wow1 this is amazing! i would truly be overwhelmed with this, but so excited! i am not a quilter, but i create and design canvas tote bags and accessories, but, I'm interested in the process of quilting. but Quiltcon looks amazing. i remember seeing it in Atlanta last year and it was off the chain. i lived not too far from where they had it at.
The History Museum and Natural Sciences Museum are free but it would involve time and a lot of walking to view them. They are on Jones St between Wilmington and Salisbury st. About maybe 5 blocks away from Convention center. City buses are free until june.
Great tips, thanks! Compression socks are awesome for any time you’re walking or standing a lot. And don’t forget to wear them on the plane. They help so much with that leaden feeling in your legs after sitting in a cramped economy class seat.
One tip I could add, budget extra money, bring both extra cash and at least one loaded CC as not all of the food vendors take CC or cash as well as the vendors in the show. Also not sure if the womens restroom has them, but I charged my phone in the mens restrooms.
Thank you Becca! This video is Awesome...and very informative! Raleigh will be my first Quiltcon and I have already shared your video with my gal pals that are coming, too. I hope I can meet you at the show.
Glad it was helpful! I wished I would have had something like this last year - so I figured why not put it out there for the newbies this year! It's a lot of fun, you're going to love it!
so sorry I just now saw your question-worked all day yesterday and went to bed early! The class I could drop is QLA006-Quilting with Rulers Skill Builder. It's Saturday 9am-12. I have ordered the ruler/panel quilt and it will be at the class-if that is not wanted, I am fine keeping it.@@sewbecca
Hi Becca, Thank you for this video. I'm sorry I just looked at it now. I would really like to go to Raleigh for the Quilt Com. Can you tell me when it is? The only one I can bring is my husband ,he loves going with me. We live in Canada, and I have wanted to meet you. This is an opportunity for my husband and I to go away. We are retired so it would be nice to travel. We will celebrate our Anniversary on March 19th. 47 years of wonderful marriage. It is such a pleasure to watch your videos. Thank you, Corinne.
Hi Corrine! Quilt con is in Raleigh North Carolina next week! It runs February 22nd 2024 to February 25, 2024. I’ll be arriving on Wednesday, February 21 and leaving on Monday, February 26. I won’t be at quilt con in 2025, but if you’re interested in going it’ll be February 2025 and located in Phoenix.
I have never been to any quilt show. I would have loved to attend the California one last weekend, LED Lit rulers WOW. Swag bags sounds cool. I guess I need to make a quilt show 1st on my bucket list. 😅
I assume it's in the Raleigh Convention Center. I haven't been in that building in probably 20 years. The building has a stupid layout. It's U-shaped, so if you are in a room at the top of the "U" and need to get to a room at the top of the other side of the U, you have to walk all the way around (down one side, across, and down the other side). Also, the elevators are confusing. Most of them only serve some of the floors. So, fortunately you can find floor plans etc online. Study it ahead of the time.
I just watched your informative video about Quiltcon 2024. I’m very excited about going next month. I heard that you are strongly encouraged to wear something modified or personally created. Can you expand on that? I want to get the full experience but need some inspiration. Thanks!
Last year, there were a few (less than a dozen) individuals that I saw wearing something "quilted" (like a quilted jacket). Most folks were just there in casual clothes enjoying the shopping and the quilt show!
This might be a silly question but what kind of food do they have at the concession stand? Do you think it's important to bring in lots of food and snacks or is there a good selection to buy or worth it to leave the convention center for snacks? Thanks!
Actually - I recorded a bit about having some snacks in my bag, and decided to leave it out because I wasn't sure what the convention center's policy would be on food. Most quilt shows are 'no food' in the exhibit hall. Last year, they had outside vendors (like Chick Fil A, etc) come in and serve a limited menu...for higher prices in the lobby. Most of the time, I chose to ate at nearby locations and snuck some portable snacks into the hall in my bag (don't tell anyone, LOL). I just didn't pull them out unless I was seated at a table away from the vendors and the quilts.
Unless you know the name of the quilt, or the quilter, you'll have to wait for that feature to be released in the app. Once Quiltcon officially opens next week (02/22/2024 at 10am ET), from the main screen of the app, click on 'Quilt Show'. Note: You will need to have purchased a pass to the show in order to use the app.
@@sewbecca Thank you! I've got my pass and have been checking out which vendors I want to make sure and check out. Thanks so much for the quick response!!!
Becca is there any way that you can find out how much the catalog is that you were talking about that has all the pics of all the vendors / pics of quilts. And if you can let me know how I can get a copy of it. I wish I could go to quilt con but I can't. If you're to busy to do this I understand. Thank you.

Becca, enjoy every single moment. The technology that is available is mind blowing ! I hope the compression socks you bought do the trick
Oh, so wish I would have watched this video before I went to Raleigh! It was my first Quiltcon, and you gave perfect tips!
Something to keep in mind for next year!
I will be there! I will be Star struck if I see you and Tiff!
Well, we will be there all 4 days - so the chances are pretty good that you'll spot us roaming the floor!
The History Museum and Natural Sciences Museum are free but it would involve time and a lot of walking to view them. They are on Jones St between Wilmington and Salisbury st. About maybe 5 blocks away from Convention center. City buses are free until june.
Thanks for the tips - if we find ourselves with some down time, maybe we will check them out!
Thanks for all the info. I have a sister that lives in Raleigh! Her husband is an excellent cook so i can't wait.

The App is AMAZING. I'm seriously considering going- maybe drive there, spend the night, go back for 5/6 hrs, then back to Hampton, VA.
Well, even if you don't go - I'll see you at Mid-Atlantic (if you're there on Saturday)!
@@sewbecca Awesome! Yes, I'll be there every day!😉💸

I look forward to seeing all the videos of quiltcon.
Also, looking at the elephant close up reminded me to ask- how are you planning to quilt Mufasa?
I’m actually hoping to send it out for show quilting from The Very Thoughtful Quilter!
@@sewbecca I can't wait to see it!
Next month in Raleigh will be my first QuiltCon. This is great!
