Great review! So many people just don’t get what this car is about. I have one and although it took me a while to get used to it, I now love it! It’s a total machine!
I've recently purchased a 2021 face-lift model which only comes as an auto, has the recaro seats standard and has a much more modern looking infotainment system. Annoyingly it also comes with a second cat to conform to some new eu emissions crap which unfortunately means it's killed alot of the exhaust crackles but it still sounds pretty good. Honestly, I can't say I've even noticed the rear steering and as for the stiff ride... yes it's stiff and there is very little body roll but it's not crashy. I was expecting much worse and even the wife doesn't hate the ride. I'm not sure I love the car yet but also not had too many clear roads so far to really put it to the test. It does feel eager to please with no real turbo lag which is a major plus. If I had criticism, maybe it lacks a bit of top end. Oh and the Bose sound system is sweet!
Don’t know why you have only 128 likes out of 5.5k views. Nice video mate. Your delivery and use of the English language is better than many natives (me included:-)). Keep up the good work
Oh yeah there is a need. Akrapovic always makes better sounding exhaust than the stock ones. I don't think the price would be higher. It's not like they didn't invest in the development of their stock exhaust
@@sarmadghori2704 the standard one does not have a Akrapovic exhaust. You can buy the Trophy-r Exhaust but it costa 3500€ but oyu also need the carbon defusor that costs 3200€ bechause it does not fit to the standard one. For the normal megane rs 280 there ist an Akra Available since 1 Month witch costs around 3000€ and i can tell you that it is not worth it the sound isnt that mutch better
you probably dont care but if you're stoned like me atm you can watch pretty much all the new movies on instaflixxer. Been streaming with my girlfriend recently :)
As far as ride being to harsh for normal roads, it's a hot hatch and a trophy one at that........you want comfy buy a cushion. It would have been nice maybe if they'd at least offered adaptive suspension at extra cost to take away that harsh ride for normal day to day driving
@@fragu123 Correct. Not in this car. At least not where I live. If you take the Recaro seats (like I did), then heating is not available. And the car he drove had other seats that did have heating.
I really don't understand how people complain about the ride quality in a Trophy version. Just get the normal one which is much better value. €30k is insane, a base GTI is the same price and has way less hp and features.
Great video someone that appreciate its.. I think you hit the nail on the head.. it's a trophy, it is a driver focussed harcore hothatch.. and yes civic type R does it just that big better.. ✌️🤜
Congrats for the video. The car has a very nice exterior design, but inside there isn't anything to like it's ok and that's it. My biggest dissapoitment is that they didn't continued with the 2.0L, why downsize? Yeah, it's because the Alpine has the same engine but.. I see that you are really into hot hatches, what about i30N? Any chance to make a video with it? Keep it up. Peace.
Well it's not that big of a difference and the engine feels fantastic! I highly doubt the i30N video will ever happen. I've been trying to talk with Hyundai for over a year and nothing
@@fragu123 the car is verry impressive. on twisty roads it realy comes alive. i personaly think the ride quality isnt to harsch i dont notice it realy on our roads. The EDC is awesome love the sound when upshifting. The recaro Sears are extremely good. The car is jist perfect i realy love it

This is a brilliant car I have one manificent my advice to any don't listen to these guys drive the car for yourself the transmission is brilliant an so is the car
I wouldn't say the transmission is brilliant, but the car is. I do agree with you that people should go experience the car for themselves and not listen to random folks on the internet
@@TunedIntoCars Hmm...what is the difference between the Trophy-exhaust and the non-Trophy-exhaust? I'm pretty sure Trophy is much louder and has more crackles.
if this looks old on the inside, then i30n performance would look like it is from early 2000. my god that car has a shitty interior. especially the display they put in the i30n. i honestly think the megane's interior looks really good and especially when they integrated the display in the dash
I bought a GTI TCR and as a balanced car I think it’s far better.... Renault sport and the type R crew go much too hardcore for the car to be used day to day.... they both probably drive far better but the type R looks embarrassing and this is fundamentally a Renault so quality still isn’t up there. They’re great products but they’re not for a 36 year old father of two.... getting old probably! 😂
I actually have a video comparing the TCR with the Type R and they're not that different, comfort wise. The Megane ia definitely more hardcore, not very good for your back in the long term 😁
Tuned Into Cars! I’ve watched it a few times. Great Vid. But for every day and with a wife using it regularly to transport the kiddies the DSG is actually pretty essential. Also when you compare the infotainment and all the features (also especially the looks) I’d take the slightly worse handling for everything else the golf has. But I get that some wouldn’t.
For a blast down a B road the type R is probably a better bet but for every day..... there’s a reason that GTI badge has hung around for so damn long. Great vids!
Yeah, but those 'races' are pointless anyway. It's literally 0 - 200km/h accelerations in a straight line. Nothing very exciting happens I'm that scenario anyway
@@TunedIntoCars The Mégane Trophy drove the Nürnburger Ring in 7:40 , whereas the Porsche 911 did with 3:59..... I think it is fast enough for my taste

the engine sounds very good for a 4 banger , there's no need for an akrapovic exhaust system if it drivers the price higher .

Why didn't Renault offer the car with adaptive suspension, surely that would have been a good option to offer customers.

Im going to buy one

Trophy-R lacks the rear wheel drive, makes one wonder why they dropped the tech on the best variant.
