      It’s hard to beat and now they have “Rally Pro Standard” model. For $500 you get nearly all the mods I spent $1500 on! 🤷‍♂️

    Loved it! That was an awesome little adventure. Glad you took some time to think about safety and contingency plans in that sketchy area. I also carry a compact .380. That trail also looks really fun. Everything about this was the Kove in its element. Perfect terrain for it. Absolutely eats terrain like this for breakfast with speed, style, and comfort! Loved that pure riding segment at the end, too. Nothing beats the thrill and sound of an uncorked thumper tear-assing around the countryside! Well done my dude!

    "obviously I am armed" I am from the UK and I have no understanding from the video why? I have owned a .22RF, .243 and shotguns (which would be considered quite unusual the rifles anyway) but never felt the need to take them on a trailride, rented a bike about 10 years ago in LA too and rode around 4 states solo for a fortnight for the first time in the US, did'nt need a gun then either, did go to a gun club in LV and spent $50 blasting at paper. You are very fortunate to have all that free space to go and ride, us here in the UK are generally limited to a mile or two here and there though often a lot more challenging than your ride . a small grappling hook and a bit of rope would have you over that wall in about a minute surely? who were the guys you spoke too? thanks for the vid.

    • @DirtByk

      So I’d just say that in the US, especially in Arizona, nearly everyone is armed and the border lands are very dangerous due to the illegal activity. I didn’t need my gun but we like to be safe rather than sorry. Not to mention it is my job to put people away in jail so I surely have enemies out there (not in the middle of no where but you get my point). The wall at the border is not secure at all so need for a grappling hook, just walk a mile to the next hole in the fence and walk through. Ridiculous if you ask me!! The guy in the white truck is an independent news outlet showing what’s going on at the border. I think it’s livebordernews.com or something similar. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

      I understand people living outside the US not understanding the firearm thing. I also understand that there are parts of London that the police won’t enter because of the “ others” that live there. It’s becoming this way in the US and the epicenter of the illegal migration and drug trafficking and human trafficking is right where this man is out playing. I’d just as soon not be armed wherever I go, but I’m not the problem, they are. I’m a law abiding citizen that pays my taxes and follows the laws. “They” don’t.

      It was closer to 15 degrees at the height of the day. There was some elevation to that area. Plus the desert warms up in the day but gets cold at night. Well below freezing 🥶. Thanks for checking out my video all the way in France!

    Great looking bike, how is it after a long day in the saddle. Just sub'd, thanks.

    • @DirtByk
      @DirtByk  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the sub! It’s still a dirt bike but it’s much smoother than my 500 was so I’d say you’re less fatigued at the end of the day. That’s where the smooth power comes in to play too. A bike with crazy power would wear you out in no time.

      I had a 2007 KTM 640ADV back in the day, easy to ride, service and crashable!!. Do you think you can do a day on the highway okay?
      What's the service intervals.

    • @DirtByk
      @DirtByk  7 месяцев назад

      @@leooneill1693 it’s still a single on the highway. My bones would be buzzing by the end of the day. I’d say it’s doable. I’ll ride a couple hundred plus miles off-road out and can double back on the highway no problem. It’s a good combo but still a single thumper nonetheless!

    You mentioned in a previous video some leakage at the valve cover seal. Wanted to check in and see if that problem persists?

    • @DirtByk
      @DirtByk  8 месяцев назад +1

      It’s not horrible or at the moment causing any pooling of oil in the skid plate area. However, the left side of the head/cylinder are oil soaked. I’ve tried tightening the head cover bolts. I emailed Gary at gpx and be mentioned I might have overfilled the oil?? Hmm. When I get the bike apart later down the road I’ll inspect closer and try replacing the gasket.

    • @matlock77
      @matlock77 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@DirtByk Hmmm concerning to say the least. I’m kind of on the fence right now with buying one. My biggest concern has been longterm reliability, but since these bikes are so new it seems kind of like a crapshoot. I’ve got a CRF300L Rally now, which isn’t even in the same league, but dang it’s reliable. That’s what you want with a BDR bike.

    • @DirtByk
      @DirtByk  8 месяцев назад +1

      @@matlock77 as you can see I ride remote and often solo. Reliability is critical to me as well. Dakar ‘23 was proving ground enough for me. I can tell you the build quality is on par with Japanese or Austrian bikes. I’ve had dozens and been working on bikes for 30+ years. Only time will tell, but my bet is on the Kove’s reliability.
