Old Gods of Asgard are actually Poets of the Fall, just under a different name. They use this name when they make music for Remedy Entertainment. In the games Remedy makes there is a fictional band called Old Gods of Asgard. So, yeah. Marko and Sam Lake (the creative director at Remedy) are very good friends, and when Marko and Ollie (their guitarist and only other member at the time) decided to make a band together Marko told Sam that if they ever needed a band for their games, then they're ready to work. So, from about 2003 onwards Poets of the Fall have been making musical cameos in Remedy games.
As a side note for everyone watching this video I'll reiterate since I'm not quite sure if I was clear enough on the stream. It's not just Marko from PotF that is in the Old Gods of Asgard rather PotF the whole band ARE the Old Gods of Asgard
The song alternates between telling the story of Thomas Zane and his wife Barbara Jagger, and instructions telling Alan what he has to do to save his own wife from the Lake
I love this game and when I heard this song for the first time in the game I immediately went to look up who the song was by and have been in love with Poets of the Fall music ever since
Alan wake goes to write in a cabin near a lake, and the powers deep in the lake can turn his poetry in reality. hence the "bringing back his love with the stories he created"
Always happy to hear people getting in to Poets of the Fall🥰 And I will keep requesting more of them on the streams so more people will get to experience their music
@@bazkeen Ahhhh I see. Should have realized that it can go both ways and that there are people who didn't know they have made music for Remedy's games as Old Gods of Asgard😅 anyway glad you liked it😊
As many peopole had pointed out it's basically Poets of the Fall song, so the guy singing is the same one as in Carnival of Rust. So you had the right feeling all along :)
I heard this song when I picked up the Alan Wake Collecters edition which had the game's sound track as a bonus cd. the first few hundred times I misheard Cabin as carrion.
there is silent hill, there is resident evil and there is alan wake. i being playstation man long time and when alan wake come ps5 i took it and i love it (before only xbox ). damn what a game this and others. and this music what poets make this game is outstanding. thanx to great reaction and have wonderful weekend.

*Sami Järvi
@@puuhamato6294 Yes, that's his actual name, but he's better known by his pen name "Sam Lake".
@@BigFry9591 Yes I know.. I rather use his real name since he hasn't actually changed it.
@@BigFry9591 But that's just me. Anyway..
I mean Jarvi is just finnish for lake so i dont see the problem here friends 😅
It's from the game Alan Wake and the lyrics are literally telling you the player what you should do, so "find the witches cabin key"
witch's
And also tell the story of Thomas Zane, what happened prior to Alan Wake's timeline.
"Find the Lady of the Light still raving in the night..." That chick was nuts... But she was right. Alan Wake was a great game.

That was exactly what happened to me as well
I’m exactly the same too
Odin and Tor Anderson will rule forever!
Finally someone reacts to Poets of the Fall! Yass

Although only the chorus is referring to Alan himself. The rest is referring to the story of Thomas Zane.
Yeah, it's Poets of the Fall DBA (doing business as) Old Gods of Asgard.
Have gone down the rabbit hole since I heard this on the stream. Awesome music. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
