    there is nothing quite like alan wake 2. such a great experience, and herald of darkness was a big highlight of the game.

      Should I play the first one first?

      @@UnfilteredRequests I would say so, but tbh you're playing from another characters perspective as well as Alan's so I feel like it wouldn't be a big deal to start with 2. But Alan wake 1 is great too def deserves the playthrough. I'd say it's shorter but still holds up really well today. There's a remaster/remake that I played right before 2 came out!

      I would say you play Control first... then you get backstory of Alan Wake universe. Control is really great game! 🤘🏼

      @@UnfilteredRequests Sam Lake said that to understand the plot of the second part, it is not necessary to play the first one, but I would recommend that you still play the first one for the sake of overall development) both games are great. In general, there are two more games between the first part and the second: "control" and "quantum break", "control" in the same universe with Alan Wake, and "quantum break" seems to be the same, not officially yet, but judging by the DLC plot to Alan Wake 2, still in the same universe. So go ahead :)

    i believe that the actor for Warlin Door (the talkshow host) did his own voice and singing, but the voice actor and screen actor for Alan Wake himself are two different people. The VA for Alan did his own singing, and also played a character in control: Dr Daring.
    All of the various characters pointing in different directions is because the music plays during an actual level of the game, so they are giving you hints on which way to go.

      I can verify this- the voice and singing of Alan is Matthew Porretta, the actor is ilkka villi. Warlin Door was David Harwood who sang himself. And the other dude in the white shirt is Sam Lake, the dev who wrote the game. He's also the face of the first Max Payne game, as he wrote all those too.

    You should definitely react to some Poets of the Fall more popular songs. Beautiful and underrated band.

    Hell yeah! :D Alan Wake 2 includes a bunch of live action sequences, and this is one of them. "Old Gods of Asgard" is actually a band in the world of the game, and Remedy(the creators of the Alan Wake games) got Poets of the Fall to make songs as them. They made a couple songs for the first Alan Wake(definitely check out "Balance Slays the Demon"), I think they had one in the game Control(which is set in the same universe), and now this for Alan Wake 2. ;)
    The Alan Wake games are basically action survival horror games - think Resident Evil 4. And the story is very Stephen King inspired.

      Ohhh ok so the bands actually Poets of the Fall, just renamed cuz they're in the game. Control is in the same universe as Alan Wake?

    • @TheCreativeKobold
      @TheCreativeKobold 5 месяцев назад +6

      @@UnfilteredRequests Yes, and yes. ;) Characters from Alan Wake appear in Control, specifically in one a story DLC where it's made clear that the bureau in Control basically "cleaned up" after the supernatural incident that happened in the first Alan Wake game. And there is a bureau agent that appears in Alan Wake 2. There are also a bunch of other, smaller connections. ;)
      As for Poets of the Fall, another reason for calling them something else(outside of for narrative purposes), the music genres and styles differ greatly between Poets of the Fall and Old Gods of Asgard.

    Can you please do Will Ramos and Nik Nocturnals Rain or Dark Signs cover? All the instruments are red constructed and let's say that Nik loves modern metal guitar and drums. Sadly no videos as of yet though. I know I should pay but I'm a poor old dude and those 2 are exceptional.
