Thank you, in addition to your aviation knowledge, you have a gift for presenting complex info and making it simple but not watered down. All the best...
Really great video, you've covered the initial steps to using vatsim and flight planning really well. I had to watch multiple videos in the past from other sources and had to piece stuff together but you covered the basics very well in one video.
XP, thank you for spending time making this video and breaking it down into plain English. Been simming since being a kid but never took the step to vatsim, defiantly ready to take the leap and enjoy it. With your tips and tricks it will make it a lot easier! Thanks again for a great tutorial. Look forward to the next steam.
Anyone new to Vatsim and ATC, just relax and take your time. I hear to many people trying to rattle off the comms as fast as possible. Great video XP72.
Thank you so much! You broke everything down and made it simple! It was well done! Best tutorial thus far! EVERYBODY: MAKE SURE YOU WATCH IT ALL, its worth your while! :)
Listened to this again after using Pilot2ATC for many months - that program helps alot in learning. Good video once again! (And yes, won't say `with you'...) Thanks!
Wow, thank you so much for your explaination. At first, I had no clue what anything on simbrief meant, what to say when im in the aircraft itself and what to do as a whole. After staying here watching this video for 50 minutes, you've explained everything that I was clueless of and made it way easier to understand what to do in vatsim. Great video, definitely coming back to this vid again sometime if i forget anything, you earned a sub 😊
Thank you for the video it was very informative, and I did watch all of it. I have been set and ready to go for months but never had the confidence to try it. I will take the plunge later this week. Keep up the great videos. Much appreciated.
Thanks Buddy big help, I'm not ready yet, and will continue my training until I get there. You've been a big help to let me know my areas I need to work on, so thanks so much for the video.!! Good Day.!!
THANK YOU sooo much XP72 ! Building new PC and buying FS2020 and I was very intimidated by VATSIM. Already passed the test to connect...so valuable your video, thank you again !
Love this information, I'm just now learning to fly the a320 and at some point this will take it all to the next level!!! Oh and you have a new sub here!!
XP Wish i found this video a long time ago, you have put all of the pieces together from Vatsim, to building a flight plan to using Navigraph which i have not found anywhere else , great job
Very well explained! Thanks so much. Looking to get started in Vatsim (I'm hoping MSFS is finally stable enough to use). This is great introductory information. The only added information maybe for your video if you want to pin a comment to let people know is that you now need to take an "open book" test of 15 questions in order to log into the VATSIM network for the first time. 80% or better to pass, but can be retaken after an hour if you screw it up! Thanks again, and maybe "see" or hear you in the "air" sometime!
One of my biggest problems was turning down the sound so I could hear the controllers I didn't even know separating the airplane and controller sounds was possible, my usb sound card came in the mail today and it's like night and day difference I don't have to worry about the vatsim controller saying they can't hear me because of the background noise. Been simming for a while but everytime I watch your videos lately it's costing me $$$$ last purchase was the gaming rig now just waiting for the alpha throttle quadrant and I'm set (for now). 🤣
Expect altitude is there in case you loose communication. It's more of an advisory than an instruction. Beyond what ATC tells you, your instructions are in the charts. And when they say cleared...for your SID, or climb via SID, that means you are cleared including altitudes at the waypoints. Chances are you'll get an altitude change before the end of the time they give you. In many large airports, they have departure and arrival gates. Imagine a fence in the airspace around the airport. A gate is an opening in that imaginary fence. All traffic is directed through those openings during departure and arrival to keep the airspace clear on runway headings.
Thanks - very well done. Wish I saw this when first starting out. Look forward to an Arrival VATSIM video... (if it isn't out there already). Also wondered if you ever used Squawkbox as a client on XP11....?
FYI 5x5 is a scale as you said, but there are two characteristics being measured, not just one. The first measurement is for loudness, and the second is for clarity. For example: a quiet but clear transmission could be reported as 2x5. Loud and unintelligible would be 5x1.
Kirk is a natural born teacher. He does an excellent job of outlining what VATSIM is and how you can use it.
I have been waiting for a streamer to make a vid about this. Thanks you XP. Your a life saver 👍👨✈️😊
You’re welcome man.
I was really hesitant about going on vatsim this made it alot easier. Now when ever I fly I'm always on the net work. Thank you xp72

@@XP72official Assuming I can't afford Navigraph, is there any other option to use?
Their might be some charts available on Airnav.com but I haven’t been there in years.
Great video XP
Was wondering what I needed, navigraph is what I needed turns out
Honestly a game changer video
Hey, Any idea on why the simbrief fms plan always crashes my game whenever i load it in a 737?
Don’t know, that’s why I put it in manually.
