    I quit too. I'd say there is no point wasting energy worrying about it, your potential will not get any greater later on in life than it is right now.

    The effects of alcohol are well documented. Impairment begins with the first drink, and increases with each drink thereafter. As mentioned in the video, a person's emotions may be affected in different ways and with varying doses of alcohol.

    If I could go back and do it all over again, I would not have hit alcohol nearly so hard. My first 24 hr hangover was hell. Being 15 is so brainless in terms of sobriety, but taking the pain as encouragement is a trap.

    People hate to hear bad things about their bad habits. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that alcohol makes you look and feel like shit over time. If it was healthy you wouldn't get a distorted pocked marked red nose and a beach ball belly. If bars were serving shots of wheatgrass you would see people leaving them with clear beautiful skin, but you don't.

    I am pretty sure that is the number 1 drug they are drinking. lol Hipporcrates, a westeren medicine pioneer, stated “Leave your drugs in the chemist's pot if you can heal the patient with food" and "Food is medicine".

    To detect alcohol it's the horizontal gaze and nystagmus for other controlled substances its vertical gaze and nystagmus.

    I disagree from your opinion about alcohol as far as pointlessness. If you watched the video, then you would agree that there are positive attributes to ingesting the substance. Quite possibly the negative side to this argument that you promote is that in your experience you have exceeded the dose. In that case, it does contribute to terrible side affects socially, mentally and to your health. However, I've been in your shoes and I know how you feel. DUI's suck, but its not the drugs fault.

    11:00 saying that children build synapses faster than adults is completely unconnected to ability to learn - he is using 'scientific' concepts to pedal ideas which are unproven.
    Also quoting rat studies with regards to alcohol is meaningless, in case anyone had not noticed humans and not rats drink alcohol.

    • @theboyisnotright6312
      @theboyisnotright6312 2 года назад +4

      Not sure about rats but I've seen diary cows seek out the fermented silage so they can get drunk. They will eat the basically rotten stuff over fresh feed. Pretty sure getting high is universal.
      I've had 3 cats, 2 of them loved catnip, the 3rd did it once and after would runaway when I put it out. I was intrigued by the one who didn't like it.

    • @beeech1080
      @beeech1080 Год назад +1

      Actually building synapses faster is connected to learning because that is where learning occurs according to today's science. There's lots of studies now. Also using rats doesn't 100 percent prove anything sure, but it can give us a good idea. Lots of evidence has shown that the rats brain is similar to the human brain. Also, at 2years old you actually had more synapsis and that's why children learn so much faster than adults. Children learn how to walk faster than some adults can relearn how to walk. So, it's actually pretty connected.

      Anything that artificially bangs away at the brain's pleasure center needs to be used cautiously. Sugar is as bad as nicotine in mho.

  • @steelcash
    @steelcash 12 лет назад +9

    So on average it happens once every two hours or so. The hypocrisy of it is insane. Alcohol is advertised like it's a health food. People drink and it's socially acceptable. But you have to hide when you want to smoke weed. Do the research. I have. I've done hundreds of hours of research. Smoking is healthier, safer, smarter, and cheaper. The high is lightyears better and more fun. Put down the bottle and pick up the pipe. You'll be glad you did. Peace.

      I agree mostly. But from years of smoking pot I do know it makes you stupider. Pot is better for your body then booze but please don't say it's benign. Not dumb as a rock stupider, but a little slower mentally. And at least in my case this is dose related. Once or twice a week no problem normally. Until I took college physics. When I gave up all weed I picked it up much quicker. But then, at least for me, physics took about all my brain to comprehend. Just my experience.
