailies and Baron do Cyro Dailies.. againn1 coffer opened per day per zone daily. ( the Dragonhold treasure chest is opened daily along with the free daily reward from the Dark Brotherhood.)
I could do all the dailies every day.. but Ack..nope.. I make enough gold to fund my housing addiction.. and I don't get bored or frustrated with "the daily grind".
* edited in; I daily log into all my characters ( that have the crafting passive for hireling) anyway, so opening a coffer is no problem.

Thanks for the info on the motif cooldowns. I've been playing for years first on console now on PC and never knew. I hate to think of how many coffers I wasted.
Rest assured, the motif cooldowns were introduced in Dragonhold, so all of the dailies that you had done before then were unaffected (and continue to remain unaffected) by any cooldown, but yeah I know what you mean! I was skeptical of the cooldown when I first heard about it in Dragonhold (when Southern Elsweyr came out), but after doing these new dailies in the reach I am now certain of it! I have been enlightened lmao

sometimes i wish ZOS had things like recent searches and ttc since it isn't there for consoles. The recent search thing is only for whatever you put in last so can only look 1 item up quickly. Aware TTC is outside of them but they created a system that created a need for it. Kind of like the buff timers and markers and stuff were added in much later. Also things like the lorebook maps and stuff would be nice but with Zos they would charge since they already have a knack for doing that.
Ah, the recent search thing only works for one item at a time eh? That is so strange, I wonder why PC users would have access to several past search results while console players only have access to 1, that makes no sense to me :/
And I agree! Some more quality of life changes would be amazing, much like how they added multi craft!

My best flip ever came from WOW, not ESO and it was when someone, I assume, tried to put a legendary armor piece up for auction for 120k gold back in legion... But actually put it up for only 120. Sold it for about 350,000 about 3 hours later. Actually felt bad

Just sell crowns boys. If not that, then become an imperial (if you want 1% more gold gain) then run the vile manse for consistent gold. With the necessary things you could make around 100-500 gold per group and around 2k to 3k per run (Mini bosses will add to your bag but aren’t necessary). Be sure to fill your bag up, to sell that. Your bag sale will vary depending on your inventory space. My bag is max, and depending on my items I sell at somewhere to 12k to 14k gold. You can easily make 100k a day at least from this, if your consistent. Writs are also cool, and even more beneficial if you have multiple characters.

Thank you for your kind words 😁 Honestly I need to update my reshade, it is causing a few of my shaders to not function properly, so that may be it. It may also be an increased gamma as I did not make any changes to the actual preset itself. Hope that helps :)

I clearly still need to work on gold farming efficiently, after spending a few hours trying to get the zaan helm page proved to be a waste (having hm achievement didn't work its magic for me)
I just noticed that I already replied 7 months ago, but having watched the video again and now added daily quests back onto my to do list, I can safely say you have a lot more luck with RNG than me. I can frequently go 25-30 coffers between getting motifs and I don't mean, I get a motif and then open a bunch of the same coffers and am surprised not to get any more motifs. I mean I can get a motif one day and it can take a week or so until I get the same motif again. I have never experienced this safely getting a motif each day, even during events.
Oh wow, that is incredibly surprising. 30 coffers in order to get a motif every day sounds absolutely insane, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anyone having that difficult of a time to get a motif - sorry to hear it man 🙏
@@Arttea Yeah, obviously it's not always that bad, but it's not uncommon for me to have long streaks without motif drops. 5 or 6 days opening 5 coffers per day without a motif is quite demoralising. I would generally prefer to buy them, but all my gold is being used elsewhere at the moment.

Another great informative video Arttea! As far as the Nighthollow Motif drop rate. I feel like it may be like the soul shriven skin, highest dps. My mag dk seems to have a better drop chance than other toons.

Just a thought, it's my best pve toon and seems to have better drops. But maybe her RNG is better 😆
I wonder how many hidden mechanics exist like this that affect drop rates. I made a toon specifically for gathering nodes in craglorn but when I gather on my main toon I seem to have a much higher chance of dropping nirncrux. I wonder if something like the amount of researched items affects drop rates because I have all traits researched on my main and zero on my gatherer. Also I seem to get more mats from daily writs and refining mats on my toon with all traits researched.

I just learned that what you find disappointing for a 6 hour grind is more money than I've ever had in this game
I just did the harrowstorm daily on a bunch of my characters and would get the boxes to stock up for the daily box motif 20h cooldown one and then also get the rando ones from the harrows dropping at the same time. I got a bunch of motifs from the harrowstorms but did way less than 68 I think molag dunked his balls on you. I also do the thing where I would be cleaning the house while parking an alt at a harrow while waiting for it to spawn like you mention sort of doing other things while waiting for things to spawn to make farming less gross. For sure methods to make the grinding less noticeable.
Lmao I agree, I think my RNG was pretty terrible, but even the prospect of having terrible RNG is enough to make me consider actively farming something else for gold because then I can guarantee myself stonks. World events like HS are still BiS for AFK farming tho 😌👌
Ive been farming those harrowstorms through dailies, same with elsweyr and it’s made me a bit of cash. But geez, Ive got a lot of work to so to stack up a nice pile of cash to fund my builds with overworld sets, and eventually to gold out my favorite sets
Those world events definitely do have the potential to give ya some valuable items! You should try doing DLC dailies as well for style materials, gear and more chances at motifs! Shimmering sands can sell for around 4K on PC NA - same with Arkthzand Sprockets, and you can get a fair amount of those from doing the dailies and deconning and unwanted gear that comes from them.
