Pravčická Archway, Bohemian Switzerland - Hiking Guide
👉Thank you for taking the time to make this video for all of us (and for your own memories too, of course). Most people don't realize how much time and effort it takes to create something like this (cameras, mics, batteries, tripods/monopods, editing and splicing video footage, etc.). Much appreciated. It helped me realize that we'd need to devote a full day to visiting there and not just a quick trip, since we enjoy hiking as well. 👍
Thank you! We really appreciate it. We hope you enjoy the hike as much as we did!
Thank guys for tip Happy holidays
My favourite levada walk so far. Done it twice so far and each time it felt special
Amazing
Great video
Did that in 2000. Empty trail maybe a 100 or less people a day.I was with 6 people only. Memorable experience. Thank You. So many memories generated with this vid.
Dang that girl scared with her fear at the end. I don't want to freak out when i get there
The girl from the end here 👋, there is a pretty scary part right at the beginning after the first set of chains ends. So you can always test it out before committing to the entire hike. If you can make it past the first chain gap you can likely do the rest.
Some people are just begging for a serious injury attempting that in those conditions.
Hi, great video, what camera did you shoot this with?
Thanks Jonathan! This was all shot on an iPhone 11, nothing fancy, but very portable.
One of the best hikes I have ever done. One for the bucket list
Great
Spectacular!
Stunning visuals! The landscapes are beautifully shot. Thanks for sharing. sub & 👍33
So the way you come up is the same way you go down?
Yes. It doesn’t get boring though with the ropes and climbing.
@@trailtalestravel thanks!
Excellent.
❤❤❤❤❤
If we do Seceda in the first part of the day, what other trail will you recommend for the 2-nd part of the day? Can Seceda be done in the same day with Sassolungo or is too much? Thank you 🙏
Doing the full hike for both trails in one day would be quite a lot, and is not necessary. You definitely can do both in one day. However, you don’t need to do the whole trail on seceda to see everything, the best view is from the gondola station.
@@trailtalestravelThank you! If you will have to choose between these two, which one will be preferred?
What hike of Sassolungo is this one ? Thank you 🙏
This is the hike we did: Piz Sella - Ciaulong | Sassolungo Cable Cars on AllTrails www.alltrails.com/en-gb/trail/italy/trentino/piz-sella-ciaulong-sassolungo-telecabine
In 2 weeks we will go op Col Raiser again. We been there in 2007 with rain and a little of snow early September. Hope fpr better weather this time. We intend to climb to the Seceda, doing the same trip you did but with a cheaper starting point😂 it's 60 Euros vs 90.
Great video, enjoying your channel! We are headed to the area and looking for a good beginner via ferrata. Would you say this one is TOO easy? We don't have any real climbing experience (we did one guided via ferrata in New Zealand that was very easy) but are in good hiking shape. Don't love heights but don't freak out with them. Just wondering if you'd say this has at least a little "spice"/exposure or if most people around were just treating it as a regular hike.
There were definitely some people doing it without any protective gear, the via ferrata section can be done without a harness if you aren’t afraid of heights. But I would recommend this trail anyway simply because it was so enjoyable. I would say a little spice was definitely there.
@@trailtalestravel Thanks! Did you do any other via ferratas while you were there that you could compare it to?
Unfortunately we didn’t have time for any others. I would recommend checking out Train To Summit, the channel has some videos on via ferrata in the dolomites: ruclips.net/video/RpZ9Py-jvf0/видео.htmlsi=gJNjZ_mUWUU14pFM
@joshandJase
I am from the Netherlands and I had to stop frequently, it is so hard getting up these mountains! Especially when it’s hot. Getting down is hard as well, by the way 😅
It’s all hard work but it’s all worth it 😁 do you have any other hiking trips planned in the Alps?
actually just returned from the Austrian alps, this is why I can relate 😅 (went to Gerlos with my two sons)
When clipping into a via ferrata, The gates for your carabiners should face opposite directions. This reduces the chances of accidentally disconnecting both of them at the same time.
Great tip, thanks Tony! (You can tell we were newbies)
Is there any convenient place to camp thanks
There is no camping inside the park, but we camped at Camping Königstein, which is about a 25 minute drive To the parking lot of the national park. There is also a campsite in Rathen, from which you can take a boat across the river and walk right into the park which you may find more convenient. Search “campingplatz” or “zeltwiese” in google maps and you’ll find some options.
Thank you! This is the best! It truly shows what is necessary to give me the confidence to do this hike!
Glad it was helpful! We hope you have fun on the trail!
can I find that route on All Trails. I would like to replicate that. We are going in 2 weeks. Thanks
The link to AllTrails is in the description. Let us know how you found the trail when you get back 😄
@@trailtalestravel - Got the link. I can't tell you how appreciative i am. This is exactly what we were looking for and I have seen a slew of videos and Alltrails previews. ..... and i just subscribed ...
🥰 this is the reason we make these videos, for exactly this reason. Thank you for the kind words Tom! By the way, we also have 2 other videos from the Dolomites which you might enjoy, for trails on Seceda and Lagazuoi
Thank you for this amazing video
Thanks Kevin, glad you enjoyed it. Let us know if you try out the hike for yourself 😁
nicely done. hope you come back and hike the ohter 3/4 of the coast trail, it gets more spectacular and technical past Beechey Head going west, and there are options to make it up to a 20km rugged hike.
20km is definitely getting into sore feet territory, and not everyone in our party was as keen a hiker as us, but maybe next time I’ll give the longer version a go! Thanks for the recommendation
Very informative and definitely in my bucket list, thank you for sharing :)
Is it possible to go higher or is that the complete end of the trail?
It’s pretty much the highest point on this trail. You’d need to take a different trailhead to go higher up stream.
@@trailtalestravelI assume it’s the area were you can rock climb with your own gear
There were people climbing with to their own gear in the middle section of the trail, we didn’t see any climbers at the top. Have a look at the hike in AllTrails, linked in the video description. You can see this particular trail only goes up to the falls, it doesn’t go higher. There are other trails that go higher up, but the starting point for them is different.
@@trailtalestravel thanks
Where are the people? It appears that the permit is not necessary.
There are park rangers at the scout lookout trailhead and again at the start of Angels Landing trail. The fact that there aren’t too many people on the trail means the permit system is working. I also took care not to film too many people; showcasing the hike, not the hikers 😉
I have never been to Vancouver, but it looks great! :) S&L7.
You’ll have to visit, it’s so beautiful!
WoW! That's Awesome! Absolutely Stunning And Breathtaking Adventure! Have A Lovely Weekend!
Can you dip in the water during summer?
Many people do, but just be very careful and find a safe spot to do it. The rocks are pretty slippery and as you saw there’s a big drop
@@trailtalestravel thanks
Fantastic 🙂
Thank you! Cheers!
The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.
Wow great content! Writing skills and drone videography, both were impressive!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice job 🙂
Do the Grossglockner
We did! Check out the video here: ruclips.net/video/oaDiedzGqRs/видео.htmlsi=DKHM5zsmxxtW2189
Trenches are actually from WW1 and not WW2. They were part of the front line between Italy and Austro-Hungarian empire. WW2 wasn't fought in the Dolomites
Thanks for the clarification, I’ve fixed the typo in the title.
At what time were your permits for angels landing? 9am? Also, how bright was it? Thank you for this video, it’s awesome!
We’re glad you enjoyed the video! Our time slot was after 12pm, and we started at exactly noon. It was very bright, very hot. Almost no shade on the way up to scout lookout.
Can anyone recommend any levadas we can do from funchal. We can get bus to them but not by car as we're not hiring a car? We are in our 50s but quite fit so just want to experience 1 or 2.
Regrettably most of the Levadas are not near where people live, so getting a bus directly to a trailhead is tough. I spent some time looking into this for you and didn’t see anything that jumped out. However, you can still enjoy this hike - you can take the 56 bus to Santana (about an hour from Funchal) and then take a taxi the rest of the way. It’s busy enough in the summer that you should have no difficulty in getting a taxi back to the bus stop for your return journey. The staff on site at Parque Florestal das Queimadas should also be able to help call one for you if needed.
This looks like the bottom up route?
That’s right. It’s known both as the left fork and the bottom up route.
How much time do you need for the entire visit?
You can see the highlights in 1 day, but there is much more to the park than just this one hike. I would recommend 2-3 days to see everything.
superbe parcours, est ce la durée aller et retour ou simplement aller
The total distance mentioned is out and back. You can view the trail in AllTrails (see link in description) La distance totale mentionnée est aller et retour. Vous pouvez consulter le sentier dans AllTrails (voir lien dans la description)
Great video
Really cool hike an information. I had to go watch a timelapse of the tidal swing for this, that is wild. Beautiful film!
Lovely filming and editing my friend! Place looks amazing 👏
Super 🙂
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi. I plan to do same hike on coming 12 June. May i know what date did you hike? Is it dangerous if there is snow on the mountain?
The conditions will be very similar to what was shown in the video. The snow on the trail is not a hazard, but you might get a wet foot if you step in a deep pocket.
@@trailtalestravel So the video taken was at the beginning of the june?
We were there June 16. So almost exactly the same time of year.
@@trailtalestravel Thanks a lot for your reply.
Let us know how you get on when go visit!
