I think not being able to remove tattoos is a good feature. It's a small town that quite clearly doesn't have a tattoo removal clinic. Tattoos are permanent! Maybe it's R* teaching a lesson :)
Nasoor123132 That's literally not an excuse. Just because Max Payne took 10 years to make a sequel and it having more fans than Bully doesn't make it alright that Bully didn't recieve a sequel yet.
If they can manage to make GTA's every few years and make them amazing, I'm pretty sure they could pull out Bully 2 in the same amount of time and still make it good.
GTA isn't made by the people who created Bully though, it's made by R*North who have nothing to do with Bully Bully is made by some guys in Toronto i think before Rockstar closed them down and merged them into another studio
You can find earnest a few times. Derby you find only but failing a mission in a certain way. Same with Johnny and red. Earnest is the only 1 that you can find in chapter 3 and 4.
I perfectly agree with the points, although I think it's all a little of an exaggeration. I wouldn't say it ruins Bully, but they're definetly problems.
I'm just here saying... (No offense) But people are aware this game was released in 2008? Obviously, flaws will be in it. Gaming software wasn't as advanced as 2017.
It was released in 2006, but "Software wasn't as advanced" is no excuse, since in 2004, with GTA: SA, most of these issues were never an issue in the game.

Do you want a finished game with working features, or an unfinished game where half of the features/missions are unfinished? There are deadlines, and they are there for a reason, especially considering that bully got delayed.
The only place where a teacher/other faculty is sent after the main vigilant is in the girls dorm, after defeating the main vigilant or getting a red meter, the nurse and the librarian will come after you, and if they are knocked out too, Ms. Philips will come.
The game waits a bit to spawn another nurse or librarian, then Ms Philips again, I think the main vigilant may spawn again but I'm not sure... EDIT: Only if the red bar is kept that is.
Exactly, but I found this, if the game can't spawn prefects (knocked out) sometimes teachers spawn. And also if you disable prefects in ide.img (prefects only. Teachers, cops won't trigger this) when you get full trouble meter, but prefects cant bust you because they're disabled. If you try get to an interior like doors, you'll see Jimmy just run back and forth, even when you press forward button. Nathan said this happens if the game can't spawn prefects, the game just go "loop". I don't know about the loop just ask Nathan why
Desu the boys dorm being small and the girls dorm being large is just a storytelling thing. It makes the girls dorm seem big and vast and like a fortress to infiltrate or whatever while the boys dorm is meant to be your usual familiar small comfy home. A lot of the scale inconsistencies are due to how important the areas are meant to be to you. Tattoos being permanent and eventually regretting them is like the entire point of tattoos
Vis also I’m not sure about comfort cause the boys dorm doesn’t even have a toilet but the girls dorm has one 😄 I suppose boys are suppose to go before the school shuts or just use a bed pan or something 😄 either way it seems a bit unfair how the girls have a toilet and they can go when they want although I think before going to bed they’ll be told to go and then be sent straight to sleep with no fuss you know what bullworths discipline is like

Watch Dogs 2 is actually really good. Also, the way they did the Watch Dogs 2 is actually really good. They leave some references to the first one, like having a mission where you meet Jimmy Hopkins, but other than that, they can make it a separate game. That would be pretty good
To be fair if he was fired they probably wouldn't kick him out immediately especially that close to the end of the school year. They'd likely just force him to resign at the end of the school year officially because it would be too much of a hassle to get a replacement that close to the end of the year.
1. The fact that Jimmy is an ugly midget and not a sexy tall guy like Johnny Vincent. 2. Pinky is obviously the best girlfriend, but the game forgets about her after Chapter 2, even though Jimmy's other girlfriends play bigger roles in the other Chapters. 3. The Slingshot is too overpowered. 4. Gary is a shitty final boss.
My Story points- 1. Gary disappearing and reappearing . 2. The person in happy volts asylum who mentions the 'leader' and we see a statue but that's all. Could have been massively expanded on, even if just giving us more mystery around it. 3. The x rays in Happy volts Asylum are left unexplained. 4. The hobo gets abducted by aliens then that's it. If we look at GTA V and aliens it adds much more mystery and puzzles around them, which Rockstar could have done in Bully. 5. It drops main story lines such as Gary/cliques and dedicates more time to pointless side characters such as Edna etc without tying up the lose ends in the main stories. It's like it got sidetracked with its self, a more focused story around the cliques and central characters would have helped the game. Also, the joke on Edna being gross gets old and boring by the time we come to the tacked on dating mission. This would have been better if we had anything else in its place. Also, it starts other plot points while dropping others. 6. The hole is never used or mentioned again, I get that it was in the BETA, but would it have been so hard to have characters mention it just in passing even? 7. The ending feels rushed, we seriously dedicated more time to Edna than the end fight. Also, falling through the roof. ' I heard everything!' How? just how? 8. A little more end insight into how Gary was manipulating everything wouldn't have been harmful as it's largely left to speculation. 9. They could have spawned 'victory' posters in the following chapter for the election, like they spawned the 'vote for' ones, so to just drop it completely was lazy. 10. Some characters are just one note and badly underwritten such as Mr Burton. There is nothing else to his character than being a pervert. 11. The teachers/other characters relay on Jimmy way to much to do things for them in general. Why would someone ask Jimmy only to get someone out of an asylum? He's 15. Why would someone ask him to find beer bottles he has no way of knowing where they are but somehow finds them? Yeah. 12. Johnny Vincent is inconsistent af. He threatens Jimmy then doesn't do anything after, same with most cliques. Instead of solving things with fighting, (like the hole) let's solve them with, bike races! Yay. On this point, people are seen fighting all over the game, but for some reason because it's Jimmy, he doesn't get rumbled to suit the story line. My game points- 1. The fun house is a good but otherwise unrealistic level in a some what realistic game. It's a platforming segment, which is welcome. But seems like fantasy rather than realistic. The nerds are way too whiny and dependent upon Jimmy in this mission. They can built a massive fort, but for some reason can't navigate a fun house and cry for Jimmy to help them. Also, aside from the platforming, how do they know Jimmy is in the fun house? 2. You get scolded for not wearing uniform at the start of the game then it's largely dropped by chapter 3. Prefects tend to drop the rules after a while. Heck, you can even skip classes and never go back to school and no one wonders where you are/ sends Police to search for you etc. 3. You can skip classes and never be scolded for it. It also takes way to long to be scolded for bad behavior. You have to basically be an uber dick to get punished with what, mowing the lawn? Isn't that the janitors job? Also, the punishments are repetitive, when most of the time you're just defending yourself against NCPs who rat on you for no reason. 4. Everyone in the school fucking hates you and wants to fight you from the moment you enter. The whole world seems like it's against you until the game progresses. Unrealistic. 5. You can buy soda and use urinals but the energy/eating/drinking system is under implemented. 6. The fucking clock mechanics in the original game are broken af. You can start daytime missions and it will be nighttime in the blink of an eye. Which changes environments designed to be easier in daytime, such as the school, into a much harder mission with things still being open/teachers still being there in the cut scenes only to come out to stealth halls and be busted by a prefect and fail the mission. Same with the carnival mission, you can start it then fail, purely because there's not enough time left on the clock. I realise they fixed this in later editions, but the PS4 port has this sloppy mechanic too and it ruins the game. 7. Repeated dialogue- I get it's a ps2 game. But the dialogue repeats way too much when walking around school/town. The game is smart in some parts where unique dialogue will play, such as when you try to put SHIT into English class, but walking around hearing characters say the same thing over and over is annoying after a while and again plays into my previous points of the whole school being out to get you/ talk to you/ unrealistic. People IRL don't just spout random shit to people. 8. Glitches- we all know the ones. It varies on play throughs too. Won't go into them here. I love this game and it's my fav game of all time so just joining in with the nit picking. :)
It’s a video game where a skin headed kid is supposedly king of the school, and you can go into the girls dorm without getting into much trouble. Don’t think it’s supposed to be a realistic school simulator, that would be boring. But I do understand some of your points.
There are a bunch of reasons why they didn't model all of Jimmy's hairstyles. The biggest being that CJ's hairstyles in San Andreas do actually revert depending on which hair it is. Like if you have an afro, when CJ wears the hat it switches to a cesar. It's only the ones that modify color/the back that it shows. And the reason why is because cornrows doesn't modify CJ's overall headshape that much. Wheras Jimmy's hairstyles greatly vary his head shape. Like give him actual hair/spikes etc. It would require modifying every single hat in the game to accompany this to avoid clipping or disable hats when not having the buzzcut entirely.
I don't really play open world games for challenge. That's what Platformers or FPS games are for. I play open worlds games for fun and to feel like a badass who can best anything.
That's true, Sandbox games doesn't aim for difficulty, however, as the video creator said,one of the cool things in GTA saga is the increasing difficulty against police. Which is seen nowhere in bully. Keeping the story overall easy but adding more chasing if you got into troubles would be cool
Maybe they could have done that when you are into trouble they chase you in an easy mode, but once you start knocking out police officers start getting harder. Because the only reason to knock out several police agents(/teachers) is because you want to fight, otherwise you could have run which is even easier, pretty similar to GTA when in 1-star searching mode the game don't even spawn officers
As much as I utterly adore Bully I will admit that it does have quite a large number of problems (such as the ones that you listed). I still enjoy it a lot though and if there is ever a sequel I would love for it to fix all of this game's flaws it make it absolutely perfect!
I agree with you for most of this: But the tattoos being irremovable was a nice touch, it was very realistic, especially the regret you feel if you get a bad tatt.
You know what the biggest story inconsistency is? Defend Bucky/A Little Help A Little Help happens before Defend Bucky, yet in A Little Help, Gary asks Jimmy about a hobo, who you only meet in Defend Bucky. Rockstar obviously wanted to change the order, but for some reason, didn't change the audio and stuff.
they probably changed the boys' dorm design because there was some mission they scrapped. i think i remember a while ago seeing some old game images of jimmy in what appeared to be a bathroom in the boys' dorm and it seemed like there was probably a mission related to there being more than one floor in the boys dorm or maybe you could see Gary or Petey's room or something. but i guess in the end they felt like it wasn't necessary in the final cut.
Something I wish they did was instead of a permanent tattoo, it could've been a temporary tattoo instead so you had the option to remove it and choose a different style/color.
It always irritated me in San Andreas how when you give CJ the jerri curl and then put on a cap, his hair reverts back to a ceaser, instead of giving us the Ryder/Eazy E look that we so OBVIOUSLY wanted!!!! 😭
Do you not realise Rockstar is made up of multiple different game studios? Bully was made by Rockstar Vancouver and San Andreas was made by Rockstar North. So to criticise the Bully developers for not doing stuff that was in San Andreas when they didn't even make San Andreas is pretty stupid. Also all these criticisms hardly ruined the game. "5 minor flaws in Bully" would have been a more accurate title but I guess that's not clickbaity enough. The only way these could possibly ruin Bully is if you have really bad OCD.

Eh, maybe the weather one doesn't, but I'd still be up to argue why the difficulty/inconsistencies/customisation does. As said, Rockstar are known for their attention to detail in their other games, yet Bully seems to be the black sheep in that regard. Some story inconsistencies: * The chapter 1 election * Gary Smith being completely absent during chapter 4, like he never existed. * Lola/Jimmy's relationship in chapter 3 (though a cut mission explains how they meet properly) * How Jimmy/Clint meet (Scholarship Edition) * The whole Santa storyline seemed like filler with nothing to add IMO it ruins the story slightly as (to me) it's like reading a book with a page torn out. Map inconsistencies: * The Tenements' building is a fantastic example * Boys' dorm * The Junkyard * Harrington House's exterior vs interior. It ruins my immersion in the game, as it makes me feel like the interiors are in completely different maps.
I have to agree with most of this. The Canidate not having a follow up was very confusing. I thought there would something extra to it in Chapter 2, since you go The Canidate -> Halloween -> Help Gary -> Russel In the Hole -> Chapter 2. Specifically, thus could have been done before Boxing Challenge, as a prerequisite to unlock that mission. It would have been awesome to go around the school tagging or replacing the jocks posters, giving you an earlier introduction to tagging, and a nice parallel to Discretion Assured. You also could have gone around the school convincing students to vote for Earnest. This would have been easy for the Nerds and Bullies, since both like you at this point. The preps would never listen to you, and make sure to go against you. The Jocks obviously won't vote for Earnest either. So maybe you go around and do favors for some Greasers and non-clique students in the to give Earnest the advantage. Or maybe you can bribe students one way or another. Christy says elections are rigged with money, so that could play a part in it. But then Gary sets Earnest up to get thrown off the ballot, and Earnest personally blames you for everything. The Nerds still respect you, but Earnest schemes alone for Stronghold Assault. All of those extra details from just one more mission, and one of the biggest plot holes in the entire game is fixed, and you get more character development and earlier tutorials. It could have been really fun!
Maybe Rockstar didn't put as much effort into Bully as the GTA games because they didn't think people would take it as seriously as the GTA games and knew it wouldn't be as popular as the GTA games. Rockstar will probably do an incredible job with Red Dead Redemption 2, Bully 2, Agent and GTA 6. That's why they're taking so long to develop games now.

I feel like the school election storyline should have had 3 - 4 more missions. Maybe one of them being trying to ruin Teds speech. Another one possibly being rigging the votes. I feel like ending it in chapter four would be great as it would be another reason for the Jocks to invade the observatory. That chapter is about the nerds and jocks anyway, so it would make perfect sense About the weather, too: I think that rain should have been more common in the fall, (beginning of the game. Also, these ratios are based on each day.) Maybe a 1/3 chance for rain. A 1/4chance in Chapter 2. I don’t think rain is needed in winter. (Chapter 3) A 1/5 chance in Spring. (Chapter 4) A 1/5 chance in Chapter 5. And Also, a 1/10 chance in Chapter 6. (Because it’s summer.)
Another inconsistency in the map that you forgot to mention: the library. It has windows on the outside, but you can see none from the inside. It's inaceptable that a big company such as Rockstar would make such an inexcusable mistake. They should be glad that this goes mostly unnoticed. About what you said regarding the weather: I agree 100% percent, but I found a way around this glitch, and even posted on the late Bully Board. Just do the lawn mowing job to get weather variations back during endless summer. But another thing that kind of ruined the game is how in Scholarship Edition, where they had much better softwares available, the weather is all the same. The only thing that changes are the colors of the clouds and the sky, but it's all the same sky dome. In the original version the sky actually changed, and they very MUCH better looking too. And one more thing that ruined the game for me is how it spawns peds randomly, and there's not enough of them to fit the map. You can see the nerds and non-clique students literally EVERYWHERE AT ONCE in campus, and that ruins the sense of immersion for me.
WitchettyMan-> PS2 has hardware limitation, so they remove most of the content. Also I think the game release deadline make Bully feels really rushed, despite the positive reviews from the critics. If Bully was released for the PS3 or PS4, I bet Rockstar will include all the beta and cut content plus maybe some extra content.
I didn't mention cut content. I only brought three more points in which Rockstar kind of ruined Bully: the inconsistency between the interior and exterior of the Libray, to add to what TheNathanNs said in the video/how they worsened the weather variations in the Scholarship Edition in spite of having better hardwares/the uncontrolled spawning of peds. Regarding the weather, what I said is: the PS2 version had different skies. It had a plain blue sky, a partially cloudy, a mostly cloudy and overcast skies. They were completely different from each other and all looked nice. In Scholarship Edition, however, they all look the same. The sky only changes the colors. Rockstar WORSENED the sky and made it incredibly lazy, even thought they had much less to work with in the PS2 version, where they put a lot more effort into it. The other problems I mentioned exist in all versions.
Really the biggest issue is how empty the game is. I've always loved this game, but fuck if I don't realize how boring it is. You have all these locations which are essentially useless besides having to go there once or twice for a mission: The Library, the Harrington House, Greaser's Hideout, the Hole, the Girls Dorm, fuck, even the BOYS DORM--- all of these are useless, barren areas with nothing to do. Like it's absolutely silly how there's no incentive to go to any of these major locations. Giant chunks of the schoolyard is used for a few missions, then that's it: they serve no other purpose. And before someone mentions the boy's dorm having stuff to do, yeah, you can play a single minigame and sit down and watch a broken fucking TV. So many fun things to do at a place where you have to be at a lot.
6:00 honestly I the game had multiple endings, like until dawn or telltale games, like there is a choice for Jimmy to Choose who to help and jimmy can got himself, and there are exact votes, for example let’s just say there is a mission to sabotage Ernest, Jimmy accomplishes it, and the jocks gain let’s just say 10 votes from this, AND JIMMYS VOTE CAN COUNT FOR LIKE 3, By messing around with the votes, this has to be optional idk but I want it to have multiple plots and your choices do matter
When it comes to the Tattoo removal, I guess Rockstar wanted to go with the realistic approach because I seriously don't believe that Jimmy can afford $50-$500 to get the job done. However, I do agree that the hat situation is bullsh*t, and Jimmy can afford to change his hair style, like any person can, while keeping the hat.
Bully: Anniversary Edition has little replay value for me. And with Bully: SE a 100.00% completion, it gets a bit stagnant. Would be better if those clique leaders would spawn in the map. And Mascot, always spawning at the football field after passing “Nice Outfit” only if Jimmy doesn’t have on the Costume, Const would spawn as the school mascot. A gynoecium, fun wish I want. The mascot is a heterogeneous character. Bob, he appears only in the intro of The Gym is Burning. Despite the simpering lines he had. He should’ve been in the final version. Especially because Jimmy’s opponent in the wrestling Gym class is only Fatty.. but the townie Omar, was developed from Bob’s gamete design instead. Townfolk that are occidently unused like O’ Rourke (the firefighter) Neil I wish that all students appear in the academy, least at Endless Summer. That would’ve made Bullworth Academy seem much cupsy and Gary to spawn somewhere in blue skies industrial park. That would’ve been so satiable. Inaccessible interiors: The Auditorium. The Candidate. Nutcrackin’. Was in two missions I love how Rockstar dehiscence designed the room, theater boxes - the private rooms the jocks went up to to egg Earnest from up inside. Dr. Crabblesnitches’ office This was a great one. Along with the funhouse at Billy Crane’s Traveler Carnival. very pyretic And theres the cuneiform roof of the main building. Most of the planned assets for this was developed by Rockstar Vancouver I guess Rockstar Games got very churlish by the content of the project and were insipid by the production beta. So they wouldn’t publish Bully how Vancouver wanted.
I don’t understand why tattoos were on the list. If you buy food, eat it, and then decide you don’t like it, you can’t just go back to the shop and ask for a refund!

When it comes to girls and boys dorms, maybe the school had been struggling so bad that they are unable to keep students. Think of how Zoe got kicked out of the school for no reason and how Gary has so much favor with the principal that he can get jimmy in trouble for hear say. No parent would keep their kids in this school with a staff that selects favorites and encourages bullying and toxic student cliches and power structures.
Honestly my biggest gripe is that yes I understand that it’s due to the school having the rule of wearing your uniform but if that’s the case then what’s the point of customization if it going to constantly get chased for it
About the game's difficulty, we should not forget that this game was created in 2008 and back then gamers were not good so they did not do something wrong.
1. characters not appearing in free roam when they have free roam dialogue 2. not being able to bully teachers, girls or little kids when they have dialogue for it 3. beta textures were cartoonier/comic-book-y and would have held up better graphics-wise than trying to look realistic. 4. Jimmy's face in Scholarship Edition is totally fucked up. He looks like a grown man. Some other face textures are off, too. 5. All the great Beta stuff that was removed, like the Halloween mission (which had a lot of great dialogue from Gary and Pete.) 6. Giving the girls a bigger dorm than the boys 7. Giving both Gary and Dr Crabblesnitch very little screen-time after chapter 2
One thing I would have liked is the girlfriend system or the GTA4 hang out with friends, the game feels lonely and empty (like my time at school) after you do all the missions
About the map, it's weird how close the asylum is to school and that you can get to blue sky in 2 minutes from the observatory but like 6 using the actual road to the asylum
I actualy like that you can't remove tattoos. Gives you that "You allready took it there's no going back now" feel. (I know you can remove them in real life but I doubt there is laser tattoo removal in Bullworth.)
When cornelious told johnny algie was at the pizza parlor he could have been trying to trick the greasers. If theres no pizza parlor in bullworth they could waste half an hour looking for algie before they realize there isn't one. This could buy the nerds a lot of time to escape.
Poor optimization, too. Why couldn't they make a game that wouldn't lag on even good PCs and would have better controls for those who don't need aim assist or target lock?
Actually, that's a damn good point. I can play games like Black Ops 3, Witcher 3, GTA V, Life is Strange BTS at 1080p medium to high settings at 45-60 FPS. I can only play Bully on 1080p low settings at a unstable 60 FPS which drops to like 40 in Bullworth Town. Gotta love how I can't play a 2008 game at a stable 60.
I actually thought it was too difficult to deal with prefects and wanted to be able to knock them out at some point. I hope if there's a sequel that your character can upgrade his skills to the point where it's easy enough for him to knock out a prefect or even a cop both hand to hand and with melee weapons. Was able to knock out prefects, but took a LOT of attempts.
Tbh the tattoo thing sounds like an intentional thing. I mean, adults tell teens all the time "once you get a tattoo, it's there forever!" so while it's inconvenient in terms of gameplay, it's almost funny thinking about it as a nod to that.
The difficulty fits well with the difficuly console-based controls where you have to turn your character aroudn with the arrow keys to follow a target and avoid hitting friendlies. When the game is over, there shouldn't necessarily be challenge. That's what game over means, you have lots of money, experience, bullets. They added lazy console difficulty by automatically spawning police right next to the player when gets the highest wanted level. What the hell happened after he jumped into the garbage bin at 2:27? They would have to remodel the hair to make sure it doesn't intersect with the hat. Some of the wavy combed hair have a significant volume. Aren't tattoos permanent by their nature?
To be fair, that's not really R*'s fault, that's Microsoft's emulator thing they use to get 360 games working on the One. There's similar game breaking glitches on the "PCSX2" version.
A few problems I have so far. 1. The lunch lady isn't fired, or arrested when that lady should not be anywhere near kids, or adults. 2. The prefects seem to always know where you are and investigate whenever you try to pick a lock despite the fact they should not be able to see or hear you. 3. Despite being the main antagonist Gary completely disappears for like 2/3 of the game.
the inconsistency doesn't bother me that much, because it's jimmy telling telling the story. so things like the dorm being smaller on the inside could just be jimmy over exaggerating. the worst thing is the hair thing tho!

I bought this game way way back in the day, shortly after it first came out, because of all the hype surrounding it. I shelled out $50 of my hard earned money (I was 17 at the time, getting $50 was no easy feat), and sat down to one of the most boring games ive ever played. Love GTA (5 can suck a dick at this point though), and this definitely came off as a more youth oriented sandbox/open world type of game, it had some good ideas, and I'm not hating on the story, but it was just god awful boring! I did everything I could to have fun with this game, I played it every day for a week, hoping it would grow on me, but it never did. Just went right back to San Andreas, to remind myself that Rockstar does actually make fun games. (Argue with me all you want, you won't sway my opinion, I'm not coming back to respond anyway.)
1. Girls in this game There are 8 girls in this game that don't matter to the story but being Jimmy's bitches. Also they have a bigger dorm beside being less
At the end of the game I found the main character to be underpowered. Like water pistol and firecracker, OK but maybe I was used to GTA too much and expecting a SMG. In the end I was disappointed by all this "child's violence".

problems with attention to detail, but incredibly good fun...since then attention to detail has gotten far better with every R* game and the fun has decreased each time. id rather fun to play than attention to detail, and think R* older games were just more enjoyable than the current ultra immersive games.

You can find earnest a few times. Derby you find only but failing a mission in a certain way. Same with Johnny and red. Earnest is the only 1 that you can find in chapter 3 and 4.

Exactly, but I found this, if the game can't spawn prefects (knocked out) sometimes teachers spawn. And also if you disable prefects in ide.img (prefects only. Teachers, cops won't trigger this) when you get full trouble meter, but prefects cant bust you because they're disabled. If you try get to an interior like doors, you'll see Jimmy just run back and forth, even when you press forward button. Nathan said this happens if the game can't spawn prefects, the game just go "loop". I don't know about the loop just ask Nathan why

Desu the boys dorm being small and the girls dorm being large is just a storytelling thing.
It makes the girls dorm seem big and vast and like a fortress to infiltrate or whatever while the boys dorm is meant to be your usual familiar small comfy home.
A lot of the scale inconsistencies are due to how important the areas are meant to be to you.
Tattoos being permanent and eventually regretting them is like the entire point of tattoos

It's sad how the Con-Sumo Nerds side-mission was the ONLY mission in the entire game that I have ever been stuck on during every playthrough!
My Story points-
1. Gary disappearing and reappearing .
2. The person in happy volts asylum who mentions the 'leader' and we see a statue but that's all. Could have been massively expanded on, even if just giving us more mystery around it.
3. The x rays in Happy volts Asylum are left unexplained.
4. The hobo gets abducted by aliens then that's it. If we look at GTA V and aliens it adds much more mystery and puzzles around them, which Rockstar could have done in Bully.
5. It drops main story lines such as Gary/cliques and dedicates more time to pointless side characters such as Edna etc without tying up the lose ends in the main stories. It's like it got sidetracked with its self, a more focused story around the cliques and central characters would have helped the game. Also, the joke on Edna being gross gets old and boring by the time we come to the tacked on dating mission. This would have been better if we had anything else in its place. Also, it starts other plot points while dropping others.
6. The hole is never used or mentioned again, I get that it was in the BETA, but would it have been so hard to have characters mention it just in passing even?
7. The ending feels rushed, we seriously dedicated more time to Edna than the end fight. Also, falling through the roof. ' I heard everything!' How? just how?
8. A little more end insight into how Gary was manipulating everything wouldn't have been harmful as it's largely left to speculation.
9. They could have spawned 'victory' posters in the following chapter for the election, like they spawned the 'vote for' ones, so to just drop it completely was lazy.
10. Some characters are just one note and badly underwritten such as Mr Burton. There is nothing else to his character than being a pervert.
11. The teachers/other characters relay on Jimmy way to much to do things for them in general. Why would someone ask Jimmy only to get someone out of an asylum? He's 15. Why would someone ask him to find beer bottles he has no way of knowing where they are but somehow finds them? Yeah.
12. Johnny Vincent is inconsistent af. He threatens Jimmy then doesn't do anything after, same with most cliques. Instead of solving things with fighting, (like the hole) let's solve them with, bike races! Yay. On this point, people are seen fighting all over the game, but for some reason because it's Jimmy, he doesn't get rumbled to suit the story line.
My game points-
1. The fun house is a good but otherwise unrealistic level in a some what realistic game. It's a platforming segment, which is welcome. But seems like fantasy rather than realistic. The nerds are way too whiny and dependent upon Jimmy in this mission. They can built a massive fort, but for some reason can't navigate a fun house and cry for Jimmy to help them. Also, aside from the platforming, how do they know Jimmy is in the fun house?
2. You get scolded for not wearing uniform at the start of the game then it's largely dropped by chapter 3. Prefects tend to drop the rules after a while. Heck, you can even skip classes and never go back to school and no one wonders where you are/ sends Police to search for you etc.
3. You can skip classes and never be scolded for it. It also takes way to long to be scolded for bad behavior. You have to basically be an uber dick to get punished with what, mowing the lawn? Isn't that the janitors job? Also, the punishments are repetitive, when most of the time you're just defending yourself against NCPs who rat on you for no reason.
4. Everyone in the school fucking hates you and wants to fight you from the moment you enter. The whole world seems like it's against you until the game progresses. Unrealistic.
5. You can buy soda and use urinals but the energy/eating/drinking system is under implemented.
6. The fucking clock mechanics in the original game are broken af. You can start daytime missions and it will be nighttime in the blink of an eye. Which changes environments designed to be easier in daytime, such as the school, into a much harder mission with things still being open/teachers still being there in the cut scenes only to come out to stealth halls and be busted by a prefect and fail the mission. Same with the carnival mission, you can start it then fail, purely because there's not enough time left on the clock. I realise they fixed this in later editions, but the PS4 port has this sloppy mechanic too and it ruins the game.
7. Repeated dialogue- I get it's a ps2 game. But the dialogue repeats way too much when walking around school/town. The game is smart in some parts where unique dialogue will play, such as when you try to put SHIT into English class, but walking around hearing characters say the same thing over and over is annoying after a while and again plays into my previous points of the whole school being out to get you/ talk to you/ unrealistic. People IRL don't just spout random shit to people.
8. Glitches- we all know the ones. It varies on play throughs too. Won't go into them here.
I love this game and it's my fav game of all time so just joining in with the nit picking.

It’s a video game where a skin headed kid is supposedly king of the school, and you can go into the girls dorm without getting into much trouble. Don’t think it’s supposed to be a realistic school simulator, that would be boring. But I do understand some of your points.
There are a bunch of reasons why they didn't model all of Jimmy's hairstyles. The biggest being that CJ's hairstyles in San Andreas do actually revert depending on which hair it is. Like if you have an afro, when CJ wears the hat it switches to a cesar. It's only the ones that modify color/the back that it shows. And the reason why is because cornrows doesn't modify CJ's overall headshape that much.
Wheras Jimmy's hairstyles greatly vary his head shape. Like give him actual hair/spikes etc. It would require modifying every single hat in the game to accompany this to avoid clipping or disable hats when not having the buzzcut entirely.

I don't really play open world games for challenge. That's what Platformers or FPS games are for. I play open worlds games for fun and to feel like a badass who can best anything.

That's true, Sandbox games doesn't aim for difficulty, however, as the video creator said,one of the cool things in GTA saga is the increasing difficulty against police. Which is seen nowhere in bully. Keeping the story overall easy but adding more chasing if you got into troubles would be cool

Maybe they could have done that when you are into trouble they chase you in an easy mode, but once you start knocking out police officers start getting harder. Because the only reason to knock out several police agents(/teachers) is because you want to fight, otherwise you could have run which is even easier, pretty similar to GTA when in 1-star searching mode the game don't even spawn officers
As much as I utterly adore Bully I will admit that it does have quite a large number of problems (such as the ones that you listed). I still enjoy it a lot though and if there is ever a sequel I would love for it to fix all of this game's flaws it make it absolutely perfect!

A Little Help happens before Defend Bucky, yet in A Little Help, Gary asks Jimmy about a hobo, who you only meet in Defend Bucky.
Rockstar obviously wanted to change the order, but for some reason, didn't change the audio and stuff.
they probably changed the boys' dorm design because there was some mission they scrapped. i think i remember a while ago seeing some old game images of jimmy in what appeared to be a bathroom in the boys' dorm and it seemed like there was probably a mission related to there being more than one floor in the boys dorm or maybe you could see Gary or Petey's room or something. but i guess in the end they felt like it wasn't necessary in the final cut.

Do you not realise Rockstar is made up of multiple different game studios? Bully was made by Rockstar Vancouver and San Andreas was made by Rockstar North. So to criticise the Bully developers for not doing stuff that was in San Andreas when they didn't even make San Andreas is pretty stupid. Also all these criticisms hardly ruined the game. "5 minor flaws in Bully" would have been a more accurate title but I guess that's not clickbaity enough. The only way these could possibly ruin Bully is if you have really bad OCD.

Eh, maybe the weather one doesn't, but I'd still be up to argue why the difficulty/inconsistencies/customisation does.
As said, Rockstar are known for their attention to detail in their other games, yet Bully seems to be the black sheep in that regard.
Some story inconsistencies:
* The chapter 1 election
* Gary Smith being completely absent during chapter 4, like he never existed.
* Lola/Jimmy's relationship in chapter 3 (though a cut mission explains how they meet properly)
* How Jimmy/Clint meet (Scholarship Edition)
* The whole Santa storyline seemed like filler with nothing to add
IMO it ruins the story slightly as (to me) it's like reading a book with a page torn out.
Map inconsistencies:
* The Tenements' building is a fantastic example
* Boys' dorm
* The Junkyard
* Harrington House's exterior vs interior.
It ruins my immersion in the game, as it makes me feel like the interiors are in completely different maps.
These are rather shortcomings that could have been improved. Nevertheless, Bully is a fresh and interesting game. It’s a masterpiece in its own way.

I have to agree with most of this. The Canidate not having a follow up was very confusing. I thought there would something extra to it in Chapter 2, since you go The Canidate -> Halloween -> Help Gary -> Russel In the Hole -> Chapter 2. Specifically, thus could have been done before Boxing Challenge, as a prerequisite to unlock that mission.
It would have been awesome to go around the school tagging or replacing the jocks posters, giving you an earlier introduction to tagging, and a nice parallel to Discretion Assured. You also could have gone around the school convincing students to vote for Earnest. This would have been easy for the Nerds and Bullies, since both like you at this point. The preps would never listen to you, and make sure to go against you. The Jocks obviously won't vote for Earnest either. So maybe you go around and do favors for some Greasers and non-clique students in the to give Earnest the advantage. Or maybe you can bribe students one way or another. Christy says elections are rigged with money, so that could play a part in it. But then Gary sets Earnest up to get thrown off the ballot, and Earnest personally blames you for everything. The Nerds still respect you, but Earnest schemes alone for Stronghold Assault.
All of those extra details from just one more mission, and one of the biggest plot holes in the entire game is fixed, and you get more character development and earlier tutorials. It could have been really fun!
Maybe Rockstar didn't put as much effort into Bully as the GTA games because they didn't think people would take it as seriously as the GTA games and knew it wouldn't be as popular as the GTA games. Rockstar will probably do an incredible job with Red Dead Redemption 2, Bully 2, Agent and GTA 6. That's why they're taking so long to develop games now.

I feel like the school election storyline should have had 3 - 4 more missions. Maybe one of them being trying to ruin Teds speech. Another one possibly being rigging the votes. I feel like ending it in chapter four would be great as it would be another reason for the Jocks to invade the observatory. That chapter is about the nerds and jocks anyway, so it would make perfect sense
About the weather, too:
I think that rain should have been more common in the fall, (beginning of the game. Also, these ratios are based on each day.)
Maybe a 1/3 chance for rain.
A 1/4chance in Chapter 2.
I don’t think rain is needed in winter. (Chapter 3)
A 1/5 chance in Spring. (Chapter 4)
A 1/5 chance in Chapter 5.
And Also, a 1/10 chance in Chapter 6.
(Because it’s summer.)
Another inconsistency in the map that you forgot to mention: the library. It has windows on the outside, but you can see none from the inside. It's inaceptable that a big company such as Rockstar would make such an inexcusable mistake. They should be glad that this goes mostly unnoticed.
About what you said regarding the weather: I agree 100% percent, but I found a way around this glitch, and even posted on the late Bully Board. Just do the lawn mowing job to get weather variations back during endless summer. But another thing that kind of ruined the game is how in Scholarship Edition, where they had much better softwares available, the weather is all the same. The only thing that changes are the colors of the clouds and the sky, but it's all the same sky dome. In the original version the sky actually changed, and they very MUCH better looking too.
And one more thing that ruined the game for me is how it spawns peds randomly, and there's not enough of them to fit the map. You can see the nerds and non-clique students literally EVERYWHERE AT ONCE in campus, and that ruins the sense of immersion for me.

I didn't mention cut content. I only brought three more points in which Rockstar kind of ruined Bully: the inconsistency between the interior and exterior of the Libray, to add to what TheNathanNs said in the video/how they worsened the weather variations in the Scholarship Edition in spite of having better hardwares/the uncontrolled spawning of peds.
Regarding the weather, what I said is: the PS2 version had different skies. It had a plain blue sky, a partially cloudy, a mostly cloudy and overcast skies. They were completely different from each other and all looked nice. In Scholarship Edition, however, they all look the same. The sky only changes the colors. Rockstar WORSENED the sky and made it incredibly lazy, even thought they had much less to work with in the PS2 version, where they put a lot more effort into it. The other problems I mentioned exist in all versions.
Really the biggest issue is how empty the game is. I've always loved this game, but fuck if I don't realize how boring it is.
You have all these locations which are essentially useless besides having to go there once or twice for a mission: The Library, the Harrington House, Greaser's Hideout, the Hole, the Girls Dorm, fuck, even the BOYS DORM--- all of these are useless, barren areas with nothing to do. Like it's absolutely silly how there's no incentive to go to any of these major locations. Giant chunks of the schoolyard is used for a few missions, then that's it: they serve no other purpose.
And before someone mentions the boy's dorm having stuff to do, yeah, you can play a single minigame and sit down and watch a broken fucking TV. So many fun things to do at a place where you have to be at a lot.
6:00 honestly I the game had multiple endings, like until dawn or telltale games, like there is a choice for Jimmy to Choose who to help and jimmy can got himself, and there are exact votes, for example let’s just say there is a mission to sabotage Ernest, Jimmy accomplishes it, and the jocks gain let’s just say 10 votes from this, AND JIMMYS VOTE CAN COUNT FOR LIKE 3, By messing around with the votes, this has to be optional idk but I want it to have multiple plots and your choices do matter

When it comes to the Tattoo removal, I guess Rockstar wanted to go with the realistic approach because I seriously don't believe that Jimmy can afford $50-$500 to get the job done. However, I do agree that the hat situation is bullsh*t, and Jimmy can afford to change his hair style, like any person can, while keeping the hat.

Bully: Anniversary Edition has little replay value for me. And with Bully: SE a 100.00% completion, it gets a bit stagnant. Would be better if those clique leaders would spawn in the map. And Mascot, always spawning at the football field after passing “Nice Outfit” only if Jimmy doesn’t have on the Costume, Const would spawn as the school mascot. A gynoecium, fun wish I want. The mascot is a heterogeneous character. Bob, he appears only in the intro of The Gym is Burning. Despite the simpering lines he had. He should’ve been in the final version. Especially because Jimmy’s opponent in the wrestling Gym class is only Fatty.. but the townie Omar, was developed from Bob’s gamete design instead. Townfolk that are occidently unused like

When it comes to girls and boys dorms, maybe the school had been struggling so bad that they are unable to keep students. Think of how Zoe got kicked out of the school for no reason and how Gary has so much favor with the principal that he can get jimmy in trouble for hear say.
No parent would keep their kids in this school with a staff that selects favorites and encourages bullying and toxic student cliches and power structures.

About the game's difficulty, we should not forget that this game was created in 2008 and back then gamers were not good so they did not do something wrong.

Should’ve named the video “5 things bully could’ve done better” because it’s a fantastic game.
1. characters not appearing in free roam when they have free roam dialogue
2. not being able to bully teachers, girls or little kids when they have dialogue for it
3. beta textures were cartoonier/comic-book-y and would have held up better graphics-wise than trying to look realistic.
4. Jimmy's face in Scholarship Edition is totally fucked up. He looks like a grown man. Some other face textures are off, too.
5. All the great Beta stuff that was removed, like the Halloween mission (which had a lot of great dialogue from Gary and Pete.)
6. Giving the girls a bigger dorm than the boys
7. Giving both Gary and Dr Crabblesnitch very little screen-time after chapter 2

One thing I would have liked is the girlfriend system or the GTA4 hang out with friends, the game feels lonely and empty (like my time at school) after you do all the missions
About the map, it's weird how close the asylum is to school and that you can get to blue sky in 2 minutes from the observatory but like 6 using the actual road to the asylum
I actualy like that you can't remove tattoos. Gives you that "You allready took it there's no going back now" feel. (I know you can remove them in real life but I doubt there is laser tattoo removal in Bullworth.)
When cornelious told johnny algie was at the pizza parlor he could have been trying to trick the greasers. If theres no pizza parlor in bullworth they could waste half an hour looking for algie before they realize there isn't one. This could buy the nerds a lot of time to escape.
Poor optimization, too. Why couldn't they make a game that wouldn't lag on even good PCs and would have better controls for those who don't need aim assist or target lock?

I can play games like Black Ops 3, Witcher 3, GTA V, Life is Strange BTS at 1080p medium to high settings at 45-60 FPS.
I can only play Bully on 1080p low settings at a unstable 60 FPS which drops to like 40 in Bullworth Town.
Gotta love how I can't play a 2008 game at a stable 60.
I actually thought it was too difficult to deal with prefects and wanted to be able to knock them out at some point. I hope if there's a sequel that your character can upgrade his skills to the point where it's easy enough for him to knock out a prefect or even a cop both hand to hand and with melee weapons. Was able to knock out prefects, but took a LOT of attempts.
Tbh the tattoo thing sounds like an intentional thing. I mean, adults tell teens all the time "once you get a tattoo, it's there forever!" so while it's inconvenient in terms of gameplay, it's almost funny thinking about it as a nod to that.
The difficulty fits well with the difficuly console-based controls where you have to turn your character aroudn with the arrow keys to follow a target and avoid hitting friendlies. When the game is over, there shouldn't necessarily be challenge. That's what game over means, you have lots of money, experience, bullets.
They added lazy console difficulty by automatically spawning police right next to the player when gets the highest wanted level.

They would have to remodel the hair to make sure it doesn't intersect with the hat. Some of the wavy combed hair have a significant volume. Aren't tattoos permanent by their nature?
There's also a game breaking glitch meaning that you cannot progress through the story on the Xbox One edition
To be fair, that's not really R*'s fault, that's Microsoft's emulator thing they use to get 360 games working on the One.
There's similar game breaking glitches on the "PCSX2" version.
A few problems I have so far.
1. The lunch lady isn't fired, or arrested when that lady should not be anywhere near kids, or adults.
2. The prefects seem to always know where you are and investigate whenever you try to pick a lock despite the fact they should not be able to see or hear you.
3. Despite being the main antagonist Gary completely disappears for like 2/3 of the game.
the inconsistency doesn't bother me that much, because it's jimmy telling telling the story. so things like the dorm being smaller on the inside could just be jimmy over exaggerating. the worst thing is the hair thing tho!
I get that it's Jimmy's story and not Ted/Earnest's, but the election could've been on the key points behind the events of chapter 4.

I bought this game way way back in the day, shortly after it first came out, because of all the hype surrounding it. I shelled out $50 of my hard earned money (I was 17 at the time, getting $50 was no easy feat), and sat down to one of the most boring games ive ever played. Love GTA (5 can suck a dick at this point though), and this definitely came off as a more youth oriented sandbox/open world type of game, it had some good ideas, and I'm not hating on the story, but it was just god awful boring! I did everything I could to have fun with this game, I played it every day for a week, hoping it would grow on me, but it never did. Just went right back to San Andreas, to remind myself that Rockstar does actually make fun games. (Argue with me all you want, you won't sway my opinion, I'm not coming back to respond anyway.)

At the end of the game I found the main character to be underpowered. Like water pistol and firecracker, OK but maybe I was used to GTA too much and expecting a SMG. In the end I was disappointed by all this "child's violence".
That's what you get with a game that's rated 'T' and based around a private school.

i always hated how every time i did some fooling around and hid in a trash bin, a prefect would go out of his way, run and stop directly in front of my bin, just to shout and go away

problems with attention to detail, but incredibly good fun...since then attention to detail has gotten far better with every R* game and the fun has decreased each time.
id rather fun to play than attention to detail, and think R* older games were just more enjoyable than the current ultra immersive games.
