i agree w/ nick's take on the level of evolving between grasso, and the bullet. gotta give it to grasso for this fight. the only way i see bullet winning is through top control after a successful takedown
26:58 i'll do a great review on the rhythm step. It had nothing to do with anything. What makes this fight good for disproving your point is that Superlek threw the elbow once before the KO. Haggerty was doing the bounce/rhythm step and stepped in with the jab to which Superlek countered with the elbow but missed. So what was the difference if he timed it to the rhythm step? Well, he didn't time it to the rhythm step, he timed it to the jab. But why did he miss the first time and connect the second time? Well, the first jab that Haggerty threw, he stepped in and then stepped back out with the lead leg. As he stepped back out, Superlek threw the elbow but Haggerty covered up with his right arm and blocked it. This is the benefit of jabbing while stepping in and out because it gets you out of danger. The second time Haggerty threw the jab, he stepped in and his rear leg followed as he threw the cross. You know... the way you're taught to do in boxing class when you jab down the line... this put Haggerty all the way in the danger zone. Superlek's elbow will connect in much the same way a boxer that's on the ropes and ducks a combo to clinch will hit with the shoulder first at such close range. Do you realize how often the so-called "rhythm step" happens? 99.9% of the time nothing happens. Of the 0.1% of stuff that does get cherry picked to prove the "significance" of the rhythm step, if you look closely at it, the rhythm step had nothing to do with anything. For instance, if you check his channel, you will see a video titled "another rhythm step victim" which is Usman vs Edwards 2, where Usman got KO'd. If you actually watched the fight, he was KO'd NOT because he took a little rhythm step, but because of the head kick set up. Edwards threw a jab (set up) followed immediately by a left head kick. The problem was that Usman slipped the jab right into the kick. This is the danger of too much head movement in kickboxing and muay thai. The rhythm step had no relevance, as his legs were not crossed or even very close together. Use your logic and THINK. Don't be a blind follower like a moonie😂
I’ll be honest part of me finds it hilarious how Chatri wanted one final word in with how DJ has been treated by the UFC in erasing his history so they made a big deal of inducting him in toy THEIR hall of fame first😭🙌 I aspire to be that petty someday haha. 🤣
the fact that you thought Merab was muslim because he is wrestler says a lot about your knowledge of international martial arts. typical American MMA community
Ngl I’m STILL hype from ONE in Denver. And I wasn’t even there in person haha. The energy seemed electric and I can only imagine what the experience was like up close in person. I feel for Haggerty but i think it’s kinda indisputable right now that Superlek is the striking GOAT🤷🏻♂️ And it was amazing to see DJ get the respect and love he’s earned it was emotional AF. ONE handles retirements so well usually. And what did you guys Think of Adrian Lee’s performance? It’s INSANITY he’s only 18 cuz if you compare him and his skill set to a Raul Rosas it’s legit not even CLOSE😤👏
UFC definitively came out great after the MM/Askren trade. They got to show that their champ was champ tier in another organisation, and that the outside champ was mid tier in theirs.
28:19 stop making a fuss about the rhythm step because that had nothing to do with the ko. Superlek already knew that haggerty was going to step in with the 1,2 and knew that his counter elbow would land faster than his cross. Stop believing in snake oil salesman trainers that were once only amateurs. Not all of their ideas are good and there's a reason you don't see them cornering pros. They claim to do "camps" for pros but a camp could be 1 day just so they could brag about it in their bio.
Hey Causals! SEAN OR MERAB?
Pitch to rename to the Causals when the pod causes the Nicky Rod/Gordon Ryan rematch

Just a minor correction: Leon Edwards is a southpaw so it was a cross he threw and not a jab.
I’m waiting for the day y’all get Demetrious Johnson on here
