    Moisture chamber glasses have been around for a long time but is something that not many dry eye specialists speak about frequently. Dry eye glasses work by helping decrease the evaporation rate of the tear film from the eye.
    Dry eye glasses can be helpful for people who suffer from evaporative dry eye symptoms. Primarily those who work long hours on the computer, outside in windy conditions or in areas where there is very low humidity.
    In this moisture goggles review, we go over the Moisture Release Eyewear from Eye Eco.
    Here are some key features
    - Comfortable moisture sealing gasket around the eyes
    - Flexible nose bridge for precise fitting
    - Moisture release sponge cartridges which provide up to 6 hours of moisture
    - Anti-fog Lenses
    *comes in 2 sizes and Prescription lenses can be placed into the frame.

    I actually bought my first pair of these about 8 years ago, really liked the added pieces that can be soaked in water for added relief, they are however too clunky and would never wear out in public.
    Luckily I have found here in The Netherlands they custom make moisture chambers for regular eye glasses frames and so just this morning I came out of my first appointment. They are extremely discreet and I’m super happy! Also it’s covered by our health insurance which is great cause they are expensive!

    I have found ski googles help me the best, for walking, running, working in yard, etc. I don't have to worry about them sliding down my nose and they have adequate foam, which makes them comfortable. And, ski goggles are fairly cheap. I have about 6 pair, with different levels of tint (clear to high tint).

      How do you manage the ski goggles fogging up as you said you use them for running and outside work when sweating? Do they not fog? or do you have to treat them with something?

    • @larryjones9773
      @larryjones9773 Год назад +1

      @@chrisblupo I don't have problems with them fogging up. I live in Houston, where it rarely gets cold.
      I thinking fogging up is more of a problem when it's very cold. I recall this while snow skiing. I always carried some defogging wipes with me.
      p.s. I originally tried safety goggles, but I found them very uncomfortable (not enough foam, like the ski goggles have).

    I am about to buy these glasses, but I have read some comments in which, contrary to the opinion you have, they say that they do not seal completely.
    If it really is like that, then they wouldn't work for me, because I can't stand even a light breeze.
    Doc, did you try them outdoors on a windy day and still felt completely sealed, that is, no wind reached your eyes? or you just tried them indoors?
    Thanks!

    The glasses look perfect!
    Am saving up for them.
    As a side-note, I fixed a stye in my own eye myself from your videos, Thanku!
    Saved hundreds of dollars..!
    Additional question, the tiny blockage was apparently there for some time before it got red & inflamed.
    Inflammation completely gone, but that tiny blockage (essentially a tiny pimple) got hard like a little pebble.
    I tried expressing it myself, but it’s too hard, won’t soften now, doctors want to do surgeries, yikes..!
    I remember a video that showed tiny almost microscopic tweezers, can’t find that video tho.
    Can an opthomologist do that with those, or is it a big production with anesthesia and all that? Thanks!

    • @DoctorEyeHealth
      @DoctorEyeHealth  3 года назад +2

      Hey this is all great news! Glad things got better and I was able to help. If the glands solidified then often the manual gland expression wont work. The surgeon will often need to either do an injection with a steroid or they will need to manually drain it. The procedure does not require anesthesia. It is done in the clinic with a local anesthetic to numb he eyelid and you are just on some antibiotics afterword. I hope to post a video about the procedure some day in the next few months.

      Excellent question..!
      My thoughts exactly!
      And what about the sponges (these glasses don’t use sponges, uses vinyl and are washable),
      the sponges that are permanently glued around some of those eye pads that gather bacteria and can’t be removed to be washed?
      And what about the compresses that are like tiny pillows in some of the eye-patches that push in on the eyeball, ouch..!

    Why didn't my doc ever mention these? I have very dry eyes. Can a patient get blue light lenses, and many other things in the lenses? I will ask, even though I think I know the answer, can they be placed over other glasses. Figure... no. I have two different astigmatisms. Hard to read, and hard to see long distance. And floaters that really give me a hard time. If I turn my head too quickly, I see flashes of light, in the outer corners of my eyes. And visual snow. Painful to be in bright light. I believe the very dry eyes are most of the problem. I take antihistamine every day too. I ingest a few supplements for the eye, but may have developed an allergic reaction to lutein. I have hives on and off and am trying to figure out, which supplement is causing it. I am almost diabetic, and have had 2 strokes. I am a mess, and 70 years old, too. Any answers would be beneficial. Thanks.

      Depends on the prescription. Overall though, many people will see more sharply with hard RGP contact lenses.

      I contacted the company and they said no. But you can take it to an eyeglass store and they can put prescription lenses in it.

    I go to EyeEco link that you had mentioned but they don’t have any moisture chamber glasses with inside cartridge. My Dr prescribed me those glasses. Is there anyway I get it?
    Please help me.. I really need it.
    Thanks

    I have dry eye syndrome but I see rainbow halos around lights, especially at night or starbursts with a little line, is that normal? My head and eyes hurts a lot during the day and even though I take eye drops like my eye doctor told me to it doesn't stop.

    • @DoctorEyeHealth
      @DoctorEyeHealth  3 года назад

      The rainbow around lights is pretty common. It can come from uncorrected refractive error (need for glasses), dry eyes like you have, cataracts and corneal scarring. Just to name a few.

      They look like most other colored contact lens brands out there. They are made from older lens materials. Have not tried them myself though

      I don't think they would. But these glasses can fit prescription lenses in them up to a certain amount of power. How high is your glasses prescription?

    • @DoctorEyeHealth

      Yes they do work, but are best for evaporative dry eye. Likely, dry eye will require treatment beyond just using these but I know they help for a lot of people.

    Bought these glasses, they don’t seal properly even if you “fix” it by adjusting them. I grabbed myself the smaller size, I had issues with the sealing for the top. They recommended the larger ones and when I asked for a refund instead of dealing with them, I was told a bigger size would fit better and that it wasn’t a defective product. 🙌
    I even had 3 different people try them on to check for sizing and they all had the same “sealing” issue as me.
    😒

    • @DoctorEyeHealth
      @DoctorEyeHealth  3 года назад

      Very sorry to hear that...I can imagine how frustrating that is. I have personally never had a problem with the seal but I do occasionally have to adjust it by flexing the nose bridge. Do you find them comfortable at all? Have you tried the Ziena brand at all?
