I love the idea of the 4 wheel steer but it really needs adaptive dampers. The car is just to one dimensional to live with everyday especially on uk roads. Most of the time will be spent driving it normally anyway. Cars like the Golf R/Gti and Ford St can be put in their sportiest settings and still be fantastic road cars that don’t rattle your fillings out. The Renault looks great for a track day though
I have to say that after owning both mk7 gti and gtd with dcc adaptive dampers I was not impressed. Never noticed a huge difference in stiffnes of the chassie, so i always drove it in sport. And after 3 months of using trophy, I can’t really complain, its rly not that stiff.. ^-^
You don't buy a hard core hatchback for the ride quality that's where you wrong. It's like a toy you use it to have fun not to mown and grown about all of its shortcomings. There is a reason Renault has the lap record at the "Green Hell". All the 31k subscribers you have should go test-drive that awesome car it's French perfection. Don't buy a man's car if you are going to be a baby.
Only ever read one truly positive review about this generation Mégane RS, it was from someone who had spend days using the car on the road but mainly on track, the verdict was something along the line of you have to spend time with this car to truly appreciate it, not just hours. Too techy, maybe.....
Not to break the numeric flow here, but I am... I just really dislike modes in a suspension. To me it is the manufacturers giving up on getting the settings right, add so much complexity and still not nailing down the right compliance, sport balance. Maybe I’m old school, but I’d rather not be bothered paying for what I think is a gimmick.
megane rs never been comfortable tho (especially trophy) but if this one wont be able to break the record in the nurburgring then no more excuses to justify that pain in the assery :)
Not a chance. The used Renault's are nothing but crap boxes. Quality is not there, and electrics? You'll be lucky if they're working after a heavy rain shower. I'd be surprised if they've sorted out their flaws for the new cars.
You’re right. I know nothing about cars, I can’t drive and this is the best hot hatch out there, because you say so. How does it feel to be the most right person on the internet? x
What a f***ing good review. Thank guys ! I believe this fast Renault sport joke is the perfect demonstration of what Renault is doing in Formula 1... For sure, we can hope for a very good red bull f1 team hot hatch, since Red Bull is powered by Honda
That Jingle sounds like it was written by Satan, after he's spent too much time playing Grand Theft Auto. Daft car, great review, full of good chassis fluffing.
The only car reviewer who will, as a matter of course, describe a car as "a pain in the arse" and wear a zebra crossing. The bloke's ace. 👍
The Megane RS looks so much better than the Civic.
Brilliant real world review. The best I've seen, and having test driven a Trophy, I agree
Thanks mate. M.
Honesty, enthusiasm and a really well thought out review - all by Geordie Jesus: the best (and most underrated) car reviewer out there.

Renault Mégane RS Trophy- R 2019. Nurburgring Nordschleife lap record. 7'40''10 🏆🇫🇷

‘Not the quickest hot hatch out there’ proceeds to compare 0-60 times with either RWD or 4WD hot hatches..... well that was useful.....
😳😂
another great review :)
Really enjoyed and appreciated your description of how disconnected the feel of this car is.
John where did you get your shirt from...1986?
No Barry. You could not be more wrong. It was 1987 so the joke's on you. Love, Mark. (You got that bit wrong too.)
Why isn't top gear geordie jesus and matt from carwow... I'd love to see a team up video
PJ w nah Matt from Car wow is a ✊ Geordie Jesus would not get on with him

Good review - I’m guessing that you agree with What Car? That the Seat Arona is better than this?
You my friend are hilarious!!!!!! Keep up the good work👌
Did yer Mam knit that jumper for you??
A car that can lap the ring in 7:40 has a firm ride...🤔 well i didn't expect that
Sweet, you’ve mentioned the Nurburgri.....zzzzzz 😴

My ex-girlfriend used to be a chasis-fluffer!

What has he done to his hair, oh Mark! 😳
29!!!! YESS!!!
Mark you're the best reviewer you're Honest 😀
French heap of shite destined to give years of financial pain to its owner. Hot hatch segment is too competitive atm to tolerate this crap.
Very expensive and overly complicated. Do you think your local Renault garage will cope with rear steering issues?

Chassis fluffers! Stiff joke. Love it!
Renault the best❤️
crap review!!!
Great comment!!!
@@HonestJohncouk2000 it's true!!
I just bought the previous model with the 2 liter is better
It has less turbo lag and the engine stronger and you can tune it more
Off course it's better 😂😂😂😂
Rather have an I30 N and save some cash, nice car though.
21st!
Errr fourteenth - yay. Nope still don't get it. Maybe I'll try my hand at chassis, chasis, shassy fluffing.
It's a mkIV not mkIII....
Based on the 4th Megane but it’s the 3rd gen Renault Sport Megane mate. 🙂 👍🏻
I'd want a proper hot hatch. An all things to all men car and clearly this isn't it.
Quirky I like
4.5 Audi s3 btw
Golf R 0 - 62 mph in 5.3? MK7.5 does it in 4.5-4.6
Loool Darren Lyons
