We'll put a happy little intoxicated man over here. Yeah. Right there in his cottage with his glass of wine. Yeah.
I just won't to know how to make wwine
Omg!! Your tutorials are amazing!!
The best of the best!
Glad you think so!
really a nice way to remove sludge ,making the things so smooth ,and on top of all beautiful explanations ,thanks a lot .
I even filter the wine after this point but I haven't filmed that video because it requires what some might consider "pricy equipment". 😂 But I think it's worth it. Especially considering the fact that wine only gets better with age.
Dude, it's totally awesome! Got full knowledge! Now I just have to practice more and more to make perfect wine.
Thanks buddy! Love from India! ❤️
You're welcome! 🍻
Strong work sir. Appreciate the videos. We closed our brewery 2yrs ago and have been back to home brewing like mad scientists. This month we’ve ventured into wine and are enjoying the research and similarities!
Oh, wow! Thanks. I noticed some time ago that there wasn't a very good instructional presence on RUclips about making wine so I dove in and made some. I also fine my wine with a Buon Vino mini jet filtration system but these are good basic tutorials to get most folks by.
@@PMGK have you ever used Biofine liquid to drop out and clarify wine? We used it in brewing on large and small batches. Just wondering if it works in both.
@PMGK HI what was that funny shaped piece on the drill called again? The part you stired the wine with.
Thanks for the videos. These are very helpful.
You are welcome!
Looks awesomely good!❤️
Thank you 😋
This just looks like so much fun. I have friends that enjoy this Hobby. Following your videos have made it more interresting.
Can't wait to see how you filter though it look clear enough to bottle.
Unfortunately, this is probably going to be the last video in this series. I originally planned on filming the filtering and bottling stage, too, but I'm not getting the views. This project has been fun but difficult and very time consuming to film because of the duration of time wine takes to ferment and process but, I have over 130k subscribers and I can't even get 1k to watch so, I'm done.
I will tell you, though, the filtering I'm doing isn't cheap. I use a Buon Vino mini jet wine filter and this guy has the best tutorial on it: ruclips.net/video/8Z_PQKh8sUM/видео.html
The cheap way to filter is to just use a Chinois Strainer and Cone filters:

Buon Vino: amzn.to/33aNOBZ

Clear and clean
Very good instructions
Looks great, good instructions.
Nothing but the best, just ask me, I'll tell ya!!!
Thats amazing! Well, now i know what im gonna make during the winter 😂 thanks a bunch man 🔥💨😎
Your welcome. I'm just stoked that someone is actually watching this wine series. I originally planned on making two more videos but the views aren't coming in. But, I've got more detailed info on my website so, be sure to check that out. poormansgourmetkitchen.com/how-to-make-wine-part-1-the-primary-stage.html
@@PMGK my wine tastes like over aged pickle what to do throw it throw
Well done! I was thinking about getting a nice filter machine but then racking the wine often does indeed do a sound job! I tried pear wine and the haze look is settling after 3 rackings and adding some campden tabs. Pretty good job all around. Thanks for sharing!
The difference between racking and filtering is the look of a washed car and a waxed polished car. I have a filter and I use it for fining. It doesn't make the wine taste any better but it looks better and is much more impressive when your bragging to friends and family members about your homemade wine. 😂 check out my story board on Instagram instagram.com/s/aGlnaGxpZ2h0OjE3ODcyMjI0Nzk5NjE4MzUw?story_media_id=2275908432375396535_1614440781&igshid=MTc4MmM1YmI2Ng==

Superb tips 👍
Glad you like it 🍻
Very nice video Sir
Thx 😎🍻
Brilliant video. Using it to make British Sloe wine, will let you know how it goes 🙂 Honestly saved me from wasting more fruit.
Can I please ask as to how long each stage roughly takes?
It varies on your desired results but there's a link, in the description of these wine making videos, that will take you to my notes about the dates and time frame, making this wine.
Wonderful
Thank you! Cheers!
"Or compost for all I care" 🤣🤪😋
Thanks for your amazing videos! Do you have any tips on reducing head space in the carboys?
Why do you need to reduce head space?
@@PMGK maybe they didn’t fill the carboy up to the bung far enough initially… it’s a fairly common mistake for beginners.
Thank you. I tried making wine using your recipe and it turned out awesome. I had a query, in any case is Methanol is produce while fermentation using yeast?
Glad to hear. The fermentation doesn't create methanol, it creates carbon dioxide. 🍷
Inspiring 🍷
Hey, you watched almost the whole wine series. Congratulations!

Thanks for lovely video .Can we use honey for back sweetening?
Yes
Found some jars in my grandpas tinker room and i knew at one point he was making alcohol down there but I wasn't expecting to find any. It's still got that sentiment in the bottom and I was curious what it was. But now I know :)
Crack it open and smell it. If it doesn't smell like vinegar, it's probably good wine. 🍷
Interesting video but what a long time to make. I think I’ll just buy my wine. 😊
I still do both.
Thanks for your videos! Just subscribed im going to try making my own wine. Did you say i can use potassium sorbate by itself and it would be enough to put the yeast to sleep?? Im scared my bottles will blow up thanks in advance
Yes you can but this really is only a concern if you're back sweetening and introducing more sugar for the yeast to consume. Most of the yeast will be gone anyway, as it settles on the bottom when you rack the wine off.
thanks
Np
خوشحالم که پیج و کانال شما رو دنبال میکنم و چیزهای بیشتری از شما یاد میگیرم. سپاسگزارم 👍
You're sure welcome. I'm glad to see it's helping, even with our language barriers.
I tossed three bags of grapes and two rotten apples into my juicer, threw out the slop, dumped 7 gallons of water and about 9 sugar lbs with several yeast packets, and put them on the radiator. Should I stir it occasionally? the sugar is settled.
It looking real good . Tell me how do you get dry wine.?
Don't back sweeten the wine, for dry wine.
Great videos, thanks for sharing!!!
Could you maybe let me know where to get this fermenter?
Amazon
Couldn’t find it there (I’m in Germany)…😬
Could you please tell me the exact name/manufacturer? I would really like to get one of those 😊

THE WINES LOOKING SO GOOD , THE PEACH WINE NICE HAVE YOU EVER MADE APRICOT OR BLACKBERRY WINE ? SOUNDS IF THEY WOULD BE DELICIOUS NICE VIDEO THANK YOU
No but you can make practically any fruit wine you desire.
Is this how commercial wineries are made? You should have your own vineyard.🏆
Wine making varies but, yes, some commercial wines are made like this. 🍷
I've made 2 batches of peach wine using different recipes but never much cared for them, I'll try again and back sweeten this time. I would love to see you make a video recipe of your version of peach wine.
The peach wine is easy and it's done exactly the same way I filmed this wine series, only I used peaches and raisins, instead, to give the wine more body.
👌
_"Don't taste test too much"_ like that's gonna happen 😛🍷
True story 😎🍻
Sir how I order for the tools ,love ur vedio is informative
Check description
I rack my mix just once then they all go into the freezer. When solid ice forms I do frozen distillation, removing excess water from it thus doubling the ABV. I repeat the process till the mix hardly freezes over, then I'm done. Most impurities remain in the solid ice which i throw
How much wine you get in the end by doing this. I guess 30% . 70% loss .not so good
What app do you use ? And and what conversion chart are you using ,please tell me ? Thank you .
ABV table charts usually come with the hydrometer or you can just google an "Image" and download or screenshot the pic. As far as the app goes just search for an "ABV calculator".
Although multiple rackings will help clarify the wine, won't that unnecessarily expose it to O2 and make it age prematurely/potentially cause it to turn to vinegar? I used to rack multiple times, but then found out if I let it settle for about 3 months it practically clears itself. Have thought about trying a fining agent like bentonite clay too. Great video!
It would take hours of exposure to cause any real damage. Though you're correct about the wine clarifying itself to some degree, the bentonite still helps the clarification. So does fining, for that matter but I haven't filmed anything about filtering yet.
@@PMGK That's good to know. I was always afraid that even a little bit of exposure to oxygen could cause problems. Thanks!
🌹
What steps do you use to stop yeast?
Campden + potassium sorbate ? Or brandy?.
Can I use Campden + Potassium Sorbate?
Yes but I don't add the Campden until I'm ready to bottle.
Just one more glass of the red!
Always! 🍷
---Help Requested---
I brewed Cranberry wine about a month ago with ' real' brand cranberry juice and regular yeast. Brewed it in dark atmosphere with proper airlock facility, after a week i filtered the yeast out of the brew via muslin cloth. For few days i still saw bubbles rising from the bottom in my brew, it's been a month now and i haven't consumed even a sip of it. Today i saw some kind of weird thing at the bottom like you get layer on milk (can't explain in words) i took a sip and it kinda tastes harder than before. Is it just aging or has the brew been ruined, now i wanna consume the wine but don't know whether it'll get me into hospital or high???
It's just sediment and it's a regular occurrence.
Were would you recommend getting one of those ABV calculators i looked on Amazon did not find it there thanks
There are dozens of ABV calculator apps in the google playstore and apple istore.
Im new ro this hobby and im learning every time i make a new wine, but why does the different wine flavors all smell tue same and not like the fruit that it was made from?? Also will the wine taste like the fruit after it ages?
The goal is to make Alcohol and this is a bit of a forced process to get the fermenting process to speed up with the added yeast and sugar, which gives a higher Alcohol content and in turn effects the smell. Adding water makes the wine go farther and effects the taste and smell as well, making it less concentrated. Straight fruit juice only will yield a stronger smell and flavor that can be more accurately identified when the wine isn't watered down. Try making your wine with more fruit juice and no water next time and you will see a noticeable difference. 🥂
What is that Carboy with the Union called, not seen anything like that in the UK
It's called a Fermenter.
What is thumb rule for how much water to be added for 10 pound grapes and sugar aswell for making wine ?
10 pounds of great will make about 2 gallons of wine but you need to back up to my first video in this series because the sugar and water amount are going to vary on your desired results. ruclips.net/video/GjRn619YVh0/видео.html
I want to clarify my wine at home. Should I search for a food grade bentonite or can any type work?
As long ad its not kitty litter, any straight bentonite should be fine. I order through amazon.
Great video! After you rack into a new carboy, do you add water to bring the level up to the top of the carboy again (minimising headspace and room for oxygen)?
No, it's not necessary. Adding water only deludes the wine and waters it down. The more fruit juice, the better, less water, even better. The wine will have more body in doing so.
@@PMGK thanks that's what I thought, wasn't able to find a straight answer. Thanks for clearing it up :)
What was the funny shaped piece on the drill that he stired the wine with?
"The Whip" is a Wine Degasser and I use it to stir as well because that's what it does. It whips and stirs the wine. 😉 amzn.to/3Ht58HW
Here's the exact one I bought and used in the video and it's $4 dollars cheaper. amzn.to/4b1RXLN
I've bought Bentonite before and I threw them out because I thought it didn't work for me, I just remembered that I didn't know how to use it!
I make 6 gallon of red wine. How long do I need to keep the bentonite to clear the wine completely?
24 hours
@@PMGK Thanks!
Does not the reusing if the sediments in New wine affect the taste of that wine?
Not enough to notice. Think of it like a start for sour dough bread.
What size stopper are you using on your demijohns?
6 and 6.5 both work well.
What kind of clip was that on your syphener?
It's just a hose clip: www.amazon.com/BAIRONG-Clamp-Adjustable-Water-Control/dp/B099MXTDSD/ref=mp_s_a_1_6_sspa?keywords=hose+clip&qid=1668030573&sr=8-6-spons&psc=1
How much of campden and potassium sorbate did you use per gallon?
Thanks for the video! Nicely explained.🙂
All wines with these preservatives and if stored properly then what's their shelf life? Some say 2 years some say 10 years some say forever... I never get a correct answers on Google. 🤪
That's because there are many variables to be considered for shelf life storage; sanitation, storage temps, sunlight etc. 1 Campden tab and is good for 5 gallons of wine and 1/2 tsp of Potassium Sorbate per gallon.
@@PMGK thank you!
Can you add bentonite at the beginning of the fermentation?
No
How many times should u rack your wine before u finally bottle it.
The longer it sits, the more it settles so rack once, at a minimum and, if you're patient, a 2nd time if you clarify using bentonite. If you use a fermenter, you don't have to rack at all. The sediment can easily be removed in the catch jar at the bottom.
how much gram Bentonite is necessary for 10 liter cloudy cider? and how much water to dissolve bentonite?
Great question: The recommended mix is 3 tablespoons of Bentonite to 1 pint of boiling water. It is then recommended that you add 1 to 2 tablespoons of the slurry mix to each gallon of wine that is to be treated.
How much Potassium Sorbate do you to your invert sugar?
Always more info on my website. Link in description.
You have made to love wine making.Wow like doing it cheap.
...and grape season is upon us!
Can you tell me how many grams Bentonite, Metabisulfite and Sulfate to each liters
There's always more information on my website. Link is in the video description. 🥂
How much of the potassium sorbate do you add to the syrup to kill the yeast?
It depends. Just know that you need 1/2 tsp PS per gallon of wine.
would pectic enzyme help clear this up?
It is suppose to help with the pectin haze, yes. I usually add it before to help the color and yield juice extraction but it is also added, by some, afterwords to encourage suspended solids to precipitate out of the wine. 🍷
isnt the purpose of the fermentor to keep the wine in there until its fully clarified? No racking necesarry?
Yes and no. It's great long term storage but the sediment doesn't just settle in the masaon jar, it sticks to the sides too, and it comes out with the wine when fittings are exchanged for a spout.
after primary ferment couldn't you just cold-crash and then bottle?
Yep, that's another way to do it.
Before bottling the wine can i add honey to my fruit wine to add the sweetness in it?
blog.homebrewing.org/how-to-sweeten-wine-with-honey/
Hi there, how much grams of potassium sorbate is added to a litre of wine?
You can Google exact amounts.
I had no idea they used Bentonite in wine making....bentonite is a clay...but most know it as cat litter! LMAO cat litter wine. keep them coming love your videos. your voice is hypnotic and calming..
If people even knew what goes in their food, they'd loose their minds! For example, some companies add plaster of paris to cottage cheese, as a thickening agent. California has outlawed this.
2:40 Bentonite is similar to what is used for CAT LITTER
.
WHAT KIND OF YEAST IS USED FOR THE FRUIT WINE OR PEACH WINE. THANKS
Google wine yeast and you'll see it.
I want to buy the first bottle ❤️❤️❤️
It's really good, actually, but very illegal for me to sell. Unfortunately, I'm not even allowed to gift it through the mail. :(
Well, I will just have to make it then. ❤️
Don't do that.
What is the name of the jar that collected the sediment?
If you're talking about the jar on the bottom of the fermenter, there is no special name for it and it's just a standard Mason style jar fitting.
How do you top up your wine when racking?
I don't. You always lose a little.
What is the best yeast for wine?
Any yeast, technically, can be used but they actually make "Wine Yeast"!
Hmmm, I like your three videos here, but I was thinking, and this is for a filtering thought, what would happen to a wine if you filtered with plain yogurt and drink the whey, like Soma is made? Also, I make vinegar, and bubbly vinegar from mushrooms 🍄.
I have never tried that with wine. The next step, honestly, is to use an actual filtering system. I have one but I haven't filmed it because it results in advertising the company that makes the filter and they're not willing to compensate me for my time.
@@PMGK wonder if you can clear up vinegar and whey? Thanks by the way!
Can I add brandy to my red wine to fortify it ? And do I add it after clearing it ???
If you add Brandy to the wine before it has finished fermenting, it will produce a sweet fortified wine. For a dryer fortified wine, the brandy must be added after the fermentation has finished.
Poor Man's Gourmet Kitchen also. With bentonite do I add before or after ?
For example I have one bucket where it’s fermentation and I’m going to move it in a carboy later so I was wondering can I use bentonite two times to clear and allow everything to drop down.
What is simple syrup you added
Dissolve 1 part sugar in 1 part hot or boiling water to make simple syrup.

I don’t know what you’re filming with, but audio and video is top notch with a distinct vibe.
I'm glad you think so but the truth is I'm just using a cheap camera from Walmart and an old Dell computer with the XP operating system for editing. 😂
@@PMGK legend! Goes to show with good audio mixing and some solid camera work, don’t need the latest and greatest to make quality content.
Hello, I just done 1st fermentation and split juice and kept it in the 15lt glass bottle and hold it about 1 month with air stopper. After this Bottom of glass had many sediment . I opened it and check sugar level it showed about 1.000 (from 1083). But during 1st clarifying i want taste, it smell like wine but tastes like sour, is it normal? I don't use any other ingredients just grapes.
Yes, now get it off that sediment and racket to another bottle for the secondary stage.
@@PMGK Thanks for answer, I thought sour taste normal for fermentated wine , but how can i identify wine is going to vinegar or not , am I doing wrong or not?
It won't turn into vinegar unless it's got a leak, absorbing oxygen.
@@PMGK Hello, i am about clarifying my wine but don't know can I use just only Metabisulfhite ( aka Campden) instead Bentonite to clarify wine and rid off cloudiness or Metabisulfhite won't clarify my wine ?
Can any fruit be made into wine?
I will be living in rural Thailand where rice, mango, longan, banana, and pawpaws and other fruit is abundant.
They do make their own rice whiskey which kicks like a donkey.
Most fruits, yes.
Thanks for sharing how to make grape wine and clarifying. You had explained very well too. Can you please tell me where can I buy siphon for transferring wine from one bottle to another. Thanks in advance. Is it available in dollar store or Wal-Mart or home depot.
I recommend this one because it has a hose, hose clamp and a wine bottle wand that I demonstrate in Part 4 of this How to make Wine video series. It makes all the difference: amzn.to/3kdfcYa
You can also get a 10ft hose in plumbig from home depot for less than $3
