I'll give it to you Aussies on building impressive high performance engines. Your engine building process goes beyond expectations. Deburring a brand new, cleaning and then lay down some paint. Well mate! That's top notch work. 👍🇦🇺
My favorite motor. I’ve got a 0.030 Cleveland with the Parker funnel web intake, mechanical roller cam custom ground off of the BBC. TRW forged flat top pistons. 3/8” oil line from front of engine block to number 5 main oil galley. 4-V closed chamber heads with the tongues. Low 9’s on a 175 shot. I would’ve never thought my 86 mustang would’ve ever been this fast with such a simple setup. Great video. Thanks.
Beautiful. It’s an absolute Delight to see professional Men doing a Proper Job. This attention to detail is much lacking these days and I for one really appreciate what you are doing.
I have a 391 Cleveland. In a 65 Ford f100, 4 speed,5.18 rear end. Stock form with those gears is a torque monster. I can't imagine if it's stroker. The truck has only 25k. My grandpa ordered it to pull 5th wheel, goose neck camper trailer and was only used for that.
The Romac is primarily used for controlling engine harmonics as a vibration damper. For a internally balanced engine it would be a “0” imbalance or neutral balanced.
Ok, confused...why the 3-valve nomenclature? It is a 2-valve engine. Ford used the 2v 4v to denote the smaller valve port 2v vs the larger valve, port 4 v is this then a middle-of-the-road head or, something else?
@@juliennacer8871 Ok, but what does 3v mean? Why give it a designation of 3v unless they are trying to suggest a hybrid or a compromise between the 2v and 4v. In the US, we are all very aware of the valve sizes, ports, flow numbers, and chamber sizes, between the 2v and 4 v so 3v means a lot to us...thanks
In Ford nomenclature, "V" stands for Venturi, more commonly called a barrel. The 4V factory head came with a 4 barrel carb; the 2V with a 2 barrel carb. The head mfgr is using "3V" to indicate that it's between the factory 2V and 4V heads in valve and port size.
Canadian Selkirks or Washington state Selkirks? I'm a Washington Selkirk hunter/explorer/prospector And yeah the 3V head is meant as an in-between sized head. You get the best of both worlds, the low end torque/street ability of a 2V but with closed chamber combustion chambers, and also the massive valves and air flow of the 4V. An Australian company called CHI makes them and the intakes that fit them.
When I look at the front of the Cleveland block , there is a horseshoe shape in the casting .which sticks out like an inch and a half , where the timing cover bolts on. On the block you are showing here it looks more like a Windsor with the Windsor style timing cover . Why is that ? Just wondered. Thanks
Sean Madill the block used for this build is an aftermarket SHP Windsor block with a 9.2” deck height. As you pointed out the front of the block is quite a bit different than a Cleveland block.

Ford Windsor and Cleveland engine blocks have the same cylinder bore centerline spacing and head bolt locations which makes it very easy to use superior flowing canted valve Cleveland heads on Windsor blocks. The combination is commonly known as a Clevor engine. OEM and aftermarket Windsor blocks are more plentiful and the extra.300”deck height (9.200” Cleveland, 9.500” Windsor) makes getting more displacement easier with additional stroker kit combinations. Modern aluminum alloy blocks with Cleveland specific architecture featuring upgraded priority main bearing oiling and choice of deck heights are now being produced in an American foundry. All machine work and sales are being handled by Timothy Meyer. tmeyerinc.com
@@danielwilson6665 All that is true but this is still not a Cleveland style block it's a Windsor. Do I need to explain the difference or show you pictures?
@@terraboundmisfit , there’s nothing in my comment that suggests that this is a Cleveland block. I simply pointed out the identical dimensions that both blocks have in common. The block shown in this article is clearly an aftermarket Windsor design and there’s really no need for you to illustrate the point any further.
@@terraboundmisfit Mate these blocks are a combination of Cleveland and Windsor, more Cleveland as it has a Cleveland crank, heads and manifold.Dart and world blocks are a copy of Ford Motorsport block that Ford replaced the Cleveland for Nascar and drag racing

Well if that don't sell a engine I don't know what would, nice 550 package will do me thanks. Beautiful work.
Bad ass! Really nice breakdown on a meticulous build.
Yeh, I like that lifter choice, those needle bearings must be stouter also, nice looking piece of kit that.
Beautiful as always.
What are the camshaft specs?
Was there a Dyno video of this?
Will you share your bore and stroke for this 434?
What brand head gaskets and compression ratio do u run on this comb??
wheres the follow up vids? what a motor it will be
That isn't a 351 Cleveland but a Winsor block!
It's a Clevor build as stated in the video
Yes, a clevor..SHP, Nascar copy..,
Yea the video title throws ya out. It says cleveland. But yea in the vid he says clevor, aka a clevo headed windsor.
First class with attention to detail!
What is the purpose of the punch marks on the China walls?
I really like this Mhota.
Wish i could purchase one of these blocks but no longer available 😢
What effect does having the pin intrude up into the oil ring galley have on the piston?
It increases the length of the stroke.
Allowing for a longer rod.
@@rightnews339 They didn’t show it but I assume they must run a piston pin button vs a retainer?
I thought the Cleveland block had the water thermostat housing beside the distributor hole.
It does. But you can put Cleveland Heads on a Windsor block which is used in this case you just have to do a slight modification to the heads.
@@lorenzomaximo1818 - So this engine is a Clevor?

Yes it’s a Windsor block that will have Cleveland heads on it.

Its a Dart SHP windsor block but they can use Cleveland heads
Good video . I'm interested in the cost of one these engines also
Romak balancer, but you said it was internally ballanced? Running a romak on my 77 AMC 401 that one is in my 49 Willys 4X wagon

What does it cost to build a 434 with that hp
About 25K check out pavtek they do a 434 package

Why didnt you drill more drainback holes in the valley where the ather lobes miss oil.
I wonder why no one has done any turbo cleveland small block 🤔

nothing to do with 3 valve. the '3v' refers to the type of cleveland cylinder head it is.
