i get a funny feeling seeing a cessna with retractable gear
me too
Logan Curran mhm
Same
*confused screaming*
(Yes i know it's a dead meme)
Cessna 210 retractable gear standard
Still one of the greatest RUclips playlists ever. Crazy to watch this vid after the entire world flight series. Have re watched it many times 👍
“This isn’t any old rain storm, this is a hail storm”.
Me who lives in Scotland. This is just a normal Tuesday night
know how u feel pal
Same here in nepal
In July
not in Edinburgh :P
Louis, highly recommend getting a few flying lessons before embarking on this trip. If anything was to happen to JP while in flight, you need to know what to do. It'll save your life!
I SECOND THAT! i take my dad flying a lot and even though im perfectly healthy i made him get a few lessons just in case.
Andrew Mccravy
Good advice...
Also, solo around the world is not that common. Subscribe to Matt Guthmiller
100% agree!
You need or more than a few lessons. You need a pilot's licence, an instrument rating, competency and currency in flying.
Andrew Mccravy u
"Live The AirVenture"
You could maybe name it in memory of Numidia: "The Numidifier"
Francesco Gozzelino I
its a Cessna 210 Centurion!!!
We had some guys from New Jersey and they flew a plane around the world they flew halfway around the world and then they sold it to two other guys and took it the rest away around the world that was for liability reasons and they couldn't retractor gear until they burned off so much fuel the biggest fear was the Saint Elmo's Fire they thought they had a engine fire in the middle of the Pacific Ocean
Thank you
Wrong Cessna 172 rg
@@freespiritaviation6221 it's a 210
FreeSpiritAviation 210 not 172
Planey McPlane-Face obviously :-)
Boaty
:)
Texas and Oklahoma don't mess around with their storms! Glad y'all made it through just fine. Plane looks great!
"It kind of gives you a tickle in your balls." has got to be one of my favorite statements ever made in these vlogs. Pretty excited to see the video of the plane ride around the world. :)
Cessna with retractable gear this is creeping me out
Louis just wanted to say that you inspired me to do the things that I've always wanted to do but was to scared to try. Just got my A license for skydiving, and will be starting my pilots license soon! You've helped me realize that spending money on experiences rather than tangible items is the true way to happiness.
Who's money??? Donations from you people. Live the life at no expense to yourself!!!!
Dream of a lifetime to do something like this ,enjoy the adventure guys !
You should name it "The Spirit Of Fun Louis"
Waaay UNDERRATED. This is Brilliant! 🤣
You couldn't pay me enough to fly over the ocean in a SINGLE engine aircraft! I would love more info on the plane, looks like a Cessna 210. Must have extended or larger tanks, constant speed prop, retractable gear, and a lot of horses.
Also you guys should show your flight plan on how you would travel across to Europe and what not! Give the aviation people something moreeee!
Wolfgang thanks you're the man!
I think it is a 177 RG Cardinal
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cessna_177_Cardinal
And: yes, this would not be the preferred ac to cross over wide oceans. Personally I think he should go for a 337 Skymaster instead.
mectechman1 No 337 that thing is a flying brick way to much fuel Flow for what speeds you get better get a Bonanza its faster with less fuel and you van still Carry enough druff and they Are Build very well
"The Flying Betty" would be a cool name :)
Just found your channel. as a retired airline pilot I'm very excited for your trip around the world. The 210 is a very capable aircraft. I think you have chosen well. Can't wait for all the videos! Safe travels! Or as we liked to say, fly fast and take chances! Not really😎👍
Oklahoma has really strange weather I would know from experience it may be a tornado on Tuesday and blue skys the next
Missouri ain't no better, can be 100 degrees Fahrenheit one day then the next its 40
Lkohlb but you guys don’t get a ton of tornadoes every week
@@JustPlainRex we dont get a ton but still quite a bit, cause we still are in tornado alley
Lkohlb I’m pretty sure we are almost the derect center of the tornado valley tiki guys are a little bit away
@@JustPlainRex yes I didn't say we got a lot but we still get them more then other places
I watched World Flight a second time. It was even better. What an awesome job from JP and Louis.
déjà vu
Oh tu parles français?
Max Schmitz / iShootLikeKatniss Bien sur qu il y a des français :)
E
French boy oui oui
Always nice to see dreams solidify into reality! The plane is much smaller than I imagined you would need for such a long journey! Good luck!
I thought at first this was some kind of regular Cessna so when it pulled up its landing gear I was amazed
The other replies were not there for what ever reason when I made mine. Now that I can see the others, it makes yours make a lot more sense and I completely agree. It seems like a nice plane, but nothing great like maybe a Columbia or I think it is called the 400 now.
The Cessna 210 is five passengers, that looks like the Centurion 172RG from Cessna as it only has two side windows. The 210 has three.
FYI It's a Cessna 182 RG
That is a Cessna 210 Centurion. A 182 is a Skylane, has wing struts unlike the 210, and only has 4 seats. Also, not all 210s have 3 windows. Only the pressurized 210s have 3
And the 172RG is a Cutlass
this is so amazing! It's awesome to see how far you've come, and this idea of buying a plane to travel around the world is unreal. best of luck!
Some questions... Pre-purchase inspection ?, Aviation lawyer ? Independent mechanic ?
F900EX they make it like buying a car... too easy
Yeah, I would also get an inspection first. A bit foolish.
Louis doesn't know much about planes, JP has much more knowledge. Louis did have the plane inspected by a trusty mechanic before finalizing the purchase. Frankly I don't know of anyone who doesn't have a used plane inspected before buying one.
Absolutely Awesome Louis 👌🏾
Purchased your very first plane !
That's so wicked 👍🏽
Get your ass down here to South America dude!

Who wouldn't want to tour the world in The Great 'Adventour'!! I think that would be a kool name for the plane. Safe travels guys 👊
what happen? why's it reuploaded
but what about 7:07...thats low flying right?
Heisenberg 233 yeah it is but there was another clip that was a little worse
Seriously ? That's retarded...
sajisama24 legally, you can go lower that what they flew but he doesn't want to make a bad image o himself or others.
William Wright oh cheers.
PEACE, the plane should be named Peace!! Really proud of your ideas and plans to the future !! Please continue !! You go far, bro
2:17 I love how he can just perch his headphones on his dreads 😂😂
2:24 "it sounds so bad!" "i think it is bad!" why am laughing so hard at this 😂
Who else has this weird habit to pick up his accent after watching some of his videos? 😂
Nobody you weirdo
Only just seen this, need to watch all your follow ups, absolutely awesome dude 🤙
NAME THE PLANE Luis Force one

the lone star ( texas )
I love the way Louis lives in the moment. It works for him.
Planey McPlaneface
Wow....... A really nice piece of kit guys !!Even the planes on my flight sim don't have a beautiful paint job like that. All the best wishes for your big trip......
"Als und Beinbruch !!!"
isnt this the same vlog as yesterday?
screenager20 yea but what's the justification?
Some say it was because they speculated about the pricetag and how he could afford it.
thats BS. he raised the money on Kickstarter part of that 100k was to cover buying or leasing a small plane
But this plane set him back 200k+. Explain that for someone that doesn't 'work'
Patreon and a small income via RUclips.
Saving up the money he gets + sponsorship.
Only living with friends etc.
If he had an "actual job" we'd all have heard about it by now. Like (Hey guys gals, so, I got some news to share, I got a job.... at NASA, so now I can travel the world, even more!)
So funny to see a lil cessna with gear up
I live in Oklahoma City! :o Nice aircraft!
Call it the Cardinal and evolve it into a full red paint scheme with black trims. Nice video.
I can't believe they would fly this itty bitty plane around the world! Terrifying!
Catalina Dawn Not terrifying, flying safely is easy if your aren't a negligent moron
It's called an "adventure". something most people never experience..
thats rough i just soloed in a 172
Indeed
Sigh...do a little research...google Matt Guthmiller and subscribe to his channel.
Happy 2 million subs Louis!
Should have been called “spirit of Louis”
A name? How about *Splash* ??? Have a sense of humor! And if you don't go "splash", then your journey will make quite a "splash" (the other sense of the term). So either way, the name will be appropriate. Note that I'm very seriously thinking of buying an airplane to fly around the world. Actually, not entirely sure whether I will fly all the way around, but at least I'll fly back and forth across the south pacific, which makes the question somewhat mute from a capability point of view. The main difference is, the airplane I plan to buy weights about 1/6 as much and only carries 2 people. But it gets vastly better fuel economy and flies as fast. And it will be brand new. Got my fingers crossed for you guys... and later for me! :-)
🛩Boomerang🛩
Nodir Zakirov sss
Well, ordered my airplane. So, who is gonna be my Louis and document the fun? FunForMax? MaxFun? YouOnlyLiveOnce? StopAndSmellTheRoses?
I say name her in Spanish..."La Aventura"...The Adventure...
RootinaJ7 I was thinking "Beautiful Adventure" but I like "The Adventure" too 👍
RootinaJ7 You say it too in english lol
Wow buying the plane probably makes it so real. I'm so excited for you guys
This dude's hair looks like it got stuck in a paper shredder
Welcome to Texas. I see you found some of our small hail. Good luck with your adventure. Clear skies brother.
I came across your later video where you had another bloke with you, for the transAtlantic crossing.
I enjoyed that one, so I'm glad I stumbled across this one now.. and I've subscribed this time.
The first video I watched was great, although, watching louis PICKING HIS NOSE ALL THE TIME was a bit off putting...
Especially when he examined the contents of his nose stuck on the end of his finger and then just wiped it away on anything nearby...
Well done Louis, the ladies LOVE that... haha.
And YOU were the camera guy too, wow...
Ok, I've got my sick bag ready for this trip.. away you go.. :-)
.
I think you should call the plane Gaia. Love the music when you take flight! Exciting guys!!
I'd get so claustrophobic in that plane
...and that plane isnt even that tight, some are quite a bit worse.
do you get claustrophobic in cars??..... if you don't then its just a fear of flying because the Cessna 210 is huge inside like a small suv.
Lol never fly in a piper cub then... Haha
This is exciting to see the plan in action. I can't wait to see more about this
Are you really planning to travel the world in that tiny plane? I truly hope it's safe!
They aren't going to be going over huge oceans, they will Island hop and go from land mass to landmass
JJMMMEAC Thanks for the details. I still don't know how viable it is but let's see! hopefully all works out x
justininvestor yes, they seem to want to travel all over even to Pakistan.
People fly small single engine airplanes over the Atlantic AND Pacific on a regular basis. (Most of them ferry flights)......however there is nothing all that dangerous about it so long as the plane is in good mechanical shape, the pilot(s) are competent, and no unnecessary risks are taken (ie. flying though really bad weather etc.). To the general population it only seems crazy/scary because its something that not many people do, however the rewards it brings (the adventure) is hard to describe unless you've done it yourself. Kuddos to those who live out their dreams and live life as an adventure! Most will just hop on an airliner, watch a few movies and never truly experience the true thrill of FLYING.
Lots of aviation novices on this video it seems. Google Matt Guthmiller and subscribe to his channel. There is a wide range of aviation knowledge on RUclips.
So wild man!!
Plane name? The Red Rooster?
I like Celeste or Celia - both meaning heavenly; Celeste also means sky blue
Aurora might also be a beautiful alternative standing for dawn/the Roman goddess of sunrise and also the polar lights
All of these names remind me of looking up to the sky yearning for something unknown ... but because that's where you'll be a lot of the time I think they are perfect! :)
7:31 Bad piloting, never take your hand off of the throttle, especially when landing!!!
Don't forget the video is edited. The shot on yoke was not actually done during landing (notice the indicated speed and alt) it only seem to be as next shot from the wing shows landing phase, where you indeed need to have your throttle always under control.
Minecraft360 it isn't about getting in trouble, it's about safety. But it is true that the video is edited so for the guy that said that it was but piloting, shut your bitch ass up, nobody wants your ignorant opinion
I know that plane. Also had to change the nose fork assembly in Iqaluit in the snow in February.. It was my first winter crossing in a single engine plane. I had the same issues on my trip that you had in the videos. Unfortunately, I didn’t watch the videos ahead of time so I didn’t know!
The plain should be called Dora "Dora The Explorer"
What a bird! What a bird! Even retractable landing gear. What a trip it will be!
I love your Chanel but how are you bankrolling this? Are you the Love child of Bill Gates?
congratulations!!! there are many that wish they were sitting in your seat! Happy travels
Plane Jane thats the name
Ahh, the Cessna 210 Turbo. Sweet airplane, owned one a few years ago. I'd suggest installing the 120 gallon tanks if you're going to take it around the world. Other than that, go for it. !!
Louis is living the life man, Did mommy and daddy buy you everything?
Tormentor Evolved Why don’t you watch J.P.’s channel. He has a Q & A from 2016 and he mentions their corporate sponsors dropped out so there trip was off but they were still hoped to do this trip one day.
So was the entire trip paid by sponsors? I just found this video and curious to know how it was able to happen, since it can’t be cheap.
What's the range on this plane, like a thousand miles ? You'll have to land like 40 times before you make it around the world, right ? That's awesome, love it and you have my blessings guys ;)
About 300
You seem to have zero idea about aviation.. You haven't said even one word about the aircraft or flying. Please don't set out before having at least have 400-500 hours of experience. It is no joke flying over open seas, internationally... Takes several months to a year just to plan for the trip. it is not like booking an airplane ticket. Every country has different rules and regs.
urbanturbine I cringed when he was talking about the app showing “sat-uh-lite pho-tos or somefing”... um, it’s. NEXRAD weather radar. If he’s going to be flying the plane he needs to learn up on what all the Little app thingys do.
Eddie Haskell it's foreflight
Jackson Wasden yeah I KNOW that... I was making fun of how clueless HE was.
Yeah, this is so amateurish it is scary and I would reckon doomed to fail. If possible interview Matt Guthmiller.
urbanturbine Watch JP channel. He is an experienced pilot.
These young guys are fantastic. No fear! Very inspirational.
I have a question. Where do you leave you aircraft after buying it?
Be careful using that weather app software. There will be an 8 ish minutes delay on it, meaning that if you think that you are a few nautical miles away from the storm, you might be wrongs and hopefully not in it
If you watch the TV show Dangerous Flights, it is about a group of ferry pilot who fly single engine planes across the world. I think maybe they would think twice if they saw what it takes to fly just the Atlantic.
was the documentary about this flight ever released?
It’s funny to live in OK and see them talk about not even pea sized hail as huge when I’ve personally seen softball sized hail
Just a heads up! An anti-Ice/TKS system can be a life saver, but if you notice that the airplane is leaning one direction, flying "sideways," or anything, just remember that you have almost 100 pounds of anti-ice fluid in one wing! I just spent 20+ hours in a V-tailed Bonanza this past week, and we thought the autopilot was acting up, but the whole airplane was flying weirdly because we had 10 gallons of TKS fluid in the right wing.
This Chanel is defiantly going places!!! Cool plane thought it would be a twin prop thou???
My daughter just got really excited watching this. Jones airport is literally around the corner from us and she says finally a RUclipsr was near us lol
Thanks for making a visit to Tulsa. Hope you enjoyed your time here!
If following this new vlogger, James Asquith in IG, and he is also killing it with aviation vlogs.
Oh cool the Aztec seen when pulling the plane out of the hangar was n5938y, a 1965 Aztec c that we were looking at! You were at Dan Howard aircraft sales, in Tulsa!
I live in Oklahoma in the last year alone we have had 2 hail storms with a lot of hail over 5cm across.
The spirit of Louis
I have over 1000 hrs in t210 I've flown right at 50 miles over water was antsy the whole way make sure you plan your route over minimal water, and fly at higher altitude the glide racial is pretty good. Make sure your portable elt water proof. Good luck and what an adventure. Ps have you planed your flight would like to know
Such a cool plane, I love 210s, and this one is absolutely gorgeous. Subscribed!
Sorry guys, that's not a bad hailstorm. In 1994 in Iowa we had baseball sized hail and in the summer it's normal to get pea sized hail and sometimes golf ball sized.
You should do a paint scheme for your bus that is union jack across the top the bus down the side one huge flag.
0:53 dudes FLYIN down that road at over 80mph
"ARCTIC TERN" bird makes longest ever migration - equal to flying twice around the planet .Tiny bird flies 59,650 miles from its breeding grounds in Farne Islands in the UK to Antarctica and back again, clocking the longest ever migration recorded
Would love to do something like this once I get my license. I love the 210. I usually fly 172’s sometimes a Steerman, or T6 but I absolutely love the 210. Maybe one day!!
My father used to have a 210 - they're great planes!!! I don't recommend cracking a piston at 300 AGL on takeoff, RIP N761FM.
It looks like you guys are driving 100 mph in the intro scene, but I know just about every rural road in Texas is posted 70mph so it must be that wide angle lens. Hope the bird passes the pre-buy inspection without too many hiccups, although it looks like a well-cared for Centurion so there shouldn't be too many surprises if any. I've read a lot of memoires from pilots like Reed Prior, Amelia Rose Earhart, and Matt Guthmiller but I haven't seen any world flight vlogs as of yet.
Good a/c IF all the overhauls AND maintenance is up to date . . .
The weather at the start is literally every day in Scotland
Yep. I just put up a comment saying this before I saw yours. It’s chucking it down rn.
Fun for Charlie
Mid '70s 210s are nice planes! great cruiser and fast!
Awesome! Cant wait to see you fly to Hawaii in it!
Call it Percy the Plane!🛩
That music is about as equally emotional as crying
KVRS Jones riverside is the airport I train/fly out of, so funny to see it on RUclips!
