When Changge was talking to her mother via alter, she said Ashlie Sun is her husband and then went off to save him from being decapited.So when Changge said "We don't need the red tape" I understood it as regarding the wedding and all the formalities that goes with a wedding ceremony. I love how free they are and devoted to one another.

Sun asked her mother for permission to marry her in a letter and Changge did her own little ceremony in front of her mother's spirit tablet, accepting Sun as her husband, and that's all that was needed for their union. The two are happy and just fine with that ❤

It's such a beautiful ending! Changge is finally free, free from all the expectations and constraints of being a princess, free to be who she wants to be, go where she wants to go with the man she loves. I could not think of a better ending for them! That beautiful soundtrack at the end, the flying eagle and those vast landscapes all represent this freedom.

Sun promised he would protect her freedom and happiness and this was just a portrayal of how Changge is not tied down by anyone or anything but living out her sense of adventure. At one point, Sun told Changge that she is like a wild horse and he would never try to stop her from doing what she wants to do. He only asked that she let him protect her and that she wouldn't run off into danger alone, that they would face problems together. The ending reinforces that Sun is with her, protecting her, but not tying her down. It's such a fitting ending for the two lead characters ❤
The phrase: "can you be more girlish?" 😂😂😂 meaning that.. That he wants to protect her... But then in another episode.. Channge saves him saying:"let ho my man!"!!!! 😂😂😂 Very girlish 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The scene where general Li reported Changge's death to the emperor gives me the biggest laugh.. Where he said Changge loves reading is just so funny..😂
Ashila Sun's character warms my heart. So many flaws in the drama but Wu Lei's and Dilraba's characters made it incredibly entertaining. Wu Lei has charisma, just like Xiao Zhan.
They stay together in the grasslands, she’s doing her thing and he sends the eagle letting her know he’s there protecting her. Remember he tells her he wants to protect her and care for her and he would never stop her to do what she wants. She tells him she wants to live with him in a place of no war and they leave together.
Li Changge and Sun really look good together. Sun looks handsome and gorgeous in everything that he wears. He also looks good with his hair down. I want to watch this c drama over and over again. The cast is wonderful. The team is also good. I also like Hao Du and Leyan. They also look good together. Love this c drama 💕.

Changge performed a quick "union" ceremony in front of her mother's spirit tablet and declared Sun her husband from that moment onward. They both agreed it was enough and that they did not need the traditional red tape. They also already had their kiss(censored with cute birdies 'n all). Nothing else will demonstrate true affection more powerfully than the understanding nature of their relationship and the sacrifices that these two made for one another throughout the drama, not the color red nor any lip-locking.

I'll be so happy to see them collaborate again in future projects. Oddly enough, I felt nothing for Leyan and Hao Du despite some claiming their chemistry was really good. They really bored me with their cheesy/bland interactions 😶

I have a lot to say about this film. All my life I watched kung fu films, in my opinion this was the best in terms of scenarios, characterizations, acting, settings, photography, costumes, music. Each character has an important role and its own impression, nothing is in vain. The music is powerful, can represent every moment of happiness, defeat, sadness, victory etc. Really great. More specifically there is a comic in it. There is rarely a character like Ashile Sun in Kung Fu films and it can be balanced with Li Changge's character. Absolutely adorable. Congratulations to the makers of this film, to the actors and actresses for their ideas, dedication, and sincerity in making such an impressive work. Before, I guess The Legend of Condor Heroes is my last love. But now, I fell in love with this film. I really hope there will be a sequel
I am with you. The ending was not a cliff hanger, but could be better, perhaps they can re-emerge after years of being away to help save the world together as husband and wife. 😍
I just finished watching The Long Ballad. I think the drama is very good, in terms of visuals & plot everything is very good. I can't forget this drama. All characters have a nice change. I really like the character of Chang ge because has a firm, brave, intelligent nature. I also like Ashina Sun's character. Wish there was a season 2😭🔥🤍🤍

I just finished watching this drama, I think this is the best drama with good storyline.. And the lead actors are really suit each other.. The ending also the director never rush it to finish..really nice drama and didn't get bored like other drama.. I did watch dilreba drama the kings women, and didnt happy about the ending though i like the king actor zhang bin and dilreba, but the ending is sad.. But long ballad really make me happy, nice drama.. Will definitely watch again..

Most beautiful war, political drama I ever watched. (because of cruelly and wrong doings I personally don't like political, war dramas but this drama completely change mind. )
They're already married. Both she and Sun agreed afterward that they were fine with that and didn't need the traditional red tape. They got married, just done differently from what is traditional. Changge's master, Situ, even called Sun his disciple-in-law.
IKR, i've read from some other comments section that they cut many scenes like their life after 3years which lessens the drama from 50episodes to 49episodes😪

She and Sun both later agreed that it was enough and that they did not need all the traditional "red tape". And they are clearly not living "dull lives". It's shown that the two are off on adventures in the grasslands, living freely and happily as they wish. A'Sun is there protecting Changge but letting her do as she wishes and not tying her down. It's a perfect ending. Not sure what more need be said for our two main characters.
The plot of Long Ballad reminds me of leaders with strong minds who never submitted to lure of power, riches and fame. Instead of preying on poor people, they would rather sacrifice for peace and the overall good of the community or the "dynasty". It also made me feel good how the story line focused on how the main characters shared a common goal (peaceful life, free of wars) despite differences in approaches in getting there. The alliance forged by the tribe leaders with stronger dynasties reminded me of how in reality, world wars were abated that kept peaceful living and spurred economic growth. ( it is sad that in some areas war still exist because of differences in ideology or deeply rooted enmity) I was excited to see how military strategies were planned out successfully with having good grasp of the terrain, territorial and weather condition, water beds, even the condition of the psychology of horses which were hungry and tired (i supposed this happened in real wars) was considered including submerging the charging foes in water. (Good research on successful strategies of generals in command). I also commend how a new approach of presenting the storyline, capturing huge confrontation and conflagration in still drawings and caricature formats with occasional live inclusion of major characters in the drawings. I consider it unique and refreshing. The cinematography was done superbly....I especially loved the long shots that eventually zoomed in ( including zooming out as well) which successfully showed the vast and beautiful scenery. Not to mention the various shots (top, side, low..whatever you may calll it - lol) capturing the right emotion in every scene. Even the capturing the long shot and eventually shifting to close up shot capturing an image or object...this was done a few times in kissing scenes and other brooding moments of the main character. And the minute shot (I call it the peeping shot- lol!...I am not familiar with the right term being a non-tech observer. ) was equally refreshing. The musical scoring was equally unique. The tribal voices and unique musical tones kept me on my toes for impending emotional scenes building up for the succeeding scenes particularly when chasing HouDu character was nearly catching up on Changgae. There is so much to be seen in this series. I was surprised to see how the roles fit to tee to most of the main characters and supporting roles. I couldn't take off from my mind the various scenes these actors were playing....the right emotions and body language were captured and delivered what scenes required. The astonishingly beautiful lead character (a uniquely non-Chinese look) blended in with other actors and has convincingly played her role with consistency until the end. And the male lead role (who rose from child roles to this matured and feared character) was equally captivating in his role and comes majestic in every adornment, clothes, hairstyles, and headress he was wearing. Do I need to say more!!!?😄 Overall, I love how this drama was done... Thank you for bringing this excellent project.
A lot of people didnt satiesfied woth the ending, but i think it was clear from their conversation and all, they end up together. I think to make people still read the manhua, they weren't too explicit too show the happy ending with married scene. Yeah, so it is a happy ending, not an open ending for my opinion.

Most beautiful war, political drama I ever watched. (because of cruelly and wrong doings I personally don't like political, war dramas but this drama completely change mind. )

They're already married. Sun asked her mother for permission to marry her by way of letter and Changge performed a little ceremony in front of her mother's spirit tablet to mark their union and then accepted Sun as her husband. Both she and Sun agreed afterward that they were fine with that and didn't need the traditional red tape. They got married, just done differently from what is traditional. Changge's master, Situ, even called Sun his disciple-in-law.

IKR, i've read from some other comments section that they cut many scenes like their life after 3years which lessens the drama from 50episodes to 49episodes😪

Yeah it was all perfect , eventhough they give us that kind of ending atleast we know they have each other till death do they part... Still my best CP to be remembered... GESUN in Grassland or Central Plains

This drama never fails to make me moved, hurt and cry, so painful, so beautiful, like my chest wants to explode... even though I've watched it many times it still feels the same, I really like this drama and really ❤this couple Reba and Leo Wu, I hope they (Reba and Leo) can collaborate again in other dramas or tv shows. 🙏😍aameen

After all the excitement how will they live such dull lives .
...there was already a small, non-traditional wedding. Changge performed a "union" ceremony in front of her mother's spirit tablet for herself and Sun and proclaimed him as her husband from that moment onward. She and Sun both later agreed that it was enough and that they did not need all the traditional "red tape". And they are clearly not living "dull lives". It's shown that the two are off on adventures in the grasslands, living freely and happily as they wish. A'Sun is there protecting Changge but letting her do as she wishes and not tying her down. It's a perfect ending. Not sure what more need be said for our two main characters.

The plot of Long Ballad reminds me of leaders with strong minds who never submitted to lure of power, riches and fame.
Instead of preying on poor people, they would rather sacrifice for peace and the overall good of the community or the "dynasty".
It also made me feel good how the story line focused on how the main characters shared a common goal (peaceful life, free of wars) despite differences in approaches in getting there.
The alliance forged by the tribe leaders with stronger dynasties reminded me of how in reality, world wars were abated that kept peaceful living and spurred economic growth. ( it is sad that in some areas war still exist because of differences in ideology or deeply rooted enmity)
I was excited to see how military strategies were planned out successfully with having good grasp of the terrain, territorial and weather condition, water beds, even the condition of the psychology of horses which were hungry and tired (i supposed this happened in real wars) was considered including submerging the charging foes in water. (Good research on successful strategies of generals in command).
I also commend how a new approach of presenting the storyline, capturing huge confrontation and conflagration in still drawings and caricature formats with occasional live inclusion of major characters in the drawings. I consider it unique and refreshing.
The cinematography was done superbly....I especially loved the long shots that eventually zoomed in ( including zooming out as well) which successfully showed the vast and beautiful scenery. Not to mention
the various shots (top, side, low..whatever you may calll it - lol) capturing the right emotion in every scene. Even the capturing the long shot and eventually shifting to close up shot capturing an image or object...this was done a few times in kissing scenes and other brooding moments of the main character. And the minute shot (I call it the peeping shot- lol!...I am not familiar with the right term being a non-tech observer. ) was equally refreshing.
The musical scoring was equally unique. The tribal voices and unique musical tones kept me on my toes for impending emotional scenes building up for the succeeding scenes particularly when chasing HouDu character was nearly catching up on Changgae.
There is so much to be seen in this series. I was surprised to see how the roles fit to tee to most of the main characters and supporting roles. I couldn't take off from my mind the various scenes these actors were playing....the right emotions and body language were captured and delivered what scenes required. The astonishingly beautiful lead character (a uniquely non-Chinese look) blended in with other actors and has convincingly played her role with consistency until the end. And the male lead role (who rose from child roles to this matured and feared character) was equally captivating in his role and comes majestic in every adornment, clothes, hairstyles, and headress he was wearing.
Do I need to say more!!!?😄

A lot of people didnt satiesfied woth the ending, but i think it was clear from their conversation and all, they end up together. I think to make people still read the manhua, they weren't too explicit too show the happy ending with married scene. Yeah, so it is a happy ending, not an open ending for my opinion.
