Thank you very much, everyone, for watching the video♥. We hope it has been helpful to you!! We would like to know your experiences so, which region of Asturias or Spain in general do you think is the best to live in?
I have a holiday home in sotrondio not far from oviedo. We are from scotland and love everything about asturias also oviedo is like our second home, we love it. So happy for you guys on your adventure and cant wait to get over there for good in 5 years to start our adventure❤
Thank you so much for your comment! We love Asturias also! It is such an amazing region and we want to keep exploring every corner of the principality of Asturias and keep discovering new places!
My ancestors came from Asturius and I was the first of my family to return after my ancestor left for Cuba 200 years ago. Although I didn't find any family still living there (yet), it was amazing to visit and I can't wait to return with my wife & kids.
Take trains more than planes. Especially for these short distances. Trains are relaxing and they help at sparing the air we breathe. Definitely ride the choo-choo when you can. Yahoo. Nice video.
Wow! So glad I clicked on your video! I am hopefully moving to Spain around the end of September/beginning of October from the US and have been researching northern cites and Oviedo was on my list. What a lovely place and the weather and outdoors ticks some of my 'must-have' boxes! It would be so cool to meet you both at some point!
Thank you very much for watching the video, we are so happy you liked it. Yes Oviedo is a great option the city is small but you have everything and you can go walking everywhere. Asturias has amazing cuisine and the landscapes are stunning. Also plenty of routes if you like hiking or going to mountains
Lovely! I also just moved to Asturias with my partner from Sweden this past April. I'm from California (and Mexico) and my partner is from Spain. We love it here, thanks for sharing your insights. Saludos desde Avilés!
@@katekarpenko4475 Hey! Thus far, I like how the temperature is not too extreme here. I've yet to experience the whole year but thus far it's not that seriously different from where I'm from (San Diego and north of Baja California). It does rain way more often, and it's been cloudy with not much sun, yet the temperature stays nice and mellow (coming from someone who also relocated from Gothenburg, Sweden this past April; lived there for about a year). Overall, more sunny days where I come from but temperature here is nice, nonetheless.
@FahoodyAdventures great video! We are planning to move to Oviedo with the family soon. One question if you don’t mind - I have a middle eastern appearance, will it be harder to integrate into society, especially given that I don’t know Spanish yet? I’m asking because afaik north is much more homogeneous than south.
@@pmatar thanks for your comment, I think you wouldnt have any problem. In fact there are pockets of Morrocan, Pakistan etc communities. Spanish people are very nice!! I suggest you learn some phrases in Spanish that will makr you go a long way. Dont worry and enjoy your time here!
Hello and thank you very much for watching the video. The airport is called aeropuerto de Asturias OVD. Is only 30 minutes by car to Oviedo and there are Alsa buses that go to the main cities from the airport. And yes there are trains that go to Paris from Barcelona for example :)
@@FahoodyAdventures Thank you so very much! Your video was very informative. I’m trying to plan a trip to Spain and Paris and Italy for next year and you gave me some great information. I especially want to see Aviles because that’s where my family is from.
The three main cities of Asturias (Gijón, Oviedo and Avilés) are in a triangle each 30 km apart of each other. There's a highway linking them called 'the Y' because of its shape.
Yes, there are some nice trails to go cycling in the outskirts of the city, but what I mean that oviedo is not very friendly to go cycling inside the city
Ohh we are very happy to hear that!! Yes Asturias is an amazing choice and now in spring and summer there are always a lot of festivals and events to enjoy in the weekends
Thank you very much!! For sure, here you have the link for the Facebook group, they have meetings almost every day of the week and everyone is more than welcome facebook.com/groups/1014001301971844 The folk night it depends they don't have a fixed schedule is just better check on the internet because there are a lot of festivals and interesting things going around in Asturias
Hi! Thanks for an informative video! Can I ask you if Oviedo is really bad for cycling? You can't commute by bike there and you can't ride it just for fun?
There is no specific Path for cycling so you have to go on the same road with the rest of the cars. And also the city is very sloppy. But some people still do cycling, on the other hand Gijón is more adapted for cycling
Hello guys! My partner (from Venezuela) and I living in Oviedo for about one year now. I love the smaller towns like Mieres, Grado and Pola de Siero as well! My partner is still waiting for his residencia. Maybe one day we can meet eachother! 😘
Hope you guys are enjoying Oviedo!! Yes Mieres and Grado are absolutely beautiful. We wish your partner a quicker residency visa and yes would love to catch with you guys in person one day!😇
Winters are not bad hahaha not very cold like in Other parts of Spain for example Madrid is more cold in winter than in Asturias, because is more close to the sea and makes temperature more mild. However, there is less sunlight because is usually more cloudy and rainy. Everything has their pros and cons
When I heard the guys playing in the pub I thought "what are these Irish guys doing playing here" so so much like Irish music, except they are missing the bodhran!

Beautiful, I love Asturias, where exactly is the city you are talking about, I can't figure it out. Sorry....
Thank you very much! We are living in Oviedo, but we are talking about Asturias in general :)
You mentioned that it's complicated there to go cycling.

You are very correct there! We had the same feeling. The music sounds very similar to Irish music. So is the general friendly atmosphere!
That’s because the Asturias is Celtic. Check out their flag, it is a Celtic cross.
