Daniel thank you for this wonderful and inspirational video. In your videos you often refer to your mentor but do you realize that you have become a mentor to the many people that watch your videos, you certainly have become one to me. Please keep these videos coming.
thanks.. really enjoyed watching with a cup of coffee.. i've only recently discovered your channel and then subsequently artrage.. i'm starting off on your numbered artrage tutorials particularly, and also any new content thats pops up.. cheers **raises empty coffee cup**
Thank you! I know sometimes the sped up time lapses are more exciting to watch but it's hard for new digital artists to keep track of what's going on in those videos. It's definitely a balance. I'm always trying to figure out how to find that middle path. Thank you for the encouragement!
You are a fantastic teacher, thank you for uploading content like this as well as the "Seeing Like an Artist" video! As someone who cannot afford art school, I've been trying to self-learn through RUclips. I've been on a binge of art and digital art related content. I learned more watching your channel and just watching your painting process than I have from any other video in the past 2 weeks. Your channel really deserves far more attention than it gets. Just my two cents, but I think a facecam will really help your channel grow. I personally don't care about this, but I think that's just part of the formula for RUclips success. Pretty much any popular art "influencer" I have been watching either use a facecam or cut to their face while talking. There's probably something to be said about connecting more with the audience when the speaker is visible to them. I don't mind simply listening, as I personally find anything else to be distracting, but it would likely help you get the views you deserve. That said, have you considered doing beginner style tutorials? Things like creating a color palette, or the basics of oil painting like creating values or layering? Also would love to see more Rebelle content! There don't seem to be many creators making tutorial for that program.
I deeply appreciate all of the things you've just said. Thank you for the insights about RUclips and viewership. Thank you for the amazing kind words and reflections on other interests. It fills my heart to know that this content is meaningful to people. I am so excited to hear all the things you said. I definitely agree about a FaceCam... It would be helpful. I will try and implement that tonight when I do some recording. I will also make an effort to do more rebelle tutorial content. If you have anything else that's on your mind please let me know! Everything you said seems so well reasoned!
@@DanielIbanez I'm glad my words resonated with you, and thank YOU for making this content! Seriously, I think I would be lost trying to learn this type of thing completely on my own without knowledgeable creators like you uploading. For example, after watching your "Seeing Like an Artist" video I've completely reconsidered the composition of the current project I'm working on. Funnily enough like you mentioned on one of your videos, I've gotten accustomed to just drawing portraits of pretty girls, which while they can be fun studies and nice to look at, lack any real substance or direction to them. I think however I can introduce something more interesting by changing the horizon line of my piece now... Anyways, since you asked, outside of the beginner stuff (anatomy tutorials seem to be popular on RUclips as well) and Rebelle content, I would love to see more videos of studies on artists like this one. I discovered Joaquin Sorolla from this video, and wow I really love his work and hearing your take on it and why it is so visually interesting and appealing. Other digital art creators like Ethan Becker or samedoesarts do videos similar to this, where they break down another artist's style and techniques and why it works and how to apply it to your own work. I find these types of videos to be very insightful. And they are coming from more of a digital background whereas yours is traditional, so I think it would be interesting to hear your take on it. As an example I'd love to see you react to Mark Tennant's art. I am not sure if you're familiar with him, but his oil painting has gotten quite popular on Instagram because of it's modern feel. It almost feels a bit abstract because of his blocky and simple brush strokes but he's able to capture the essence of a modern smartphone image with the lighting and ambience. But I'm sure there is more to it which is why it would be awesome to hear your thoughts on how he paints his subject matter. Kloysius is another digital artist I really adore, her work feels like a very satisfying blend of digital and traditional as she still retains a very painterly look and feel to her digital creations. Anyways, that's all, I could keep going on and on so I'll stop myself here. Would love to see any type of videos like the ones I mentioned. Thanks for hearing me out and good luck with the facecam implementation!
Great Job! I also did a painting based on that reference photo a while ago. Such a great base to work with! Interesting to see how other artists interpret the same image in a different way.
you should one day do a kind of tutorial on how to color light, or your own view about colors and light, I think you have a unique understanding compared to what's out in youtube today.
Hi Daniel your videos are excellent. Can I just say that this review video was far to fast for me, I had no idea what tools you were using or what the update provided. Sorry just way to fast few explanations, so I found it frustrating. Having said that your videos are real gems. Thank you.
@@DanielIbanez ok, clicking the link to your patreon page in the description actually takes you to a '404 page not found' error page on patreon.. there's hidden characters in the link.. its no big deal ;)

That is a very humbling statement! Thank you. I don't know what to say, but I will do my best to share anything I learn. Thank you for the kindness!

Cheers back to you!!!! Best wishes and many many thanks for the kind words!
From Madrid Greetings and thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you! I am happy to be back!
Liked the method of teaching because I can exactly see what you do. There are so many show-off demo's online that just teach me nothing.

Thank you for the feedback! I will make sure to be more clear about what I am doing!
ps. looks like you have some embedded control characters in your pareon link
I don't know what that means but I will try to fix that! Thank you!
