This is great! Never heard of the jellyfish.

Freshwater jellyfish are obviously super rare!.....literally only a handful of people have ever seen them. They "bloom" at random locations throughout the Great Lakes, usually in still water areas towards the end of summer. They appear and disappear in just a few weeks.

We actually just set up a 350 gallon freshwater tank at the Great Lakes Maritime Center in Port Huron. Sunfish are a good choice for 55 gallons. They are pretty, social and will hand feed if you are into that. Small catfish like bullheads which only grow to ten inches are also a good choice. If you are looking to source fish, local fish farms are the best (we like Imlay City Fish Farm) The fish are born for tanks and ponds, which is better than taking them from the wild. Hope this helps!

Freshwater fish have a terrible PR firm, lol. We think they're a LOT prettier than most people seem to think. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Thanks for sharing! I always wondered what kind of fish the great lakes have. I love close to Cleveland and Lake Erie!

The suckers. Sturgeon sunfish and catfish and crawfish will all eat zebra mussels.

You are right. A lot of native species are now eating zebra mussels. And you can watch bass eating gobies on one of our newest videos, ruclips.net/video/CkrvK8WyGTs/видео.html
