As for me, one of the main disadvantages of cars 3 DTW is that no updates are added to it (while for cars 2, updates were released a few days after the cartoon). As it is, I think this is an underrated car game.
@@ShadedCollector Yes. I think we could add a couple more veteran racers (Cal, Murray and Todd), 3-4 racers from TH and racers new gen (Danny, Ryan, Chase and Bubba).
@@ShadedCollectorit was a good game honestly it was like cars 2 the video game because it was great and really nostalgic to me for how long I ever had it on my Nintendo switch
The first Cars game had so much love put into it. The third one felt like it was made over a couple weekends by the janitor. I spent so much time playing the original. The new one I barely touched...
The original was definitely a great game. It’s unfortunate that we never got a return to that type of game style, but I guess considering the circumstances, I’m glad that a final game was even released
A few things I always loved about the first game is how it expanded on the world of the cars franchise and having big drivable hub worlds. Maaaan it was such an absolute banger of a licensed game
One thing I didn’t like about this was the lack of characters and weapon customization during battle races and takedown missions. In Cars 2 it was Ammunition Round (Survival, Attack, Hunter, Battle Race) Engine-nuity (Battle Race) Going Ballistic (Battle Race) Hit and Missiles (Attack, Survival) Heavy Car-Tillery (Attack) Heavy Hitters (Survival, Hunter) Missiles and Mines (Hunter) Arena and Disruptor same as Hunter. If we had a large roster of characters from DLC like Cars 2 had this would have made the game more fun. I did enjoy the different cups and master events though.
Cars 1 was my first ever videogame on the Playstation 2 I played Cars 2 with some friends at their house and loved it Cars 1 and 2 will always be my childhood favorite movies
My dumbass for some reason decided to platinum this game 😭 Out of all the cars games i’ve played, I think it isnt the worst, but it is okay. The first cars game however brings back some deep memories…
That definitely does take some time to get all of those trophies. It took me a long time to get the Stars All Around achievement, which is probably the most time consuming one. The original Cars game was definitely a great game, I’m glad that you have memories with it
The plat for this is absolutely s hard hands down. There are some skill checks that I either do not understand at all and there r some that r stupidly hard. Also stars all around trophy is so time consuming I may as well do it last, and series take a stupid amount of time.
I feel like it was because they wanted to honor the original voice actor for Doc, who sadly died before the Cars 2 movie. Disney didn’t replace him, and instead made it so that Doc had died in between movies to honor him. I feel like they didn’t bring him back in this game for the same reason. I do get your point though, that’s why I feel like it was a missed opportunity for Bill to not be playable even though he was fully modeled
Because the voice actor for doc died like super long ago, before cars 2 released. if they did add him and replaced his voice actor that shit wouldve been disrespectful as hell
Non playable characters that show up in races are nothing new in cars games. It goes back as early has the first one by THQ. If you're going to ask cars 3 that question then ask the same for literally every other cars game
For me, the problem with Cars 3 racing to win was that the gameplay was very similar to Cars 2, with nothing very new, at most the turbo and lights customization, and the Thomasville playground. One detail I remembered, this game does not have a PC version
I think that’s more a franchise thing with not being on PC because only the original game and mater-nationals are on PC (atleast on Steam) any game after is Console or Mobile exclusive
My thing with Cars 3, was that there were only 20 characters. Cars 2 had a huge roster of characters old and new, hence my favorite Cars game apart from Race-o-rama.
@@MTC-hy6ig I didn't say it was bad. I enjoyed Cars 3 from my time playing it. I just think Cars 2 is better content wise. But you are correct, a minor flaw indeed.
FINALLY! A video about Cars 3: Driven To Win that isn’t just mindless hate towards it for superficial reasons that don’t actually effect the gameplay. I never thought I’d see the day. I’m not some sort of super fan of the game, it’s my second least favorite mainline Cars title, I just think the amount of hate is unwarranted (especially compared to the warm reception of, in my opinion, the inferior Cars 2: The Video Game). The reasons you listed are all fair points against the game, but people tend to over-exaggerate these issues and claim this game is the worst thing they’ve ever seen, which I think is completely unreasonable. Like you had said yourself in the video, despite this game’s flaws, it’s still pretty solid. People completely neglect the faster and smoother gameplay of this game compared to Cars 2, the better and more diverse tracks, the great new modes, and all the other improvements made to the actual moment-to-moment gameplay. I can speak from experience, as someone with 420 hours on this game (not proud btw), that this game is a lot more responsive than Cars 2, but people ignore that and instead call out the game’s flaws that don’t effect the gameplay in any major way and the team couldn’t even help considering the circumstances this game was made in. As for this game’s “biggest mistake” I think it’s actually a positive about the game. If anything, I felt having to play some sort of campaign mode was more tedious and repetitive than Cars 3’s approach of having an achievement-based progression system. The C.H.R.O.M.E. Missions in Cars 2 like to repeat tracks a lot and SPAM certain modes in the late-game (looking at you, survival). Compare that to Cars 3, where you can really do anything you want so long as you keep getting skill checks (which you would probably just get during regular gameplay). That way, the game doesn’t force you to do the same tracks or keep playing a mode you didn’t like. You could just do the things you like in the game and gradually unlock skill checks to progress. But to each their own. I see genuine advantages that Cars 2 has but I still end up preferring Driven To Win just cuz I think its advantages are stronger. And it’s fine if it’s the other way around for you, of course. I just don’t think the amount of hate is justified for what is ultimately a pretty solid kart racer, better than most games of its type, honestly. So it’s a breath of fresh air to see someone actually view this game from a reasonable lens and not just repeat the same-old tired complaints we’ve all heard by now. In both videos I’ve watched from your channel, I didn’t necessarily 100% agree with you, but I still enjoyed the videos cuz they both brought up good points and were actually well-put together and I think that’s a sign of a great content creator. Can’t wait to see what else you have in store. Keep it up man! 👍
Thank you for your comment and support! I think that all of the hate this game gets is undeserved too. You honestly have a good point about the Cars 2 level structure. Sometimes it would force you to do certain missions that weren’t exactly very fun (I never really liked survival either). I guess it just comes down to preference, if you like to choose what you want to do, or prefer the game to have it ready for you. I think it’s always nice to hear different opinions about games (as long as it’s not mindless hate without reason) and I feel like hearing your perspective has always been interesting. You always have some solid points, and it helps me see games from another point of view. Thanks again for your comment!
A little fact: this game was published by WB Games (since avalanche was acquired by WB) Which while not to crazy (since Disney licenses IP’s to studios like EA) It makes it another time both Disney and WB worked together.
I absolutely loved this game when it came out. One of the few games I got all the achievements for, without even meaning to. I ended up having a solid 90 hours before stopping playing, but I'm considering returning and playing through it again
I used to own this kids magazine that had a hot or not section. Hot was DTW, Neutral was Fidget spinners (They quoted that they can't get enough of them) and Not was Creepers (from Minecraft). Nowadays, DTW and Fidget spinners are Not. Creepers I'd say are neutral
That’s pretty interesting, it makes sense that this game would have been pretty popular among kids initially. I guess it really would change like that over time
@@NWRStudios23 Well, I originally intended to move away from Cars content, but I still feel like there are some more videos that I want to do involving Cars. I actually experimented with gaming videos on my RUclips shorts, so I might do some long form videos like those in the future
I think a good way to sum up the issues of this game is it’s not what it did but what it didn’t do. I really wish the game revolved around Cruz’s rookie season to coincide with the movie. Such a shame the game had to be rushed to meet a deadline although I’ll always be greatful for Cam Spinner and Rich Mixons inclusions as it gave us small glimpses of their personalities.
Yeah, I feel like a lot of people wanted something along those lines. It is really unfortunate that something like that never came to be, it would have been like one of the first 3 games. I’m still glad we got this game, it was released at a point where movie games were becoming less common, and considering the development circumstances, I think that what we got was pretty solid. Also what you mentioned about the game giving some of the next gens more personality was something I guess I never really thought about. We would have had no idea what they were like if it wasn’t for this game, so that’s honestly a plus.
We should have gotten characters like Luigi (who was already confirmed before being scrapped), Sterling (because he did have a big role in the 3rd film), Cal Weathers (to finish off the original four veterans), and Danny Swervez (because at least Jeff Gorvette was able to get into the Cars 2 video game).
Cars 2 the Videogame compensated their lack of free roam and paint jobs with a huge character roster, Driven to Win failed by providing small amounts of both characters and their 'free roam' playzone
I personally feel cars 3 could've been a lot better if it played like the cars THQ games and if it had a story mode put together I do agree with your other points though also their biggest mistake IMO was porting this game to PS3 and not adding luigi
Yeah, I bet we all wish it could have been like the original game I’ve personally never seen the PS3 version, but I actually think there were unused Chick’s Picks lines that talked about Luigi, so I think he was intended to be in the game at some point
@@ShadedCollector think of the ps3 version like this take the wii U version but severely downgrade it and dull down the colors so hard that the game looks ugly

And less confettis in the old gen versions compared to the next gen have more of them in the results screen after the race ends.
@@ShadedCollectorI actually own the PS3 version of this game. Although I will say it isn't as good as the PS4 or Switch versions per se. It isn't really all that bad tbh.
Hey dude! I just got all the achievements like a week ago and actually thought it was pretty good, then again I haven't played any of the others. Regardless good video man :)
Honestly cars 3 driven to win could have been a free roam game like cars the video game-cars race o ruma. Having it the same gameplay as cars 2 bothers me because it work well for cars 2 because it was spy type battle racer game. But cars 3 driven to win was about McQueen getting preparing to face Jackson storm and having games modes like battle race makes no sense to me. They could have added different modes that worked and added back customization for McQueen like in race o ruma but a lot more customizable.
I played the Cars 2 kid back when I was a kid and played Cars 3 driven to win game back when I was younger. In fact, I still play the game. I like it because it is just a racing game. I find the game kind of satisfying to play, honestly, which is the reason I enjoy it.
I've been replaying this game recently, I think it's fine honestly, just a nice fun cars game to play when I want on my PS5. I also love some of the dialogue they say to each other and the random things that can happen during a race. Like at one point I tried to bash lightning as mater and I missed and just rolled over on my side and hit the wall. Still will always love the originals but this was pretty fun to me. I do hope one day we will get a return to the old ones.
My main problem with this is the battle mode tied to skill checks. 7/10 times id get bombs intead of a nullifier to destroy spike strips. Other times id always be in first so i cant steal turbo from an enemy with the syphon. And the magnetic mine bashing is absurd to me.
MAN, it has been a long time since I played Cars 3: Driven to Win. I played it on the Wii U. How can it be the worst? I enjoyed this game. To me, there is nothing bad about this game. The voice actors were replaced, that's true. What is the voice actor strike that lasted from 2016 to 2017? I want to know. The Wii U doesn't even have a problem with how it looks. How can we listen to the scrapped music in this game on RUclips? There are not many characters in this game. This mistake doesn't feel like a mistake to me. Repetition sure is boring. Same track, different game mode. I don't hate Cars 3: Driven to Win. It is a solid game. This is my opinion, and if you disagree with it, that's fine, because we are all entitled to our own opinions, and simply put, this is my thoughts on your statement on why Cars 3: Driven to Win was hated. I just explained this carefully and calmly. I hope you understand this, and I wish you a good day.
While I don’t think that Cars 3 Driven to Win it’s the worst game, I made this video with the intention of explaining why so many people dislike it. If you enjoyed it, that’s great! I’ve just seen other videos out there that make the game sound absolutely terrible, without really going into the reasons why. I made this video to try and understand those opinions, even though I like the game. I’m glad that you enjoyed the game, and I’m sorry if the video was a bit misleading for you
I’m currently playing the Wii U version myself and be Lightning a lot and it looks great on Wii U with some FPS dips but not all the time and looks better than my Xbox 360 version but that one has 4 players.
6 months of development!? Now I understand why the game seems rushed especially because of reusing cars 2 tracks and why the graphics are dated to 2017 and they simply took the gameplay from the previous game as I played all the main Cars games I analyze Cars 3 Drivin to win as a poorly planned game because they could have done something "better" compared to the final game, I always look at this game and it disappointed me a lot after having played Cars 2 I thought that They didn't give a shit about the game, but apparently not, the game has its few qualities but in my opinion I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone who has never played it
I thought that it was unfortunate that it had to be rushed, I wonder how the game would have been if their plans and ideas were fully realized. I still feel like what they did within the time crunch was pretty good
I grew up playing the Car 2 game. It was one of my favorite games on Wii and is one of my favorite kart racers, only being beat by Mario Kart Wii and Ring Racers. I didn’t get Driven to Win when it launched but I eventually got it on Wii U a couple of years ago and thought it was alright. Not better than Cars 2 because Cars 2 had more variety and I (hot take) liked the spy aesthetic especially in the game, but gameplay-wise Driven to Win is mostly just more Cars 2 with HD graphics (again, played the Wii version), which is fine by me. The new voices threw me off when I first heard them, especially Lightning and Chick’s since I’m so used to the original VAs. They aren’t bad and you do get used to them, but it still would have been better if the VAs, at least Owen Wilson as Lightning, played their roles. Oh and you can race as Mack. So actually disregard everything I said earlier. This is peak gaming
Even tho Cars 3 Driven to win is my least favorite of the franchise, I still did enjoy it quite a lot, specially back in 2017, the locations for the races looked really good and were mostly very inmersive. I feel like as you said, the game had to be rushed to coincide with the movie's release and the repetitivity of the events combined with how they felt mostly unrelated to the story left us kinda wishing for more. The fact that they didnt make any updates or DLCs for the game really killed it. And finally... Why didn't they include Luigi?? They made guido playable but no Luigi, I believe some voice lines for him were found in the files of the game, or atleast voice lines of other characters refering to him were in there.
I didn't knew that it sucked that much,i wanted to play it once but when i found out Cal Weathers wasn't there while Bobby and brick were there,i decided to not play it lmao
Huh, I never knew that there were major problems with this game and that people didn’t really like it. Then again, I was a lot younger at the time and didn’t really care. I’ve only watched people play it and never actually got to play it for myself, but to me, it just looks like how Cars 2 and racing in Disney Infinity was, so I just thought it looked cool. Good video. Edit: also, I didn’t know that this game came out during the first video game actors strike. I guess that explains why they sounded different in the game. Oh well, the more you know.
as an avid Cars fan for the longest time since I was 5 years old, I found this game to be disappointing. my first Cars game was Mater-National and it was awesome, then my cousins from my Dad’s side gave me the Cars game for the Wii and I loved it as much as Mater-National. then when Cars Race-O-Rama came out, I loved it, especially since I found out that WWE Legend “Macho Man” Randy Savage (R.I.P.) voiced El Machismo, one of my favorite characters in the game, along with Stinger. when the Cars 2 game was released, I was super excited and I played it with my peers and some of my friends at my apartment or the Youth Center I went to, or even at school. then finally when Cars 3 came out, I was a little excited, especially since it was coming out on the Nintendo Switch along with Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PS4, but after seeing the walkthroughs and play throughs here on RUclips, I felt I was left with disappointment… I feel like that the reasons I was disappointed with the Cars 3: Driven To Win game was either because of the story mode being confusing as hell, the gameplay being the same format as the Cars 2 game just less fun and exciting, or the fact the voice actors were different in the Cars 3 game and felt off and didn’t have that same feel as the previous Cars games… I feel like I would’ve loved the Cars 3 game if they had a better story mode and had kept the same voice actors from the movie.
Cars 3 as a racing game on the 360 was my first racing game and it was special to me because of that and my quest was to get every trophy but i figured it was good not great wish it got updated so it dont feel boring especially the playgrounds and the track which are too easy by the way
i really want another cars game with a lot of characters this time, including next gens, cars 3 and 1 piston cup racers. there should be a piston cup progression system alongside with the main story game where you race in different seasons with the 3 classes of cars: cars 1 piston cup racers, 3 and nextgens (similar to how nascar games work) tho this is just a dream :(
That sounds like it would be a really good idea for a Cars 3 game. It’s unfortunate that we never got anything really involving the Piston Cup in the actual game. The original game’s involvement with the Piston Cup really made it special, and it’s unfortunate that they didn’t return to it
@@MTC-hy6ig I know, it just feels different. This game was rushed and stuff like that, I may get it in the future. But in no way will it have the same load as the first teo
Basically it was a heavily rushed Cars 2 clone reusing animations, music, etc. Added nothing new apart from the best lap challenge, took away the voice cast replacing it with a new one that sounded nothing like the characters, and made good menu and UI designs along with some great animation, only to be completely scrapped.
I actually do have the game on switch and i love it to hell and back, god i wish more people would understand the magic the greatness this game have. even with it downside.
For me it was that buttfuck car roster. Cars 2 had a huge variety of characters to choose from but in this one theres only like 5 familiar faces, 1 which is mack for some reason then every other character are randoms or had a small importance in the third movie (excluding jackson & cruz). And Ramone has a random paint job. Im happy i never picked up this game bcs i wouldve been let down so badly
I don't think Cars 3 Driven to Win is the worst Cars game, but it's not the best either. In fact, what I'm trying to say is that I love the three Cars games in the way they are, and I enjoyed every single minute of all of them. It's so sad the internet is getting deeply harsh, nowadays, even with smaller RUclips channels. But, at the end of the day, we just love videogames, after all! 😊
In the development part there are a lot of mistakes, the game was never supposed to be a part of disney infinity (confirmed by devs themselves) and the game had 2 years of development and was supposed to have 3 but when disney closed the company, warner bros bought it and disney agreed with them to let avalanche finish the game, the development was going very badly tho and also some music wasnt unused, it was warner bros music that just somehow ended up in the files, maybe just as placeholders
I see what you mean, but I’ll try to explain what I was saying in the video. By “the early stages of development” I meant very early, before they even had a clear idea of what the game was going to be. I can’t find anything online saying what you described. Also just because Warner Bros made the music, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t unused. When I was doing research for this video, there was a lot of different stories and information involving this game. I didn’t want to spread information that wasn’t true, so I decided to keep the whole Warner Bros situation out of the video. Thank you for your comment, I hope this gives you a better understanding of that segment of the video
@@ShadedCollector the game was ALWAYS planned as a tie in to the movie, people think it was suppposed to be disney infinity because of the early development video where they used infinity models because the actual models werent done yet
Maybe it was before development even started, or just a very early idea for the game. I’m sorry if I said something that was false in the video, but I guess I would like to discover the truth. Maybe since a lot of articles referred to Avalanche as the developer of Disney Infinity, maybe that eventually got mixed up with the game and became a rumor online In another review of Cars 3, there’s a top comment from a highly trusted Cars RUclipsr that talks about this exact subject. Maybe you could take a look at it or reply to it so we can figure this out
In my opinion, cars 3 driven to win could have been better than being a cars 2 the videogame remake, here's the point, disney could just make cars 3 d.t.w being a game with open world, paintjobs for characters instead of being an extra slot character(take for example lightning mcqueen and fabulous lightning mcqueen),and the last but not least,a TRUE story mode, not that shit of "race to beat different opponents" i mean like man, that's not how a cars game must be done, this is why cars the videogame, mater national and race'o'rama are the goat
If everything you mentioned was added in plus online gameplay this game could've been the perfect rival to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I enjoy this game and clocked out 355 hours combined on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch and for a game that was on a time crunch its good but much like a bunch of people said it could've been better. Adding additional DLC like the Next Gens would've been a good way for this game too make some additional money along with expanding the roster of the game. I agree with the takes on this video but If this game had Online gameplay at the least I'd have far more hours on this game as there be something to do other than play the same races over again. Overall I'd give Driven to Win a 7.5 out of 10 because Its a very enjoyable game that is great for the time crunch it was worth but there are some thing that could've made this game better.
I played Cars 3 Driven to Win since 2017 when it was released, I liked the racing but what I don't like is that the list of characters is so disappointing compared to other Cars games, they added a Mate the Great who didn't appear in Cars 3 and They played stupid Cars 2 clues that didn't show up either.
I played the demo once. Never touched it since. My issue is everything feels wrong. It really does feel like a Disney infinity game. Cars 2 had more passion, sure it was a kart racer but it at least had stuff to it. Tho I didn’t really like cars 2. Cars 3 also had Mario kart 8 delux to fight against. And frankly it’s just not as fun as Mario kart, there was no way it could compete. Even if you take that away it still lacked. If it was made for ps4 and Xbox one, imagine if they went back to basics and made an open world game, but you can select the character you free roam as. With different abilities. Higher graphics. Unlockable skins for each character. I remember as a kid playing mater national spending days trying to get monster McQueen and the feeling I had when I did how badass I thought it was. I think cars needed/s a game like this. We probably won’t get another one now tho due to sales and that’s all companies see.
We never played the other cars games. But we are huge cars fans. I have a massive collection of diecasts, and we play this game almost every day still. Its funny because recently there have been a lot of channels popping up discussing the diecasts and this very game. DO you think a new film and possible game is on the cards?
If Toy Story 5 is happening, I think it’s definitely a possibility. I would hope to get a video game along side it, but I’m not sure if that would happen at this point. I’m not sure where they would take the franchise, I feel like Cars 3 is a fitting end. I hope that if a Cars 4 did happen, they wouldn’t do anything to ruin anything from the other movies.
@@ShadedCollector But Cars 3 kinda wrapped things up nicely, didn't it? I'm curious where they could go with a Cars 4. Wait.. Cars 3 most hated Cars game? Really? Well at least you gave a proper explanation for it and clarified that this is merely people being too harsh towards the game. Would be nice if someone made some kind of mod or hack for the game that adds the missing content with some extras to make up for its short comings, since we have some of the resources of said missing content.
I think that would be pretty neat, it would be interesting to see that stuff in the game. While I don’t think it’s a bad game, I made this video to try and explain why a lot of people don’t like it.
the thing bothers me about is they never released it on PC, i get that the whole multiplayer thing being remade/removed for one system wasn't that necessary to some but man i kind of wish i played it (if its not expensive ofc) while i do think this game is...fine, the voice acting, short size of playable characters and a big lack of story mode didn't do any favors.
I guess I’ve never really thought about why they didn’t release it on PC. I guess the Cars 2 games wasn’t exactly the best on PC, so maybe that is a reason for it.

Okay okay this is NOT a bad game lets get this out of the way and i genuinely don't understand why people would say this is bad for any reason other than shit like not enough characters
The reason why I hate cars 3 video game so much is because of cars 2. I only got cars 2, I only wanted cars 2 games bc of the cars 1 video games, how amazing, how good they are. So I was so excited to get my hands on cars 2 and when I got it I was so disappointed. I was only a kid back then but the disappointment is still something I feel to this day, cars 2 was so trash compared to the first games. And when I saw cars 3 I didn’t even bother with it. This might actually be the first video of cars 3 that I’ve actually watched. But I’ll never play the game tho. I’ll only play cars 1 games
I didn't like the third one because I thought it was almost completely the same as the 2nd one, which I also disliked, mostly cuz I thought of it as a more annoying Mario Kart. I would've preferred the more open world game as the ones from the first movie. I also had the Wii U version of the game, and I remembered the colours being very dim.
Yeah, it did use a lot of things from the Cars 2 game. A lot of people would have preferred an open world game like the first three. The colors being dim could have been something to do with your TV settings.

Arena and Disruptor same as Hunter.
If we had a large roster of characters from DLC like Cars 2 had this would have made the game more fun. I did enjoy the different cups and master events though.
Cars 1 was my first ever videogame on the Playstation 2
I played Cars 2 with some friends at their house and loved it
Cars 1 and 2 will always be my childhood favorite movies
I like the game more rather the movies, its my opinion tho
My dumbass for some reason decided to platinum this game 😭
Out of all the cars games i’ve played, I think it isnt the worst, but it is okay. The first cars game however brings back some deep memories…
That definitely does take some time to get all of those trophies. It took me a long time to get the Stars All Around achievement, which is probably the most time consuming one. The original Cars game was definitely a great game, I’m glad that you have memories with it
@@ShadedCollector yeah, the stars all around was the last one for me to get lol. The old cars game was a great game as well.
fr
The plat for this is absolutely s hard hands down. There are some skill checks that I either do not understand at all and there r some that r stupidly hard. Also stars all around trophy is so time consuming I may as well do it last, and series take a stupid amount of time.
Why Doc Hudson is fully modeled in the intro, yet is not a playable character will always be baffling to me lol
@@jayshunsfm4311 Guido was playable without any voice, though.
@@MTC-hy6igStill, only one spot left in the character roster. It made me itch everytime I saw it.
Like it said in the video it was originally supposed to be apart of Disney infinity which directly used cars two driving mechanics
My thing with Cars 3, was that there were only 20 characters. Cars 2 had a huge roster of characters old and new, hence my favorite Cars game apart from Race-o-rama.
A lack of characters doesn't make it bad. Its a very minor flaw if you ask me
@@MTC-hy6ig I didn't say it was bad. I enjoyed Cars 3 from my time playing it. I just think Cars 2 is better content wise. But you are correct, a minor flaw indeed.
Something that bugs me about this game are the character models they just look worse compared to Cars 2 because of the lack of shine to them
That's not the models. That's the muted lighting.
they didn't even add Cal weathers which is weird
Or Tim Treadless for that matter
My Siblings and I got an early version to play for a Kids magazine, and honestly not much to write home about, it was just funny to race with Guido.

I guess it really would change like that over time
Finally your back with videos
Yes I am!
@@ShadedCollector but I thought you taking a break from making cars videos for a little bit
@@NWRStudios23 Well, I originally intended to move away from Cars content, but I still feel like there are some more videos that I want to do involving Cars. I actually experimented with gaming videos on my RUclips shorts, so I might do some long form videos like those in the future
@@ShadedCollector ok
I personally feel cars 3 could've been a lot better if it played like the cars THQ games and if it had a story mode put together
I do agree with your other points though
also their biggest mistake IMO was porting this game to PS3 and not adding luigi
Yeah, I bet we all wish it could have been like the original game
I’ve personally never seen the PS3 version, but I actually think there were unused Chick’s Picks lines that talked about Luigi, so I think he was intended to be in the game at some point
@@ShadedCollector think of the ps3 version like this

And less confettis in the old gen versions compared to the next gen have more of them in the results screen after the race ends.
@@ShadedCollectorI actually own the PS3 version of this game. Although I will say it isn't as good as the PS4 or Switch versions per se. It isn't really all that bad tbh.
Hey dude! I just got all the achievements like a week ago and actually thought it was pretty good, then again I haven't played any of the others. Regardless good video man :)
I’m glad that you enjoyed the game, thank you!
Also Mater-Nationals
I didn't know they still released games for the Xbox 360 after 2014. That last one I know of was The Crew 1.
OMG they remade the radiator springs hunter theme? I love it so much, so unfortunate it didn't make it in cars 3
It should have been a spiritual successor to the very first cars game. By Ranbow Studios. Open world, tie in story, all the Piston Cup racers.
I can tell that when I played on PS3 I didn't had Faboulus Lightning McQueen, he was on races but I couldnt play him

Fun fact in cars 3 driven to win it’s a very useless button but the left joystick turns the headlights on or off
My main problem with this is the battle mode tied to skill checks.

That’s good! I’m glad that there are still some people playing the WiiU version
The video game acting strike? Huh that explains why all the voice cast didn’t reprise their roles.
Yeah, especially McQueen. What did they do to ma car?

This is probably one of my favorite games because Cars was my childhood movies and I also played this game
I miss playing this game on my wii u. I remember playing it during summer 2017.
Cal and the King should have been playable
I still feel like what they did within the time crunch was pretty good
@@ShadedCollector If I'm not mistaken the game would have an open world
@@ShadedCollector true, I would love to see the game with more quality and with more characters and an open world unfortunately that didn't happen
What’s weird is this game got a ps3 and Xbox 360 release even though those 2 consoles were discontinued by then
To me, the Disney Infinity Cars Play Set was a better Cars game then the Cars 3 game itself.
this game is cars 2 with bridal makeup
Cars 3: Driven To Win was so lazily made.
I remember playing that game that was hard but it was a lot of fun
I miss the good ole open world cars games, that’s what makes it fun, shame cars 3 didn’t have that.
i like the cars 2 and then cars 3 games they are so good the cars 2 has even cutscenes from different places from the movie
I'm surprised Sterling wasn't added into the game or Dusty and Rusty or heck, Cal Weathers
as an avid Cars fan for the longest time since I was 5 years old, I found this game to be disappointing.
my first Cars game was Mater-National and it was awesome, then my cousins from my Dad’s side gave me the Cars game for the Wii and I loved it as much as Mater-National.
then when Cars Race-O-Rama came out, I loved it, especially since I found out that WWE Legend “Macho Man” Randy Savage (R.I.P.) voiced El Machismo, one of my favorite characters in the game, along with Stinger.
when the Cars 2 game was released, I was super excited and I played it with my peers and some of my friends at my apartment or the Youth Center I went to, or even at school.
then finally when Cars 3 came out, I was a little excited, especially since it was coming out on the Nintendo Switch along with Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PS4, but after seeing the walkthroughs and play throughs here on RUclips, I felt I was left with disappointment… I feel like that the reasons I was disappointed with the Cars 3: Driven To Win game was either because of the story mode being confusing as hell, the gameplay being the same format as the Cars 2 game just less fun and exciting, or the fact the voice actors were different in the Cars 3 game and felt off and didn’t have that same feel as the previous Cars games… I feel like I would’ve loved the Cars 3 game if they had a better story mode and had kept the same voice actors from the movie.
Cars 3 as a racing game on the 360 was my first racing game and it was special to me because of that and my quest was to get every trophy but i figured it was good not great wish it got updated so it dont feel boring especially the playgrounds and the track which are too easy by the way
i really want another cars game with a lot of characters this time, including next gens, cars 3 and 1 piston cup racers. there should be a piston cup progression system alongside with the main story game where you race in different seasons with the 3 classes of cars: cars 1 piston cup racers, 3 and nextgens (similar to how nascar games work)
tho this is just a dream :(
That sounds like it would be a really good idea for a Cars 3 game. It’s unfortunate that we never got anything really involving the Piston Cup in the actual game. The original game’s involvement with the Piston Cup really made it special, and it’s unfortunate that they didn’t return to it
@@ShadedCollector yeah really true. a huge indie cars game would be game changing for the cars franchise

For me, this is the best game I've ever played due to it being my childhood.
I really like Cars 3 the game it is very fun to play with friends and family ❤
Maybe since a lot of articles referred to Avalanche as the developer of Disney Infinity, maybe that eventually got mixed up with the game and became a rumor online

Cars 3 missing 84 percent of the characters from CARS 2.
Wow!! Its almost like it was made for cars 3!!! 🤦♂️
They really should have given some more Time... It doesn't have to be on the exact same day the movie releases I hate it when people try to do that
I played Cars 3 Driven to Win since 2017 when it was released, I liked the racing but what I don't like is that the list of characters is so disappointing compared to other Cars games, they added a Mate the Great who didn't appear in Cars 3 and They played stupid Cars 2 clues that didn't show up either.
This is my brothers favourite video game of all time
Imagine playing as the 4 tuner cars as race
How do you auto drift on all arrows? I go too fast or too slow. What’s the secret?
Turning left after starting to drift right, it lets you maneuver the car enough to fit through the whole arrows
I hope that if a Cars 4 did happen, they wouldn’t do anything to ruin anything from the other movies.

while i do think this game is...fine, the voice acting, short size of playable characters and a big lack of story mode didn't do any favors.
I guess I’ve never really thought about why they didn’t release it on PC. I guess the Cars 2 games wasn’t exactly the best on PC, so maybe that is a reason for it.
@@ShadedCollector i think the graphics was something to be desired with.
Why didn't they add more stuff to the game after that movie like dlc
Woahh big drama in the Pixar Cars Video Game Adaptation Community...
No way I love that game so much I play it every day
I Honestly don't hate it too much, it's pretty bad but it's nice to play a slightly improved version Of Cars 2.
but with that being said, it's *very* weak. and it was rushed during development, thanks for showing off the deleted bits!
The Game has good graphic, is nice, you can even play it on PS3 and you can chill in thomasvile, so what do you want more ? 😂
Cars 2 the movie the video game was so fire
Me just realizing cars are there as a game
¿Can it be added to characters that are not playable on the computer?
No, Because the game isnt on PC
Idc what people are gonna say to me but i loved this game it also brings me memories personally.
I think the game is alright, I had fun with it. (I only played the switch version)
I liked the game, but I think you need to do the multiplayer badges to unlock Smokey. I think that's why I stopped playing it
I think you can bypass it with just one additional joystick even alone, and ensure you only do the requirement missions.
@@amurilloreno but I have a switch lite
@@sonicexe66613 Jinkies 🤣 Now I see why
The game for me feels unfinished like they planned for it to be something bigger, but in the end it just ended up being a worse version of cars 2.
i thought still game was weird dream i had for 3 months straight gusse not
Here’s what I think about 2 and 3 they should’ve been more like cars the video game now that was a good game
Yeah, I wish it was like that game too. It would have been cool to explore the different areas of the 2nd and 3rd movies
@@ShadedCollector fr bro and the racing style in my opinion would’ve been better for cars 3 cars 2 it could’ve been better if it was kinda like the racing style of cars 1 but give it a little more action to it still
Okay okay this is NOT a bad game lets get this out of the way and i genuinely don't understand why people would say this is bad for any reason other than shit like not enough characters
All you really do is race.
The only place where you can do anything else is the playground.
Yet Cars 2 still had stuff like capture the flag
Yeah, that’s mostly what the game has to offer. I guess I’ve never heard of capture the flag in Cars 2, is it something only in the Xbox 360 version?
@@ShadedCollector I’m honestly not sure
Haven’t touched the game in a while :/
(Edit) turns out it was called something else…don’t remember the name
Okay, that is pretty interesting, I’ll have to look into that once I get both versions of the game
2:16 ya I try switch and 360 look good
I really am not a fan of the voice actors that they did they didn’t brought Keith who voice lightning in the video games and the short films
Yeah, it is unfortunate that they weren’t able to bring him back. He seemed to do a good job playing as Lightning
Cars 2 is the best looking cars game no cap. Looks really good for a kart game.
I’ve heard that before, I might have to play the Xbox 360 version in the future
@@ShadedCollector you definitely should. In my opinion xbox 360/ps3 version of Cars 2 is better than any other cars game. I like how the game is more serious compared to previous entries. It also has zero bugs compared to previous entries. Arena mode with your friends is just so fun(up to four players!)
First game was a masterpiece, literally the blueprint for a cars video game and they gave us great value Mario kart 🙄
The first game definitely was everything that a Cars game should be. It’s really unfortunate that we didn’t get a return to that type of game style
Xbox 360? PS3? Dang, they must really wanted that money.
i used to play this all the time and thought it was good and 100% it bro i mean i was a kid
Hey it's not that bad. I find Cars 3 Driven To Win a fun game
Yeah I don’t think it’s a bad game, as I said in the video, I think it’s pretty solid. Some of the reason for making this video was to see why others dislike it so much
