Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I'm feeling a little more confident at giving it a go myself. Cheers!

I have a rental property with disintegrating mortar between the 4 large stone walls. I was dreading taking a week of vacation to repair the wall but it was too expensive to hire it out. I found it to be surprisingly cathartic. Now I'm going to tuck point bricks on my mom's house and I can't wait!! Thanks so much for the tips!!

Really good series of vids, Rodian. Your presenting style is excellent for novices to the trade to follow, easy to understand and explaining WHY things are done, not just a case of "do it like this and don't ask questions"!

Love these videos. You explain everything and don’t make any assumptions of people’s knowledge. Good job!

It's like an online apprenticeship, they're that good. If there were channels like this for all the trades out there, I would spend 10 hours a day on RUclips.

I am really enjoying all of your videos. Thank you for sharing your expertise. I had no idea the mortar took so long to cure. That it is still workable days later blew me away. How long does it take until it gathers it's full strength on average?

With a lime mortar, how many courses can you lay before it starts pressing the muck out of the first course?

Nice one Rodian. I was shown the opposite way round when I was a lad 🙄😆. Beds - perps - beds - brush , shouldn’t need to top n tail after that.👌🏼
Each to their own as the saying goes .

That's interesting, Steve. I'm the same as Rodian, I was always taught to do perps 1st then beds. I've never even thought of trying it the other way round since! I will give if a go though, to see if it ends up being a better way! 👍

Shinobi . Good point there pal ( no pun untended ) .
When I started back in 1987 we “ stick jointed “
We used a 12mm thick piece of hardwood with the edge rounded off . It was abound 1 foot long and about 4”” deep cut in the shape of a parallelogram. Top and bottom for beds . Ends for perps . They didn’t last long but put a lovely finish on the brickwork 👈🏻🧱👍🏽
