Man I want a PA32! Great videos. You mentioned being worried about descending below 3000 after it was assigned with the 140 heading and airport direction inquiry. That altitude was assigned to start you down, and in case you did not report the field in sight, to maintain. Since you did report in sight, she cleared you for the visual and you now own to the ground, even through other airspace. Im thinking about starting my instrument rating and these are great views to see what your workload is like and hearing you talk about the approaches. It’s also helpful as an ATC. We look forward to more!

Yeah we had some discussion on this over on the FB page. Cleared for the visual means I own everything between me and the runway.

Nice video, thanks for sharing!!! Would like to see your routing on Foreflight if able, especially when navigating all the airspace near Destin. Keep up the great work!

IFR KMDQ PIGON CEW KDTS. VFR Go direct to PIGON then CEW. If on flight following they’ll hand you off to Eglin. VFR traffic usually routed down eastern corridor to Field 2 then White Point then handed to Destin tower. They’ll have you usually enter left base for 14 or right base for 32. Coming out I usually file CEW PIGON then direct but depending on traffic they often give me direct after handoff to Eglin.

I am headed to KDTS this weekend do you just file direct and then expect vectors or go CEW then KDTS? Thanks

you can if you go IFR. I just file PIGON CEW KDTS. Sometimes I get rerouted direct, sometimes I go as filed. It really doesn't matter much as the difference isnt much. PIGON CEW takes you between the MOA which if they are active they will route you around anyway.

typically 2400 on IFR approach. Level is 18.5-21" depending on how fast I want to be. Descent is usually 14.5"-15.2" depending on speed and CG/load.
