I get Four Rose Single Barrel for $36 in my area and have seen it on sale for as low as $30. Very good for the price and better than a lot of higher priced bourbons.
You sure you’re not mistaking it for four roses small batch? Msrp is probably $10 more than the stores pay for it. Just curious why they would be losing money in your area
@@J-brrr I'm sure. At the time I posted this the pricing at Total Wine was unbelievably low. I was getting Russell's Reserve for $28. TW prices have increased about $3 - $6 dollars on various bottles since the post but are still the lowest around. There is a lot of compettion in the area.
Yo Brewzle! These are my favorite whiskey review videos on RUclips. Your rating system is precise without being too high brow or obscure, you’re doing it blind, and I’m excited to see how some of my favorites stack up on your scale
Slowly becoming a big fan of the channel since I discovered it a month ago. So much so that I legitimately yelled out loud when I saw you were doing Four Roses Single Barrel as that’s my bourbon of choice right now haha.
Great review. FRSB was my first real neat pour bottle. Still always have a bottle on the shelf, you just can't go wrong with it. Now, some of the barrel strength store picks are next level.
I tried the four Roses single barrel about 6 months ago when i started working at a liquor store and instantly fell in love with it! My boss was cool enough to order a extra case for me, so i returned the favor by leaving a bottle at the store for when we want a lil taste of that goodness lol.
It took me a while to buy my first bottle of this really for no other reason than I knew I could find it when I went looking for it. After drinking on it for a while have to say that this 4R SiB is one of my favorites and is in my rotation permanently. Cheers and great review!
Pretty new to bourbon here and 4 Roses is my favorite so far. Love the reviews and keep up the good work. Your page is my go to with picking up the next bottle to try.
I did a blind with this and the Four Roses Select and with (IMO) the nose being better on the single barrel and the taste on both being about as even as two bourbons could be seeing as how the single barrel is $9 cheaper it's a no brainer for me! 🌹🌹🌹🌹 🥃cheers!
I just started with Bourbons. Tried about 20 different good names American whiskies. So far, Four Roses I liked the most. Thanks for you job. This is my favorite Whisky channel on RUclips .
Hey! My favorite so far has been Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Edition. Around $60, you can’t go wrong with it i think! If i had the money that would be my daily go to
I didn’t know that about four roses. I have a bottle of Four roses single barrel on my bar and in a decanter. I use it for Old Fashioned. Can’t wait to see what you’re going to review next!!
Two things: #1) I really enjoy your vids @brewzle, they are very informative and fairly unbiased. #2) I wish complexity didn't rank so heavy. I appreciate stronger, simple flavor profiles. The four roses is nothing like copper fox rye out of VA with a boatload of flavors to sort through or makers mark cask strength where that French oak/vanilla carries the flavor. *sorry I know I said "2 things", but I really wish you dive into rye*
I saw a lot of four roses at the liquor store I go to. I'm just getting into bourbon so I kinda passed over on it as I didn't know anything about the product. I'll have to definitely grab a bottle next time I go. Thanks for the reviews, they're a great help for a newbie like me to find stuff to try.
These are usually awesome. I had one from the sixth floor and it was a hot burner. Bad very bad. Since then I've had four more bottles from floors 1, 2, & 3. Those were all hitters.👍 Low floors for me from here on out.
Love what you are doing, way over here in Australia we get really different levels of availability to what you guys get throughout the US, for example Blanton's is generally available in most major liquor chains. Bourbon hunting over here is mostly online and depends on the luck on what is listed for sale. This bottle is one of my favourites. Keep up the good work, you have a fan from Down Under
Finally got a bottle of this after my American aunt brought it up from the USA. Maaaaan, if I could get this in BC, Canada, I'd be drinking it everyday. ~$60 (CA) is a winning price for a bourbon this good!
Learning to appreciate different bourbon flavors. Just had this 4R for the first time and the first drink I didn't like. Matter of fact, I like EW Bottled in Bond way more. After watching this video, however, I'm now glad I decided to start collecting bourbons.
i just got a four roses single barrel from a store on the upper west side 57.99. i’m looking forward to trying it. it’s got different notes than yours and is from a different barrel. standard four roses i tend to think is just ok but i’m excited to try a single barrel that isn’t blended to taste like every other four roses
I just bought a bottle 40-3 A and it’s so damn smooth with a honeydew smell like a fruit stripe gum aroma super interesting!!! This can get you in trouble quick!!!!
This stuff is great. It may not be allocated, but it may be soon. Neat, with ice or a splash of ginger ale either way it's on my never pass up list. I'll be buying every bottle I see.
Hey I love this newer review method and rating. Such a great review for something easy to find like Four Roses. This is the review for us average bourbon drinkers. I just made a video using four roses for my old fashioned. I also had the story of the four roses name. I couldn't find the belles name either. lol. anyways I am loving the channel and reviews. keep it up. cheers.
I am enjoying the beginning of my bourbon journey. Tried a few whiskeys in the past and never liked it. After watching your shorts I wanted to enjoy a gentlemen’s drink. Four roses is the first bourbon I actually enjoyed. Found a small batch today but still no single barrel. I am curious to dive deeper into how Utah manages its liquor stores and stock.
Just bought a bottle of this last week.. might be 2 pours left, fantastic whiskey and glad I got this one because some of my recent expiremntal purchases haven't panned out. Granted I had not seen this video 1st so I didn't realize it was just their high rye Mash which is what Bulliet used to source from 4 Roses and typically Bulliet is my daily drinker so no wonder I like a version with a little more proof and complexity
Grate into. Never had this one since I’m really new to a tru bourbon dude. But I’m on my way to get this now. I’ll be back to tell how I like. I love buffalo trace
I find Single barrel to be an okay neat pour, but that it happens to hold its identity better than the other standard release 4 roses. Personally, though, i think that Small Batch is my canidate for my everyday drinker, just hits the price range, versatility, and flavor requirements than anything else the 4 roses has.
Not an expert but from listening to this gentleman talk he says that a single barrel will have different flavors from other single barrels of the same make. You might be able to try another single barrel and it could be better than the small batch. Single barrels are hit and miss.
@@brandonbock4763 correct, there are undoubtedly some excellent single barrels out there as they will all be different. The consistency of the small is what I prefer. I know exactly what I’m getting every time. If 4 roses sold out a lot faster in my area and we saw different barrels on the shelf regularly I’d be more willing to buy them. Cheers!
I was not a huge fan of 4 roses but was curious what others thought of it. I really like eagle rare 10 year any suggestions on bottles that are similar?
Four roses are all very good but single barrel is my favorite. Our ABC stores run out too often. $46.95 in N C right now. I will start buying 2 at a time when they get another delivery.
Just recently started watching your channel. Love the content! Gotta say you seem to have a similar palate to myself. You should do a Woodinville video!
Not necessarily the single barrel, but I have become very fond of Four Roses yellow label and Bulleit, for both price and availability. I have tried dozens of more expensive bourbons in hopes of finding one that is truly magical. Many have been $100+ bottles, many samples at restaurants that were $75 a glass, and I still always drift back to Four Roses and Bulleit for daily consumption. It's disappointing to pay so much for bourbon that tastes like brown acetone... some of these craft distilleries sell you on small batch, but the quality just isn't there. In the end, at around $25/bottle, you really can't do much better for a nice, rounded, drinkable bourbon than Four Roses or Bulleit. IMO anyways. Thanks for the great review.

Give anything bulleit a go, too, specifically the barrel strength if you like high high proof stuff. Spendy, but good
Yes what Balin James said Bulleit is my favorite!
