I saw David Copperfield near the beginning of his career in the early 80's. This was in Dallas TX. I was sitting on the aisle about 30 rows from the stage. With a wave of his hand, he disappeared. Barely 5 seconds later the spotlight came on right next to me. There stood David Copperfield. I got his autograph in the lobby after the show.
Pretty amazing.
Thanks
Bob
This happened to me as well. My sister and I went to see him in Cleveland, sitting about the same distance you did he disappeared and appeared right next to me. I almost fell out of my chair!!!
like many others, i grew up watching his specials, and stayed awake late at night trying to figure out how he did his illusions. one day my parents picked me up from jr high early and drove me to ft worth, it happened to be my birthday. when we got downtown, i saw several of his trucks with his image and it hit me...i was going to get to see him live! a few years later, my best friend took me to see him in dallas, also on my birthday, lol. i got to see two of my favorite illusions: the fan, and the cocoon. he walked by me during one of those shows, but i never got an autograph. i need to see his show in vegas to complete my journey!
Yup. Seen him live over 40 times in my life. Had the chance to meet and talk to him a couple of times. Super nice, down to earth guy. The GOAT, for sure.
I have also watched him since I was a kid, but this past July I lived my dream and finally saw him live. My family and friends paid for my trip knowing how much I had done for them this past year. My sister paid for my meet and greet seat, mom and sister paid for my hotel room and my PT paid for my air fare. Meeting him after the show was magical. He signed my shirt, he knew my name from twitter and gave me a personalized autograph on his picture and I got to help him with the backstage illusion. I loved every second and am hoping to go back in spring!!
@@cdjukic48 I did notice a small white X on the carpet in the aisle next to my seat. He nailed the landing.
Many Many years ago. I was 6 watching the Mike Douglas show. A young David Copperfield was on. I watched in amazement. Later that year my family was in New York having dinner. I looked up and saw him 3 tables away. I told my dad and asked if we could go meet him. I walked over and said ur Mr. Copperfield. Can I have ur autograph. He said sure kid they cost $5. I said I don't have $5. Without a pause he said sure u do and pulled 5 $1 coins from my ear. I looked amazed. He shook my dad's hand, and walked away. Wat a class act
Lifelong dream to see his show live and FINALLY did this Aug with my youngest son, front row seats 😊 and LOVED it! And his narrative about his father was so timely for us having recently lost his dad and a few months later my son, his middle brother... family is why we do what we do to succeed and persevere💙💙💙
One of the best interviews he's done. It's great to see an interviewer who did some actual homework, and didn't just ask the same 5 dumb questions to Copperfield. It's also the most real I've seen Copperfield be. I think it's great to see that at 66 he's become comfortable enough to just kind of hang out. Also a nice homage to Channing Pollock's charm. Bravo!
He should have asked him about his association with pervy Jeffery Epstein….😮
I was fortunate to be able to see him 4 times, the first was the best simply for the venue and the illusions he performed. Each show was better with new magic but the first was the most impressive to me.
rthrthrth
I wish the TV specials were released on DVD.
I'm sure they would sell incredibly well.
Yes
He has one on dvd but it’s a compilation of his shows. 15 Years of Magic.
They would!
Been watching this guy since I was 8 years old. I'll always love him forever ✨💫
How old are you now? 12?
@@chezchezchezchez lolol 42 in 4 days but thanks
Was lucky enough to see him live - awesome. Would love to see again!
It's incredible, when David Copperfield was starting big in Magic/illusion...I was just coming on the scene. I was born 1976,
Mr. Copperfield is hands down the greatest Illusionists of our time.
Live Legend. Thank you indeed. And hello from Kazakhstan 🇰🇿
He seems like an awesome human being.
He is pretty cool. I got to know him a bit. Very sweet guy.
The best ever!!!...David Copperfield!!
What an awesome interview of David Copperfield by Jeff Glor...I enjoyed watching it a lot.
Got to see David in the early 90s at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh Pa, and it was magical! So good to see him working so hard after all these years.
Wow that was awesome thanks for sharing
I have had the opportunity to meet him a few times, what a great down to earth gentleman.
I remember watching a rubber band trick he did and I had to rewind the VHS tape to try to figure it out, I couldn’t but I came up with my own way to do it😀
Thanks for his inspiration
His specials were awesome!!!!!! We could not wait for his next big special
Loved this, he seems refreshed somehow.
📼 of his shows that still entertain me. Thanks Dave.
THE HAIR 👌🏼
O yes how I love that beautiful black hair
Headed to Barnes and noble to buy it now
I saw him many years ago when he was performing in Atlantic city once seen never forgotten
He is my favorite magician of all time, ever
It always tickles me that he's from Metuchen, New Jersey, a town I lived in.
Wow the biggest and best magic collection in the world.
David Copperfield un personaggio rafinato elegante, un grande della Magia.
Good morning CBS
Good one😊

magical
Cool interview
That is awesome
I remeber when he relesed the movie the secret of the phantom of the opera and I keep watching it.
So this is truly a commercial.
Magic is the total defiance, of all natural laws and science. With magic, the impossible becomes possible.
Wow, Copperfield has a beautiful full head of hair!!!! It's unbelievable how great he looks.
It's a hairpiece!
That is a wig for sure!
He needs to work a little magic on that wig.....It's not even proportionate to his over head size.
Hair transplant
@@benkei7530 its a rug
BEAUTIFUL Blue linen suit on the host. Very striking with the crisp white shirt. NICE!
Totally recommend his Las Vegas show...just saw it in August. It was magical! (😂Sorry...couldn't resist!)
David Copperfields dad gave up his acting for his sons dream. Thats love.
Excellent magician
Cool
Do an episode with David blain or lennart green. :)
Did he discuss that rug?
His rug was distracting
ha ha ha
You'd think he could do a lot better with the kind of money he has.
@@nomadicnewbie Maybe that's how he performs. Distracting us from the slight of hand...
@@jeffreyd508 :-) That's his best trick.
❤️🍀♾🙏such an inspiration-generations of magic🦋⚖️🕊💋
HIs first special and career was made possible by my Steven's dad MIKE GOLDBERG who managed David but never seems to receive the credit. He protected David's interests and put him on the map. David's dad (mentioned) also deserves credit as both he and Goldberg invested in David's career.
i bought that cool book with that has Orson wells bonus footage ps moon shapes in the sky copperfield video number 76
What is the lady name on left in dark blue
Really sic7
I can appreciate the desire to produce things that will inspire children just don't go down the route of Uri Geller that pretended to fool adults.
so we arent going to talk about that wig??/
My comment is not about Copperfield, but the two female “news” presenters: I find their ludicrous 4-5” Stiletto heels to be worse than inappropriate! I find them outright offensive... What kind of message are their (dangerous and painful to walk in) spiked heels sending to young girls?! That no matter what their jobs are to be once they’ve grown up, they must come across as Sex Objects? Really? In 2021?! We might as well be back in the (very misogynist) 1970’s! MEMO TO CBS STYLISTS: Grow up, and give these female employees equal dignity and gravitas to their male co-workers! There is NO historical context for Stilettos, that does not involve misogyny, or women in the workplace being sexually objectified. That a major television broadcasting company, in 2021, should NOT know better than this, is well beyond appalling: It is reprehensible, misogynistic, and must STOP NOW!!
Aging….don’t ya just wish magic worked on that. 🤣
among his most famous tricks are making the statue of liberty, a jetliner, and a drugged young assistant's blouse disappear, what a creep
Its not magic its fake.
Some of his illusions are dangerous!
waddafarkkk happen to his face???
He has some weird hair.
Nice wig
Its witchcraft!!!
I hope he goes to prison. He can "magically escape" 😂🤡🤮
Thought it was horse head John Kerry.
Lets go Brandon!!!!!!!!!!
apparently he made ur intelligence disappear whilst watching him..chump
hahaha easy to mistake, as they both use illusions to deceive.. plus that freaky horse face thing going on. let's go di niro, as well
Hey David , your a lier !
Why?
Cool
