Bob Davie is a defensive GENIUS. When I coached, I read everything he wrote. He basically killed the Run and Shoot offense while he was DC at Texas A&M. *He was not a head coach. *
"Powlus has pressure, he is sacked down at the 31-yard line. No timeouts, the clock will take the inexorable countdown to the end of this, the 69th meeting, and John Robinson is celebrating. Sultan Abdul-Malik. And here comes the SC band to join the celebration." Absolutely love the way the late, great Charlie Jones called the final sequence.
Bob Davie? Damn, how time flies. Seems like yesterday, I was hating on that idiot only to be followed by the bigger idiot Tyrone Willingham, who said, he never had a bad day. God, he sure brought a lot of bad days to ND and Washington.
Rob Johnson the person responsible for really putting Norte Dame in the shitter was Charlie Wise now you might say oh they woke up the echoes his first two years let’s put a pin in that and come back to that later okay first things first he lost to Navy you know broke the streak never beat USC in either years got their ass absolutely kicked by them each year at least with Willingham they beat the teams they were supposed to beat and lost to a really good SC teams in his years now let’s get back to why they lost to navy with his players he won with Brady Quinn willingham player Jeff samarjdia willingham receivers so remind me which one couldn’t recruit and which one could which one is the bigger idiot
Davie had an excuse for every loss: the schedule is too tough, admission standards are too strict and my favorite, we don't have the talent to compete for a national title.

This was USC's first win in South Bend since 1981. FIGHT ON, TROJANS!!!
Terrific comments at the end of the game by John Robinson. He was always one of my favorite coaches.
Was this the game that earned Powlus his third Heisman Beano?
Haha, ZING!!
2:33:08 Urban Meyer is a young assistant for Notre Dame
I thought that may have been him. Thanks for the confirmation!
Wow, no kidding!?!?
Thanks for the upload.. Love the vintage games.
The Bob Davie -ron paulus connection is The Best all time duo's QB / coach at Notre Dame all time
ND should have won this game. Way too many penalties at the end.
Coulda, shoulda, woulda....Fight On, Trojans!!
Funny how SC is hot garbage now! Fight On!!! LOL
tyrone137 there the definition of dumpster fire
Typical Davie team. Played hard, but undisciplined and poorly coached.
