Jack Daniels, the perfectly average whiskey that is good enough to drink on its own, yet cheap and available enough to use for any mixing. Always have a bottle on hand because it is so versatile.

Don't care to mix it with anything. I do enjoy it with a good cigar like a gran habano corojo no.5. Subbed and thank you for the review.

Jack, until recently, the only whiskey I like straight. I'm a novice to whiskey, so it's strong for me, but I like seeing it from the view of a whiskey aficionado. Strangely, I like jack but not bourbon, despite being made a similar way

I agree. I like 0ld #7 the best, got their bourbon just once, had one drink, and gave the rest away. to me, bourbon just doesn't do it. I love that beautiful warm bloom you get when JD hits the bottom of your gut.

Charcoal filtering doesn't "add" flavor per se, it removes some of the chemicals found in young, whiskey. So technically, they are adding flavor by removing chemicals and that technically makes it a bourbon.

He gave up drinking when I was about 10 because he had a real heavy drinking problem and surely would not be around today if he kept going.

Jack Daniel's clearly stats on the bottle that it's whiskey not bourbon! So bourbon is a type of whiskey that’s made from at least 51% corn and aged in new charred oak barrels, while whiskey can be made from any grain and aged in any type of wood barrel.

Jack Daniels was the 5th, 6th, and 7th whiskey I've tried. The first one I tried was Gentleman Jack which was very underwhelming. The 2nd was the Single Barrel Select which absolutely blasted me with a char flavor that was too distracting for me to enjoy it, even when I mixed it with coke. The 3rd was No7 which was definitely more tame than the SBS (and was delicious with coke, go figure), but the char flavor/smell was still too distracting to enjoy it neat or over ice.
In case anyone is curious, my experience with whiskey up to this point has been J. Reiger Kansas City Whiskey (Kansas Native, had to be my first. I'm not including the awful sip of Orange Jameson I had), Willett Pot Still Reserve bourbon, Wild Turkey 101 bourbon, and Old Forester Statesman bourbon (Went to the store looking for Old Forester 86, but Statesman had a cooler label).

Added note: Jack Daniels actually made their bottle that shape to make it harder for others to sell their product by slapping another name on it. Also people would add the Jack name to a random bottle and it be total hog wash, so that protects their name as well.

Hi i know this is an old video but i believe you should have value at a far higher %. The cost of a product plays the biggest role in a average consumers choice, especially with the price of alcohol these days. The average person isn't going to casually and consistently drop $250 on a bottle of whiskey just because its a little more fancy or complex.
