Your demonstration was really well done, Phil. It's a much easier process than I imagined. The camera tracking feature removes the scene mapping I figured would be necessary. The scary thing is we're just a few years away from video tape being inadmissible in court without a challenge.
Does the 3D object and the shadow catcher plane automatically lock on to the foundry tracking data, or do I have to do something that they line up properly?
Wow. I would have imagined something like this would have to be done in a photo editor, frame by frame. Impressive software.

Yep. I'm not quite there yet but you can definitely put objects in a scene and have it look totally real.
Good job Phil you the best!
Thanks!
Thanks a lot for the tutorial Phil, I didn't even knew that there was a tool like this, will try it as soon as possible....
Very nice Phil, thanks for the tutorial !
Excellent video Phil, thanks!
Great tutorial. I guess it would look even more real if you would reduce the saturation of the gate.
Good video!

The tracker simply tells the CG camera how to move. The shape plane, as well as the 3D object just sit still in 3D space.
