Risotto is 100% a side villain bro was barely mentioned Cioccolata & Secco had more screen time then him and they were the best of the side villain in part 5. Just a very heavy side plot Diavolo was really the only main villain in part 5 since he was pretty much was always pulling the strings even with the mercenary group.

Stories have his type of character sometimes. An antagonist is meant to oppose the main character in some facet, some stories have multiple people who oppose different aspects of the protagonist. This is the case with Diego and Valentine

Dio having children was just to make sure some part of him would still be in the world. Giorno took more of his Joestar side and the other became more like Dio (kinda Riekial was kind of a little bitch lol). But for part 5s plot yeah doesnt really have much to do with it. 5 was just a side story Araki really wanted to make because out of all part it really hasnt nothing to do with the main story other than Dio has children.
Let’s be real dio is overall better written He has a sad past but not too milked Has a reason of his mindset (living in London where hate is everywhere and survival is hard) Has a solid goal with a solid reason (dios mother told dio “dio, no matter what happens, live a nobly and with pride. If you do that, you will surely go to heaven” so his goal became heaven he also kept his nobility and pride even tho he was very evil)
Dio's "heaven" was making sure every single being knows their own fate and from what we see in part 6 its a terrifying concept for me at least it spoils my entire life the good and the bad and not even having the ability to make that choice is a very evil thing. He took his mother's and erina's words and twisted them (clearly based off parts 3,4,5 there is an afterlife and an actual heaven for good people). Does he have a sad past yes it didnt justify all the horrible thing he did to Jonathan in their youth, like he said he realize once meeting him seeing a boy that never had to struggle angered him and his was willing to lose everything just to torment him. While 100% his horrible upbringing turned him into a monster, remember fate in jojos works differently. Dio may of hated his abusive father but he also hated his mother for being caring and giving to others because he thought it was stupid and pointless he was always fated to be an evil person because he was fated to put on that stone mask to become a vampire and beginning the long grueling events that take place in the rest of the story.
I rate my favorite characters based on their powers, because character development isnt JoJo’s strongest suit. So therefore my favorite characters are Bruno Buccerati, Joshu Higashikata, and Okuyasu Nijimura Yea I did remember their names from the top of my head lol
@ Jotaro's got such a boring power man. It's just punchy + precision + time stop eventually. Koichi got some SICK ass powers for sure, but I dislike it simply because of the act system. Imo I dislike all stands that evolve like that. Echoes more than tusk, because Echoes doesn't even retain it's previous abilities upon "leveling up"! Joseph's cool, I'll give you that. Love how simple his hermit purple is, yet how utilized it is. I will say, joseph in part 2 had a boring powerset, but he's probably my favorite character personality wise! Dio is so massively overrated imo. It's just a slightly better version of jotaro. It was sick many years ago when I first got into jojo, but SOOOO many other cooler abilities have entered the series since then. Johnny is the same as Koichi. Really cool ideas, but unfortunately it's split up in acts.

Doesnt change that fact that its 10x cooler. Sorry after seeing the 10th time manipulating stand, an ability that is a viral sickness that turns you into a dinosaur is the coolest thing ever. The sounds creatures we got when combine with Sandman's stand. Turning any organic matter no matter how small into dinosaur. And to randomly turn your horse into a freaking utaraptor to avoid guns shots. While Dio's time stop is a terrifying ability, we get to see how much of a counter Tusk is to it and its why its fun they switch his stand. Scary Monsters tho will always be the highlight of SBR and literally the first stand that starts all of the peak we see. I would of hated if he had the world the entire time for the sheer fact its why I hate part 4. Dont get me wrong I like Kira but Jotaro completely out shined Josuke and him using time stop every single moment he can felt too broken like there were zero stakes. Why they practically nerf him by being completely clueless in the finale chapters so we can have a Kira v Josuke. Meanwhile part 6 fixes that by almost killing him in the beginning and we get to see Jolyne shine throughout the entire part. TLDR: let the broken stuff be at the end of the part so we can let the new stuff shine like imagine if Wonder of U showed up in the beginning or if Weather Report knew the capability of his stand.
