    In 2007 I did this with my two sons then 10 and 8 and it was amazing. Funny thing when we got back to Scouts Landing my youngest realized he left his pack on Angels Landing and had to go back to get it. Back then you didn't need a pass to hike it.

      That’s quite the story! It’s honestly something I could see one of us doing by mistake. That’s a long hike to do twice back to back!

    Thanks for sharing. For those of us who cannot ever do this hike, it was a joy to see it from your camera lens. Gotta admit, it made me kinda freak at in the narrow areas and that ridge...yikes!

    I'd probably run 3 marathons before attempting that last , chain section after Scout's Lookout. I'm the type who feels queasy when I'm leaning up against a railing 8 or so floors up in a condo. I once stood in one of the glass viewing boxes (The Ledge) in Chicago's Willis Tower (1350 ft. up), and I was shaking so much I had trouble standing in one place.

    Great helpful video. We are heading to zion in a week and hoping the flood season in coming to a close. 🤞

    • @trailtalestravel
      @trailtalestravel  10 месяцев назад

      Flood season in Zion National Park typically occurs during the late summer and early fall, particularly in July and August. This is when monsoon rains can lead to flash floods in the narrow canyons of the park.
      You should be ok, but always check with a park ranger at the visitor centre for the best guidance.

      Just wondering, what trails are the most recommended in Russia? I live in the U.S. Hope to visit there someday. Thanks, Carl

    At what time were your permits for angels landing? 9am? Also, how bright was it? Thank you for this video, it’s awesome!

      We’re glad you enjoyed the video!
      Our time slot was after 12pm, and we started at exactly noon. It was very bright, very hot. Almost no shade on the way up to scout lookout.

    Enjoyed your video.. please make one for the half dome in Yosemite.. I have completed that one 19 miles.. it was for me an experience of a lifetime.. I love the red rocks reminds me of Sedona.. your right about water you can not overlook this I was out of water on the way down from half dome and it wasn’t for the grace of God and some very gracious hikers that gave me water I would have never made it down

      Half dome was a challenge, always bring water. Me and my brother both brought 12 water bottles ea. it was an experience of a lifetime! My first hike, honestly was scared looking at the half dome right after the sub dome but as you get closer it doesn’t look as bad. But truly an amazing hike! Makes me want to go back. One day I’ll do angels landing!👍

      @@ISuperior7 FYI, Angles landing was a cakewalk compared to the half dome. I personally prefer the Red Rocks of the Southwest but the 19 mile hike to and from the half dome was like climbing Mt. Everest. I really enjoyed the hike and will go back with my grandkids in a couple years..

    Great video!! Do you recommend trekking poles?

    • @trailtalestravel
      @trailtalestravel  10 месяцев назад

      They might be useful for the descent on the west rim trail, but they won’t help much on Angel’s landing. If you do bring them, we’d recommend collapsible poles so they’re out of the way for the parts where you’re scrambling/climbing.

    just a heads up, the rangers are not at the foot of angels landing all day every day. They've not been there the last 2 times I've went. Id tread lightly though mates.

    • @trailtalestravel
      @trailtalestravel  9 месяцев назад

      The rangers are usually there at peak times. They are just making sure that it is never overcrowded. That’s the main reason for the permits.

    Do you know if permits are required year-round? Thanks, Carl

    • @trailtalestravel
      @trailtalestravel  8 месяцев назад

      Hi Carl, since they are a means of stopping overcrowding on the trail, so are only required during peak season. However, it’s best to check on the parks service website before you go.

      Nope.
      "Zion" rhymes with "tie on".
