HI - these are all great! thank you. If I may add, one of my go-to high protein snacks are the tuna pouches. They come in all kinds of different flavors and also in salmon, chicken, or pulled pork! About $1/$1.50 each at Walmart!
I make a protein shake using my leftover coffee in the morning. I add vanilla protein powder (24 g protein), 2 tbps peanut butter powder (7 g) & ice for a refreshing shake and I also have a hard boiled egg (6 g) after my morning run & workout. An easy 37 g protein for only 250 calories! This also makes a great snack that's quite filling.
Thank you! I just found you yesterday, already subscribed and hit notifications. You explain EVERYTHING so easy and you're motivating. I binged your videos yesterday at work and after my w/o in the sauna this morning. Keep up the excellent work!❤❤
Very encouraged this morning by all your videos I’ve been watching. I feel like I’ve been sort of stuck trying to figure it all out because yes as a newbie it’s overwhelming. Thanks for sharing… now off to Costco.
Great tips thank you! One thing I do is make the Jaimie Eason turkey meatloaf muffins (with the leanest turkey available). These have 40g protein and 262 calories for 2 muffins. You can add more flavor by adding different things. Personally I like adding minced jalapeños. I have done kalamata olives but have to be careful of the calories. I eat them cold while I am driving g or walking or at my desk. Love these. I might try making some with lean ground beef.😊
I used to think that cheese is bad. I love that I can eat cheese to add protein to my meals! Especially when I’m not great with cooking meats and I always try to find easy protein that doesn’t need cooking.
Other portable, high protein snack idea are: On the west coast of Canada we have candied salmon, then there is beef and salmon jerky. All are high protein and very easy to carry in your purse or bag.
Hi just wanted to mention cottage cheese, I’ve recently starting mixing in chocolate protein powder. I love my cottage cheese sweet not savory. I’m wondering where you find your wraps. Just found you and appreciate all the info !! Thank you. :)
High protein foods will satiate you and you never get really hungry. I've 'accidentally' fasted for 24 hours a few times... Having a high protein dinner..the next day I was simply not hungry. It would be late afternoon when I realized I didn't eat during the day...just not hungry.
This is what I needed because sometimes I don't even have time. I just wanted to say thank you Michelle, you are the reason I started actually working out because you explained everything so easily. Started body recomp a few months ago and got to say everything has been working out for me, don't get me wrong, I am still struggling, but I still keeping moving forward and not giving up. Lost more weight and now my clothes fit me way better and I am more comfortable in my body as well as confidence. I am lot healthier than I ever did. Now I work out every single day and just loving do it. I just feel good and have energy. I am really glad you showed body recomposition and calorie deficit. I want to thank you for everything and still looking at your videos so I can improve on myself. Keeping bringing the videos! My progress so incase people want to get inspired: ruclips.net/user/shortsfLMzoXS9mNs
I dont eat animal products so I find it difficult to eat enough protein that doesn't come with a chunk of carbs. Some days I get to the end of the day and I'm still 200 calories below my claorie budget and am 20/25 g below my protein goal but I just can't fit any more food in my stomach. Any advice? BTW I love your videos, your so inspiring and you teach so well! I love that your videos are so focused and to the point.
I recently found your channel and it is fantastic! I am loving all of your videos and they are helping me so much at the perfect time so thank you so much! And how did I not know you were a fellow Canadian? 😁
Check out Quest Protein Bars. They run 170 -200 calories with 21 grams of protein. Lower calories than the ones you mentioned. Plenty of good tasting flavors to choose from.
I noticed in a few of your healthy cookie recipes you call for 1/2 C honey. Can you use or have you ever tried replacing that w stevia, monk fruit, or any type sweetener ? THX!!
That’s easy; 2 cups pancake mix, 2 eggs beaten, 1/2 cup milk, 3 tablespoons oil, or melted butter, 1/3 cup granulated sweetener of choice. Mix gently, place in greased muffin tins. Bake 350 for 20-25 minutes. Hope that helps, late in coming, but better late than never! Enjoy
Quest protein chips are yummy. Just pricey. Most to go snacks seem to be cheeses and protein bars. I just cant eat that much cheese. May need to check out your protein bars....maybe the cliff bars. Thank you.
Yes remember these aren't meals - they are just quick easy options for snacking on the go if you aren't able to put together a real meal. Not necessarily to rely on everyday, more so for just in case when you are on the go :)
I know its a protein video but at least mention the carbs and fat grams in each item. That would be a big help to allow me to see if this is even an option for my macros. Thanks
Hey Michelle I was just wondering if it’s ok that I split up my workouts for body recomp and I was wondering should I be eating the calories back that I burned?? And how do I know if I’m on the right track to body recomp and not bulking just wondering?im 14 and I’m trying to do a body recomp but I’m having trouble can you help me with just a couple questions I have?i wanted a personal trainer but I think they wanted to charge me 224 every week so like 6,000 a month I’m currently thinking about following a body recomp workout plan from transparent labs is it ok that I follow that workout routine since I got it online it would be great if you could respond!
May I suggest you weigh the turkey, I bought the same slices and 2 slices doesn’t equal the 73 g and therefore not the amount of protein it says. I weigh and portion out the 73g( I believe it’s 73 or 75g) and I’m sure to have the amount of protein it actually is. 😊
Oh yes of course anyone who is tracking closely and just learning should weigh their food as all packaging are just estimates and their is a wide margin of error :)
Not rude at all you are open to your own opinion. I eat cheese in moderation and I belief in a healthy balanced lifestyle no foods are 100% off limits. Moderation is key but great job if you never eat any food that is processed …. 👌🏼
I'm not saying to eat 10 pieces of cheese lol.... fat is ok and not bad for you. As I say in the video - just look at your daily macro intake and make sure you are staying within your daily fat grams - so choose foods accordingly based on the rest of your day :)
I eat protein bars and am still very healthy and lean :) Yes they are not the best option; however, the point of this video is high protein snacks for "on the go". Meaning I'm showing the best options to carry with you vs. stopping for fast food or baked goods at coffee shops. That's great that you only eat whole foods and never eat anything processed or fast food. I like to believe that no foods are off limits and everything is ok in moderation. Yes, I don't recommend people eat protein bars when they are at home and have access to whole foods in their fridge, but they are still a fine option for on the go.
I have to disagree with you, but everyone is open to their own opinion. 👌🏼👌🏼 A healthy lifestyle in my opinion means no foods are off limits and everything is allowed in moderation. The key is moderation👌🏼👌🏼

Frigo or sargento light string cheese. Good snacks, and I also chop them up and use them on my low calorie protein pizza.
@MichelleRoots I am allergic to Banana's and Avocado's. What is a good substitute for both.
HI - these are all great! thank you. If I may add, one of my go-to high protein snacks are the tuna pouches. They come in all kinds of different flavors and also in salmon, chicken, or pulled pork! About $1/$1.50 each at Walmart!
Yes those are great as well!! They were on my list but didn't make the top 8 so thanks for adding them here!
Oh yeah these are great!!
Good low calorie option. I have these in my lunch bag with some crackers.
Dry roasted edamame is one of my goto snacks. Salty, crunchy, low calorie and high protein, so so good 😋

Isn't prolonged use of protein powders very bad for you?
I’m in my early to mid 60’s; I find this channel interesting and request if you’ll make a video for my generation, thanks ❤

This is perfect thank you. I'm trying to get in 167g as I weigh 167lbs but I'm living off protein bars, protein shakes and protein yoghurts to do it!
Happy to help!!!
Love you straight forward educational approach, getting right to it rather than too much conversation ❤
Thank you!!!
I sometimes do an easy tuna salad…tuna pack with one hard boiled egg…relish…I need some low cal mayo…but it’s good
Great idea!
Thank you. I actually had a lot of these in my kitchen but did not consider putting them together for snacks, etc.
You are so welcome!

Awesome!!! Hope you have a great day too!

Your channel has very good content. Simple and easy to digest. Don't mind the pun😅.
Should really have more views. Algorithm hating I guess.
Thanks Terry. Yes it's growing slow and steady :). As long as the people watching are learning things I"m fine with that :)
Thank you!!!
You're welcome!
Great video your hair looks great 😊
Thank you!! 😊
"ONE" protein bars are really good. They only have one gram of sugar and have 20 grams of protine. They also are only 220 calories.
I have never tried them but thanks for sharing!
Love 1st phorm
Me too!!!
How about a video of making your own protein snacks. I am plant based. So cheese isn’t an option I also try not to eat salt, sugar or oil?
Great idea
Thanks Michelle.
Where do you buy both those wraps? I am on Vancouver Island so should have the same supermarket options.
I noticed in a few of your healthy cookie recipes you call for 1/2 C honey. Can you use or have you ever tried replacing that w stevia, monk fruit, or any type sweetener ? THX!!
Yes I don’t see why you couldn’t?
Where do you find Protein up wraps
So weird I can't find them in stores anymore?? I think they are not longer available?? I miss them lol!
Do you have a printable list of grab and go protein snacks?
Any suggestions for those of us with really high cholesterol?
what do you think about built bars?
to be honest I have never tried them, but I have some clients that like them!
Where do you get the protein up wraps?
Just at the grocery store by my house :)
On Weight Watchers
What do you recommend yes or no
Do I recommend weight watchers????

So much processed food. Way more healthier ways to get your protein.
Protein bars are garbage. Glorified candy bars. How can they be recommended?😳The rest are fine. Only Whole Foods are good for you.
