I love how Davids vocabulary can't keep up with his creative thoughts. When he's conveying an idea or concept and doesn't have the word or phrase to describe it, he says the first thing that comes to his mind. I wonder what it would be like to live inside his head for a day. Probably make me go insane. "Is that a Polish light bulb?"
"Ideas are the best thing going." -One of my favorite Lynch interview quotes. Not sure where I saw it. It's one of those statements that's so banal it kind of circles around to profundity by the back door. Like a lot of his dialogue, actually - Lynch's characters talk like him (which is true of most writers to some extent, I guess).
Outstanding film and conversation. The more I listen to David Lynch the more I appreciate his genius and the more I learn. His analogies are fascinating.
Having worked with film crews, it always amazed me that actors were even capable of focusing their attention while having to shut-out of mind the 30 or so crew members also in the room. It's only logical that they should do better work without having to fight the distractions.
2:30 the thing with the camera reminded me as a musician thinking of creativity/improvisation : "what if an error wasn't an error?" Only new direction in a labyrinth of unknown meaning, perhaps?
I really admire DAVID LYNCH the great director. But I still don’t get it why he still went for big crew shooting for Twin Peaks 3 during 2016 after he kept saying “He won’t go back to make film needed big crew with big camera and lights instead he did for INLAND EMPIRE by using SONY PD 150”?
Focus & concentration. I don't even practice this style. I just remove myself from an equation, and slow down my actions, and concentrate on the moments. You cannot do that, running in circles, plug in, with limited batteries. Stop stacking your problems, you will fail at Tetris or chess. True mind games. Tell people what you want. Stop hurting, stop yelling. You got it. Take away everything, you'll be you.
"It gets kinda weird."
-David Lynch
I love how modest he is and how important to him is the process of art creation. Lovely, lovely weirdo. So open and twisted minded...

Lynch '...'
Lynch's Hand ' 🖐🖖🖐✋🤙🤞🖖🖐'
That’s how you know he cookin’. That’s the signal lol
David Lynch is my personal superhero.
Even his hand movements are masterful.
I just watch him for his hand movements.
David Lynch's hand does WAY MORE talking than he does!!
When his fingers start fluttering, a magical wind is blowing thru the Lynchian mind.
My dude would play a mean trumpet

"If you're not up for destroying you won't get there" -David Lynch
He is such an amazing soul
I always go back to his interviews. I love the lighting in this video. The natural contrasted with the moody yellow.
So interesting, beautiful and intimate. Thanks for sharing.
loved it. thanks!
Wow that was really very nice, and indeed, like Idomeneo says what a suiting setting. Thanxx for sharing.

This interview itself looks like a scene from a David Lynch movie lol

This. Is. Interesting. Very interesting.
That's so weird. I just watched an hour long video on Blue Velvet, then you upload this. The two practically back to back.
Jazz Hands!!! 👐

A true artist just thinks they something magical when he talks art/films
(he went back)
Anybody know Zoidberg from Futurama.. his fingers are waving like his Octopus nose.
or the other way around
Does anyone know what the film he was talking about at the beginning is called? (the one he made with the broken camera)
Six men getting sick or The Alphabet
"bang-go they pop it"
Doing an interview with a lightbulb on a string danggling in your face must be ridiculously difficult.
If you could just tight-frame that hand for the duration of the film with no audio, you'd a have a good Lynchian film.
14:44 lol
its… a bit… like hes playing a trumpet of jazzy thought with his thinking hand
🌫 Lightbulb is necessary

That hand moves like a jellyfish.
photorama danger...
It's a shame, that he doesn't wave his fingers at all in this video.. 😁
ikr :(
But he does
Tomy I was being sarcastic 😁
Very interesting interview, but mmmh mmm mmmh mm
MMMMH MMMMMH MMMMMMMH MMMMMMMMH
Every david lynch interview is the same
The interviewer needs to not go “mhm”
love david lynch but he knows not much about fishing, they don't swim in because you desire it.
but if you desire more fish you will pick better spots and improve at the craft so technically he's right
