Contested each May, the PGA Championship is the second major championship in golf’s annual rotation, and perennially features the strongest field in the men's game based on the Official World Golf Rankings. Known for dramatic finishes and notable champions, the Wanamaker Trophy-which has been awarded to the winner since 1916-is inscribed with names such as McIlroy, Woods, Nicklaus, and Player. The 2024 PGA Championship is set to take place between May 16-19 at Valhalla Golf Club. The reigning champion is Brooks Koepka.

Started the week with 10 people around the green lightly clapping. Ended the week with the whole world cheering.
That’s the nature from Thursday to Sunday
I live two cities over… what are the chances I get a 30 minute session in now! 0 chance!!!! Congrats Block Party never stop believing, anything is possible!!!!
@@lewisaholahey handsome
Yes a man and a dog. Then a few people. Of course commentator. Great story
@Caleb_Can_Collect_Pokemon on everything. watch the round
Michael Block’s ace has got to be the PGA Tour’s shot of the year. I look forward to seeing him interviewed at Valhalla next year.
What a shot in the arm for the PGA instead of us just watching multi millionaires play and cry about course configuration, we have this relatable guy come through like a breathe of fresh air. Watching Block play it felt like it really meant something to him and not just playing and then jumping on his private jet and flying back home until he feel's like playing again. #BlockParty
Facts.
Couldn't agree more!
Yep this dude was giving lessons for a couple hundred bucks at his local club...just awesome...
It was awesome to see how excited and supportive Rory was as well. Easily my favorite pairing from Sunday.
If you can share Block's emotions, that was a roller-coaster. Rory proved himself a truly great playing partner, open and generous as always.
In one weekend Mike Block has become the face of Golf and is somehow remaining humble through it all. Instant legend. Netflix, get on the documentary.
They have. They followed him in the final round.
@@jeremyhampton5311 oh shit they really did????
it will be a 30 for 30 short, no doubt!
The way he saved par on 17&18 on day 4 was phenomenal.
Overlooked by the ace, which I DO believe is one of the greatest shots in golf given the context. But to what you’re saying, ESPECIALLY on 18, that was a world class par.
In a feature group on Sunday, fire an ACE, and Rory is the first person to shake his hand!! Legendary 👏👏
That huge of a roar for a man who finished 15th. That's pretty special.
Block was so dialed love rewatching this
Look at this guy - slowly realising he’s one of the best in the world. And we get to watch him do it. Magical.
6:16 Rory yells "ya, really good!" I mean can you imagine! Good for him.
I'd die happy if I heard that
I would pay to watch a field of 76 Michael Block's play each week.
Would it still be special then? It's the fact that he did it as a simple club pro against the best in one of the 4 majors. I loved when Jon Rahm said, well, how much is he beating me by?
Michael Block with his humility and quiet, calm demeanor, should be a front runner for Sports Person of the Year. What an improbable but exceptional story. I hope we get to see him again from time to time regardless of how he finishes at Valhalla next year.
That hole-in-one will remain a Top 10 forever...
I wish my dad & father-in-law were still with me to watch this past weekend with Michael Block making it the best week of golf in many years. This is why the PGA is so great. Everyday guy golfer and we get to live some of his dream life together. PJ
Fact hope you’re doing great 😊
Such a beast!!! That boy said fuck a golf ranking
The ace on 15, the odds must be astronomical for it to go straight in?!
These are 4 rounds I'll never forget!! Dudes such a good guy & amazing player...I just wanna see him play! Well done Michael Block👏👏👏
💪😎👍
This will win a ESPY Award for something!
It's amazing that once he has his grip set, he takes about 1-2 seconds to start the putt.
I’ve never seen anything like it
I noticed that too. Hope he be himself all the time.
@@nickippolito10 wouldn’t Brandt Sneds do that?
Exactly..same stance, rhythm and motion. Smooooooth
Amazing performance. Unforgettable, this guy is one heck of a putter. Not really easy greens to putt also. So fun to watch. Cannot wait to see him play at the Canadian Open
That up and down on 18 was incredibly impressive!
You can tell how emotional he was walking to that dunk. This guy will go down as the absolute goat for his last few weeks. What a bloke and fully deserved.
There is serendipity in this. I don't remember what tournament it was, but a couple of years ago or so, Rory's second shot on the first hole slam dunked and broke the hole. They had to hold up play and fix the hole for play to continue. For him to be witness to this shot is incredible! To be a part of two slam dunk miracle shots? Almost unimaginable!! I wish all pros would take a lesson from Michael's humble disbelief of his own dream. He is truly an inspiration.
I was sitting then jumping out of my seat. Great for the sport.
Hey handsome how are you doing
Very humble man. Good husband, good father and very relatable to the average person.
Unlike the multi million dollar golfers who think more highly of themselves than they should.
What a call..."The fairy tale story." 6:29
I beelooong!
forever a legend in golf
Kudos to Rory. The playing-partner makes a difference.
Yep! He’s one of the best!
Man once he sees the line...he goes. That left hand low grip. Huge putts he maid.
Such a humble guy, easy to root for. Sports can be so special at times.
He'll have the biggest gallery next year by far.
This is so surreal, like a movie
I loved an interview where he stated he only watched a few times when the pros he was playing with hit - he did not want to remind himself where he was! As the pressure grew day by day Michael took it in stride...wow, what a performance for the ages!
Tells you what this means when an achievement like Koepka’s (5 majors in 7 seasons with 3 out of the last 6 PGAs) is completely overlooked
This guy was signing kids hats and stuff on the putting green on Sunday, every other pro just ignored them…. This guy actually cares
Lol you’re insane bud. Pros are out there competing for their livelihood week in and week out. They try and stay laser focused during a round. To imply they don’t care is negligently. Block was a good story for 4 days but can we please move on from this guy
For a split second, the flag or whatever it was zooming by real quick at 0:23 had me thinking someone else was REAL eager to take their shot lol
Hope he makes the cut in this week's tournament
Watching him all week was pure joy.
Not all heroes wear capes, some wear hooded sweatshirts
love that he's playing in a hoodie! :D
He probably had the best tee shots combined on 15 of any golfer over the week
The slow build...on Thursday he's got 10 - 20 people watching him with a few random, polite claps...by Sunday he's got a Tiger gallery and there's a mob known as the "Blockheads" going ballistic...the ace on 15 was incredible, but of course like all holes in one it was luck...the up and down on 17 & 18...that was balls
Got in a rollercoaster
He had 15's number all week. What a legend.
It SLAM DUNKED into the hole, Rory hugging him and saying "it went in" and Michael not believing it. Walking to the green and realizing what he had done, the one in a billion shot. Michael Block will dine out on that shot forever, and the thoroughly deserves it. Listen to the roar from the crowd at the ball smacks into the hole, THAT is golf right there. "Get in the hole??" It did.
Great that the cameras stayed with him all the way to the green
We love it!!!!
That is nuts!!
Great golf !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the stuff Documentary s are made of was that real Life
He is the everyman, I love it
He has a net worth of $18 million 🤣 'everyman' 🤣
PGA pushing this story so hard
They hate that a LIV player won 😂
To be frank I was thinking that was the case too at first but his dunk-in hole-in-one and last two par saves are quite magical. Brooks' win was phenomenal tho!
Yeah, right. LIV is soooo popular every CW affiliate cut away with four holes remaining during the last “tournament” to show reruns 😂
Facts
This is the typa shit that inspired every disney movie between 1990 and 2005.
Definition of stroking it
6:25 Simply perfect
Block being a club pro, how on earth did Michael Jordan get his digits?!?! MB, better print and frame that text message from MJ! It'll be one hell of a story to tell!
I wonder if he would take an offer from LIV if they approached him.
He stole the show this week, sorry Koepka. Looking forward to seeing him in next year's tourney. Also looking forward to his Champion's Tour career should he go that route.
EVERYBODY said they want a lesson from him. He only gives lessons to his friends.
Michael Block is the new John Daly. Let's see how long he's in the public eye.
Hey handsome how are you doing
Block doesn't need to give lessons anymore because he has a net worth of $18 million
@@SiLoMixMaster That's my point. Way to verify my belief.
Magic ball.
Michael Block has a lot of touch in his hands. His swing is a bit like the reverse C of Nicklaus and guys like Colin Montgomery.
Tin Cup. It’s the Kevin Costner movie all over, but for real. Remember his name in the movie, Roy MacElroy
I can’t wait till the Liv tour signs him.
fort worth, here he comes
How much he shallows the club, crazy
If I thought for a second you could fake a golf shot, I’d be convinced.
This was tigereske style clutch around the greens. Incredible performance. Can’t wait to see what the tour can make out of him!
10:01 best shot of the tournament.
Contrast 1:09 with 6:25
During Michael Block's final round at the PGA, my wife gave birth to a beautiful baby boy and she wasn't even pregnant, this is the sort of miracle that only Michael Block can make happen.
First there was God, then there was Jesus, now there's Michael Block.
Superb comment and congratulations 😂
They’re only pumping this guy because a LIV player won the tournament
This is why LIV golf will fail. MIserably. This is what the PGA tour is all about.
Mediocre golfer??
This not a racist comment, so it's good to see a male caucasian getting great attention from the sports world! I just hope Michael Block isn't a flash in the pan and then back to obscurity.
Block is the personification of 'flash in the pan'
Was an awesome Showing but Once Rory Said it Went STRAIGHT IN THE HOLE, Don’t keep asking him!!!! His week was Tremendous but bc of the Tour being at War w LIV … CBS AND NANCE, was a lil too much imo!
Don't know who won... but we all know who Michael Block is now... great story
Same lol!
You know fine well who won, but keep trying to cope #LIVgolf #KingKoepka
BLOCK! BLOCK! BLOCK! BLOCK! BLOCK!
The absolute goat! Love this guy!!!!
