Hey Jason great stuff man thanks again for doing all you do. Thought ...what do you think about using the VR 33 on the Pod Max with a USB C connection into the Yolobox using the remote for football broadcasts? Do you think the podmax can handle the weight of the VR 33? It appears to have done fine in your demonstration.
I will handle this weight and more. My only concern would be the VM33 out-zooming the smartphone running Pivo software. It will AI body track me to 60+ feet in my auditorium, even walking behind pillars. But the VM33 will zoom much farther. I’ll give it a try with my dogs tomorrow.
@@JasonHoffmanYT I think your right pal... Im thinking just using the Pod Max for it's "pan" feature with the VR33. Sounds like what you stated that it would have no trouble with the weight of VR33...pretty pumped buddy...thanks as always for the quick reply.
Jason, thanks for a great demo. Can you share how you are recording your audio for this video? Looks like a Bluetooth lav., but I’ve had trouble using those with PIVO. Can you share your work around?
I was recording audio on my ipad for this one. The Pivo app doesn’t pick up external mics for some reason. At least I havent been able to make it do so.
good stuff as always. Still trying to find a solution for softball PTZ without the huge cost. I like this concept but im not sold that the pivo wont get confused with all the action happening on the field. Hope youre well Jason
Their marketing shows a single person in frame most of the time. Which makes it good for practice and finding problems with a swing or bad throwing habits.
Can it keep up with fast action? I do notice unnecessary movement on static shots. Maybe because it's designed for motion or because you have predictive setting on, but its a bit annoying. I can see use cases for this device though.
Hey, I notice you respond to your viewers, that is great. Hopefully I get that same treatment. Great video. May I ask, if I have a heavy camera and lens, would this Max work with and for me? Will it be compatible with my tripod? Or do they force you to buy their own accessories?
@@EsauistheCaucasian I’m asking where the center of gravity would be on your setup, still under the camera or would the lens move it way out front of the camera? The Max has 2kg payload capacity and its motor is listed as 90mNM. If the 1/4 20 on your camera is too far behind the center of gravity I’d be concerned the motor would bind and not function well. Just my 2 cents. Thanks!
It COULD be one view in a Multicam setup. If mounted between home and first it would track a batter coming out of the box. The upcoming Obsbot Tail Air is a camera which will do this, and maybe better…
My thinking on tracking basketball is to track the near side ref. Trying to get tracking in a sport with uniforms is tough so a ref jersey should stand out enough to work.
@@JasonHoffmanYT ok because yesterday I went ahead and ordered the pivo max and what I'm trying to do is record more basketball highlights like when I go to the gym. So with that being said are you telling me to wear a different shirt or something like that while I play??
Thanks mate. Very excited for this to arrive
What is your use case for the Pivo?
Hi Jason, thanks for the review. Could you please recommend which would be best to use to record basketball games?
Which camera are you planning to use with the Pivo? Or are you asking about camera recommendation?
thank you so much for this!!
You're so welcome!

Thanks for this very helpful video.
Glad it was helpful!

Quick question, do this work with a basketball game.
I have used it for basketball. Be sure and run your pan speed up pretty high.

The remote does give some speed adjustment. I did have predictive on.
Nice toy. Lots of uses for the device; thanks Jason.
Thanks Bruce! I dont see enough added functionality with smaller cameras but for those who have heavier equipment…

It’s a basic 1/4 20 on bottom. If you mount your camera on a tripod where is the center of balance, front to back?
@@JasonHoffmanYT Yes it is. But my setup is very heavy. Sony FX3 w/ 70-200m Lens.

@@JasonHoffmanYT Front loaded, yes. (Thanks for replying!)
Trying to wrap my head around how this can be utilized for baseball/softball streaming.

@@JasonHoffmanYT I’m patiently waiting for AI software that will follow the ball!
Would be interesting to track a soccer player..
For practice and drills it would be very useful. Dont think its going to be able to handle too many people in frame.
What about basketball??

Is there anything else that competes? …and isn’t a professional-only, high-cost device.
I dont think so. If you’re just looking for the ability to remotely pan there are devices available under 100.
