    I think an advantage for the kahr is that it accepts 1911 mags. Im currently shopping around for a small .45. THis vid really helps. thanks for making it!

    Ha! "Oh, you get a lock, too! There's a lock and we'll just put it over here in the garbage can." I went with my brother when he bought his first new handgun (the only handgun he had ever owned, up to that point, was bought from a friend) and that lock was in the case. He asked me "how do I use this?", and I said "you take it out of the gun case, and throw it in the trash."

      The lock is included to comply with usually state laws that require devices to prevent kids from getting into daddies guns and killing themselves and/or others. I have a drawer filled with locks and use some to secure my tools out in my shop and my motorcycle helmet.

    I ABSOLUTELY love my SHIELD 45 ACP. I also have it in 9mm.
    They are excellent for concealed carry. I love em both and shoot the 45acp more accurately from 12 yards out!!!!

    Love my shield 45! But I admit I loved the looks and feel of the xds and I’m not too educated on the Khar so I can’t be objective on that but I’d highly recommend the shield 45

    I just bought a .45 Shield to augment my 9mm Shield. I had previously owned a Glock G36. I liked everything about it except for its grip. I like everything about my new .45 Shield except for its mags. I'm either going to have to invest in a mag loader or a gym membership...

    Sweet 45 acp sub-compact collection! I don't think a shooter could go wrong with any of these firearms and it was wise of S&W to finally bring the Shield out in the mother round.

    Hey Mr. Holster! Could you help me out with this? Im thinking about trading in my shield 45 for an xds in 9mm. the shield grip is too thin for my liking, and the length of pull is too short for where my finger naturally wants to stretch to. So i have to consciously remember to fingertip the trigger. Do you think the xds helps in those aspects? thanks!

    • @joehill1887
      @joehill1887 7 лет назад +1

      Patrick Allen I've got a xds 45 and it's been a pain for it to cycle and go into battery. My shield 9mm is far superior and would use it for a life and death situation. The xds 45 not that sure of it.

  • @roadking681
    @roadking681 2 года назад

    I got all 3 of those guns and I like my Kahr the best. The Shield and the SA has more recoil then the Kahr. When I shoot the Kahr CW45 it shoots flatter with less recoil. My Kahr to me has just barley a little bit more recoil then my micro 9's but in a 45 caliber. I just sold my SA XDs for the new XD-M ELITE 3.8″ COMPACT OSP 10MM. If u want a flat shooting accurate subcompact very concealable with low recoil pistol then go with the Kahr.

    • @codyscorner4337
      @codyscorner4337 2 года назад +1

      Think I’m gonna pick one up , I have the shield 45 has a good pop , like the silver and black on the kahr

    • @roadking681
      @roadking681 2 года назад

      @@codyscorner4337 The trick with the Kahr's because of the tight spring and tight tolerances it has a 250 round break in period. What I do to avoid all that is before I shoot it I do the following after I make sure the gun is unloaded: 1. Rack the slide back atleast 300 times 2. Leave the slide in the racked back position for a week 3. Clean the gun thoroughly and oil it. Then take it to the range and it should function flawlessly. I learned this procedure from a retired cop who carry's Kahrs on him every day as his edc and he owns several Kahrs which is one of his favorite guns. Good luck with your new CW45, I own one myself and have several other Kahrs and after doing that procedure I've never had a hicup on any of mine.

    Very nice comparison, Trying to decide on the shield, Glock 30s, or the XDS 45, really don't care much for Kahr had a couple of them and rail system is junk, (as far as I am concerned),

    • @MrHolster
      @MrHolster  8 лет назад +1

      Yes the rear plastic rails are not that impressive don't know how they will hold up over the long haul. I am very impressed with my Xd/s I really love that sidearm. We shall shoot the Shield and see how it performs. Thanks for Watchin'

    Just picked up a Kahr CW 45, and the feel is great. It's also just a tad longer than my Taurus pt111 g2 in 9mm. And it is actually lighter in weight. It is very much a concealed carry, and with that extra 45 power you have a great personal defense weapon!

    • @MrHolster
      @MrHolster  8 лет назад

      Yes I have been pleased with my CW45's Thanks for Watchin'

  • @louisv7795
    @louisv7795 7 лет назад +2

    Okay, you said the height of the S&W is less then the Kahr, and that's where you need it for concealed carry. When you put up the dimensions the S&W and the Kahr's height are the same!??? What gives?

    I agree that the Smith is ergonomic and popular but I really hate the hole in the top. Stupid, stupid, stupid kind of chamber indicator. Also hate the hinged trigger as well as the safety. All flawed designs. If they fix those things I would possibly want one.
    Oh, I also hate how you have to reach down inside and poke it with a stick to field strip it. Totally stupid.

    Good video. Sorry, but these are not for me. If i'm shooting a 45, I like a larger gun. I'm sure you will have to shoot a lot ,to be good with these. You have a good one.
