Contested each May, the PGA Championship is the second major championship in golf’s annual rotation, and perennially features the strongest field in the men's game based on the Official World Golf Rankings. Known for dramatic finishes and notable champions, the Wanamaker Trophy-which has been awarded to the winner since 1916-is inscribed with names such as McIlroy, Woods, Nicklaus, and Player. The 2024 PGA Championship is set to take place between May 16-19 at Valhalla Golf Club. The reigning champion is Brooks Koepka.

One of the best Aces in history. That will be on highlight reels for decades!
It’s a literal Tin Cup moment. That shot will live on for a long, long time.
I love this story, crazy how much louder the roars were for him than pretty much anyone else. He had the best attitude and personality for the moment. Such a likeable, humble guy who went out and achieved something most of us could only dream of.
One of the coolest stories in golf! Congratulations to Michael. This will forever change his life!
It's scripted entertainment dude....The Sheeple will never figure that out
@TRyan-vv6ie go smoke out of the pipe again
@@Manstobal You might want to turn your TV off, put the remote down, and back away slowly.
And then you might have a fighting chance to understand your reality..... but if you want to stay dumbed down and heavily Indoctrinated.....keep watching total bullshit. It's safer there.
@@SnowboardJedi lklb egg
His ace is the absolute coolest moment ive ever seen in golf. FAIRYTALE
I've watched golf on TV for years and I can't ever recall seeing anything quite as exciting and rewarding as Michael Block's phenomenal final nine.
Did you see tiger and mediate? I was too young to see but did it compare?
@@Shabla7 Sure did. One of the best head to head duels you're ever likely to see. What separates that match from the one this past weekend was the obscurity factor. Rocco was a well known golfer who caught a hot streak, but Block was an absolute nobody who's now the talk of the entire golfing world.. What with LIV and all the other distractions, watching someone just play friggin' golf and that well, was, at once, an unexpected and a welcome pleasure. .
@@TheSoundOutside Well said! Thanks!
Back in the day, Mike Reid had an appropriate nickname. Today, I do believe we can pass the nickname on to Michael Block. From the driver to the long irons, and certainly the wedges; Michael Block has become “Radar.”
One of the best moments ever I have experienced in person at a sporting event on 18. Incredible up and in. The roar we heard from 15 was loudest thing I have heard at a tournament before. Even louder than a 🐅 roar
His Up and down on the 72nd hole will become stuff of legend with the number of people who claim to have been around the 18th green doubling ever few years.
I love that this video has 4x the amount of views as Koepka's highlight video. 😂
It is nuts. I don't have anything personally against Koepka, but the guy's almost pathologically even-keeled demeanor doesn't make for much intrigue. His personality is about as boring as his dominant version of play: ho-hum, bashed down the middle, irons stuffed to a few feet, make enough putts to shoot better than anyone else, and never crack a smile or scowl along the way. I'd kill to play golf in such a boring way, but it doesn't make for great entertainment when both his game and personality are so robotic. Weird paradox of golf, that.
Part of the intrigue of Tiger were his heroic and creative recovery shots during his wins. Koepka doesn't really have, or need, such shots in his wins. With Koepka, there's no short-game wizardry, no Herculean hooks around trees, no towering fades out of jungle rough, no 40 foot double-breaking putts, no dodgy downhill 15 foot sliders to stay in contention or make a playoff. His game is everything every golfer aspires to, but oddly makes for some of the least dramatic major coverage.
@@haroldfarquad6886 Damn Harold. Well said.
@@haroldfarquad6886 well said. It works. It wins majors. Its boring.
@@haroldfarquad6886 honestly that was so spot on, nobody could say it better!
God what an AWESOME story!!!!!!! NEVER EVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS.
THE best ACE in the history of golf. The story of the man's journey, if you know it, makes it that much more special. Mr. Block lived out what every golfer dreams of. 4 incredible rounds of golf with the final round playing with one of the world's best golfers and scoring a hole in one. Absolutely epic.....
WOW! Amazing! Greatest story in golf in a long time. Congratulations Michael Block!
Michael Block highlights have like 5x the views as Brooks Koepka.. lol
Way to go Mike! Awesome week of golf
I love that smile by Rory on 18 when he hit that chip..you could tell he was rooting for him
Absolutely
You know, Rory knows the roar. A hole in one is a different level ….He told Michael it went in. Only a Champion of that degree would understand the difference between loud applause and a roar of that magnitude. Cool moment.
THANK YOU for editing out the “this was a few moments ago” comment before the ace. It’s infinitely better without it.
So happy for Block made me tear up a little bit
Honestly the swing is butter. Smooth and creamy
Dang, I’ve never had a golf shot make me tear up, but that shot on 15 did it. Seeing him be the last to believe it went in and overcome by the emotion totally got me.
To happen to that guy on that day. This shot will be shown for decades to come.
He stole the show in my hometown. A star in the making.
I could watch this all day
This is why I love the game of golf. Such a great player and I’m excited to watch him next year!
He got invited to Colonial in Texas next week!
I could watch that baby fade with the driver all day. Smooth
This guy has fun playing golf. It was very nice to see.
Thank you Michael Block.
The “ooooooohhhh” when he hits that hole in one is absolutely absurd
I love you Blockie
He's got a little Tom Lehman dip in his swing. Smooth
First 2 or 3 times I thought it was the yips lol. Nope!
The Netflix episode is gonna be NUTS.
I don’t recall ever witnessing something like this. Such a talented, humble and likable guy. Congratulations Michael Block, and thank you!
This was just awesome to watch. I just love underdog stories like this in the game of golf. It’s what makes this sport great!
Thanks for the inspiration blockie…. I haven’t had that much fun watching golf ever
Some of his recovery shots around the green were unbelievable. His touch and confidence with that lob wedge is unreal. What a great fucking story. #ManOfThePeople
Block doesn't hit the ball all too far but Colonial CC is a place where a premium is placed more on mid and short irons more so than raw distance off the tee. Next week tournament being an invitational is gonna have a strong field event though its not a designated event. Hope to see him make himself another good payday and get the most out of this run as he can.
Is that why he said he likes the fast fairways? He does seem to have really good swing speed but its hard to tell on television.
@@mattc9412 Pretty much. Just watched his interview with foreplay golf and he said only carries the ball 275-280 and was talking about just how hard a 7400 yard course is for someone with his style.
@@betterthanmost9549 Boy have times changed. When I was growing up, I remember an interview with Jack Nicklaus and he said his patented fade drive went about 275. He went on to say he could hit it 285 if he really tried, but he couldn't sure of where it was going. Back then my "rich" friends would use persimmon drivers and balata covered balls. Now both are considered outdated. I wonder how far the current generation would have hit it with the clubs and balls we played with.
@@spectrum7virkeytroni Couple of golf magazines have done Titantium and pro v 1 vs persimmon and balata tests. Modern equipment nets about an extra 35 yards so pretty much brings what 275 used to be to 300 today.
Guy is three years away from qualifying for the Senior Tour. This run could just be the beginning. I say this based on his consistent play in qualifiers over the years. This moment is no surprise to anyone who looks at his resume.
💡🙏🏌️♂️ Wow what an incredible accomplishment.... He must have felt like he was dreaming .... And then to get a HOLE in ONE in a Major Tournament.... Absolutely Majestic 🙏😊
Such a great story I hope he keeps going with it… He really picks the ball clean on his irons I notice doesn’t take a divot a lot, but he really seems to get around the course well. Looks like he’s very consistent off the TV.
That roar at 25:14...unreal
He plays like everyone should; to enjoy the game
He played so well, holy 😮
We are all rooting for you Michael!
BEST HOLE IN ONE EVER
this is great! he got an invitation to the charles schwab tournament next week and he gets an automatic spot in the pga championship next year!
I am a huge Fan. A bigger story than the winner. Thanks Michael. Good luck to you and your son in the US Open qualifying.
Absolutely amazing!!
Such a relaxed swing. Awesome to see.
Thank you so much.
Michael Da Block! Engraved in golf history! Mike, like tens if not hundreds of thousands of others before me…FELICIDADES!! 🎉
Golf version of Linsanity. Let’s go Michael!!
a sensational hole in-one, congratulations Michael Block... played a lot this PGA 🤩😁..
Best tournament....ever!
This guy is a legend.
The majors have a way of bringing Cinderella stories. Shades of Rocco 08
Only thing that comes close to this is the John Daly's PGA Championship win in 1991 as the NINTH alternate. Who doesn't love an Cinderella story.
I know it's easy to leave his "shank" on No. 5 in the second round. But it's a big part of the story, it's why I started following him. It happens to all golfers, his ability to put in behind him and contend all weekend is something to be admired - mental game. We can all relate so it needs to be a part of the story.
Awesome 🎉🎉
Michael Block = the dad I never had
Bro professional golf is always scripted dude....The Sheeple need to snap out of it
@@SnowboardJedi God I hope this is a joke
@@XxFWLxX311 You got alot to learn bro.....good luck with that
@@XxFWLxX311 I bet you still think the NFL isn't scripted too huh? LoL.....good luck figuring out the matrix bro....no Billion dollar Enterprise gets left to pure chance....it's all about creating story lines and the results that benefit Vegas.
@@SnowboardJedi Just out of curiosity, how exactly do they script a PGA tournament like this one?
This was awesome!
His follow through is so different, how he drops down after impact it seems
THIS WAS AWESOME TO WATCH
How cool. Great moment
The closest (in my opinion) to the people alive and watching of “greatest game ever played”
So freaking cool!
His swing reminds me of Stewart Cink. That little dip at the bottom of the swing.
A true Cinderella Man
this dude can teach us all a thing or two on pace of play. steps up, takes a look and drains it in seconds. the camera can barely keep up!!!
@19:28 he gave his fans everything. even a driver off the deck
Michael seems to be a truly great man. I am sorry that I will not get to know him better.
Imo this could be a sequel to tin cup
Unreal... even though the PGA is over, this story just gets better and better
The fact that he contended as well as he did with sub-160mph ball speed is impressive. Not a long hitter by any means but he's got game.
I honestly didn’t even think dunking it like that was possible
My first hole in one was a 135yd 52 degree gap wedge. Landed directly in the hole, didn't tear the cup up at all. Still don't know how it stayed in.
That putting style of his has some merit. I tried it and had great results myself.
the world needed this fairy tail story. hollywood will make a movie of this.
3:30, the person who went nuts at this putt can truly lay claim to saying "I was a fan before everyone else!"
Feels bad for Brooks who actually won the tournament to be overshadowed by Michael, what a story!
Brooks won the PGA, but this one will always be known as The Block Party
Block had a great performance! If he could clean up a few putts he could be incredibly dangerous. Not to dismiss some of his great putts he had.
Do you don't get stuff like this on the LIV tour on the CW
Block hangs out and plays with Patrick Cantlay. Cantlay could use some shot routine and pace of play lessons from this guy!
Exactly...this guy just steps to the ball and hits it...apparently he and Cantlay are buds, but I don't see how
First time ive ever seen a caddie with a range finder during the final round of a major. Blocks caddie used it after he hit hole in one. Anyone else notice??
God, can you imagine
wow
It looks like he only wore cleated shoes in the 3rd round? Am I wrong? Or do his flat skateboard like shoes in rounds 1,2,4 have some sort of gripping sole that I'm not aware of?
Gonna tell my kids this was tiger woods
This will be known as Paul Allen's ace
"The fairytale story... gets better!"
Everybody comment a response to *it was at this moment he realized* (blank)
hitting direct in cup no roll or bounce is even harder, cause u would think ball would bounce out...
Block to the Cleeks GC confirmed.
Anybody who downvotes this should have their clubs taken away.
Golfs Rocky Balboa.
Wanna see the movie sooooooonnn
swing look like Cink very similar
Congratulations Block. Great Ace too!
Remember Tincup Kevin Costner
The new John Daly.
I heard Disney is already in post production for the movie
Who won? This is great, but 5 videos about the same guy...
I wonder how much money LIV is going to offered him.
Plot twist. He spent the whole 300K buying rounds for everyone 😅.
You look like my son Zack Stewart. A great end to a perfect day…….May 2023.
