I had to leave a stressful marriage to save my health…cortisol was flatlined and adrenals were just spent. Being with a narcissistic person is tough on the body…if you are doing everything else right this may be your issue as well. Life is so much better and my body after a few years has been healed- takes a lot of time and love
Was with a narcissist for 5 years and he literally sucked the souls out of me. Same thing… he needed to go for my health. In complete adrenal fatigue. I could not exercise with out getting sick. It’s been 4 years and I still don’t think my body is out of it yet. I am way better but I still have to not over do it with physical stress. I am down a good 30 plus pounds though since that ended but it took awhile.
I’m so glad I found this video. I recently went through a very stressful time in my life, was still working out, but still felt weak, and ended up gaining a lot of weight in my stomach area. I wasn’t sleeping a lot at all, fatigued, and dragging all day.
I have pcos and hormonal imbalance and with age I'm 36.. and it's getting harder to keep the belly down. I'm not hugely overweight but my stomach just carries more and more every couple years
You’re awesome I’m almost 66 years young I have been working out forever and my issue is the belly fat I do watch my diet I did start your advice on increasing the weights because I’m stuck in the town mode of my body and I’m so happy my daughter found you thank you again
You have been a game changer for me!! Went from 210 to 140 with whole30. Unfortunately that lifestyle did not give me a positive perspective on certain foods. Foods I needed to gain muscle. I ended up with muscle injury because I wasn’t correctly feeding my body. Thank you for all of your videos. It has helped me regain a better relationship with food, and knowledge I need to get back on tack.
Im someone who has gained fat in all the areas belly arm thighs ...im 45 and going thru peri menopause. Ive been doing strength training, pilates yoga and also eating right..but no wt loss or fat loss. So has been a very frustrating journey for me. But i love your videos .i love how u keep it real!. Thank you
Peri and post menopause are a whole other animal. Many women are finding themselves insulin resistant at that point and have to cut WAY back on carbs, reduce strength training down to 3 -4 days a week for 30 to 45 minutes with plenty of recovery time In between sets, and lots of walking on the off days, in order to get the scale moving again and to reduce the symptoms and effects of menopause.
Sounds like you are doing great! Hormonal changes during peri menopause can play factor in this, but it’s not impossible. Keep up with your strength training, make sure you are eating well (and enough) and keep tracking progress. Also might be helpful to speak to your doctor or a naturopath about any symptoms you are experiencing with peri menopause.
Great video!!! Could you do a video on gut health, i am following your your advice mentioned in this video, but still have issues with IBS constipation, especially with increasing my protein… do you have any recommendations?
Great information!! I just started working out 2.5 months ago and am barely seeing results but trying to be patient. I feel so much better but need to work on some of the things you recommend. I am floored out how many ppl believe those quick fix/promises to reduce belly fat overnight!🤦🏻♀️ The amount of views says it all. I believe we gotta do the WORK! It won’t be easy but I KNOW it’ll be WORTH IT💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Yes!!!! Patience and Consistency will always win in the long run!! So glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful!! Keep me posted on your journey!!
Would love to get 7-9 hours of sleep but I keep waking up earlier than I want too. What has worked for me is eating more protein vs carb and fat. And sometimes I use I.F. And I have been more active and am getting outside more and lifting weights. I lead day off with eggs or yogurt. You need to build more muscle. The types of calories u ingest matter bc they impact hormones differently and the refined carbs are super-addictive vs whole foods. Need to get good protein. Definitley try and remove refined carbs and refined oils. The stress reduction is tough if working for a company that demands a lot in a short period of time. And you need to an meals and try and not bring cookies into the house. Hey, I am not perfekt and still have addictions. Thx food industry.
I've been struggling with hormonal belly after I got on birth control. I've been trying to get it out. But I've felt like I have to cover myself up and I just want to in brace myself.
Menopause is the cause of my tummy. I’m slim all over and fit. I tried smaller sized meals and stomach muscle exercises and that helped but I think it needs a long time to reduce the fat.
Sleeping 6-8 hours to me it’s impossible right now.. I have 3 small kids who don’t like to sleep lol.. I haven’t slept seven or even six hours straight since I had my first daughter five and half years ago. Having two kids in two years didn’t help lol But I’m eating on a calorie deficit and I started working out again so hopefully I’ll start seeing a difference soon in my waist.. I already lost 12 pounds just with eating clean.. I’m 4’11 109lbs Love your videos! Thanks for all the info
Congrats on your weight loss so far Paula!! So glad you are enjoying my videos!! PS. I totally get the sleep thing lol I have a 4 1/2 year old and a 2 year old lol …. I always say just do your best to make sleep a priority when you can 😂💪🏻👌🏼
I lost my husband of 20 years in a really bad automobile accident on November 16th 2021. We had been together since we were 12 years old he was my best friend for 32 years. I assume my cortisol levels are completely out of control because I have lost literally over half of my hair and I don't know if grief has anything to do with cortisol levels but I'm falling apart, I can't lose weight, I'm not eating, I get plenty of sleep and my hair is just falling out. How do you reduce cortisol levels when you're grieving?
Hello I'm so very worry to hear about your husband, I can't even imagine what you are going through. My best advice is give yourself the time to grieve and start small. If you are not eating right now, start by starting to eat small meals through the day with mainly whole foods. Find a form of movement that you enjoy even if it's just walking, start by walking once a day and listening to a podcast or yoga etc... Focus on the basic healthy habits like sleep, drinking water, eat more fruits and veggies, and move your body when you can :) I hope this helps and my heart goes out to you
Trauma (traumatic grief) can affect the physical body. Some of my friends have gotten breakthrough in their physical health by going to a trauma counselor- I will pray for you.
Excellent analysis.. I have a cortisol problem. Have two vodkas a day and walk 20k steps everyday and strength strength weights 3 times a week but still unable to reduce as much as I would like .i take ashwagandha and I take Metaformin as my diabetes is at 8 .. why else can I do ?? I don’t take sugar and o just indulge on the weekend Thank you appreciate your help
I find lifting weights relaxing also and I really enjoy it but I was told doing it to much could stress my body and raise cortisol. Is that very likely?
Yes I also find it as a stress relief, too much meaning like 6-7 days per week heavy with no recovery days or rest could increase cortisol, but as long as you are recovering properly and allowing for rest days you should be fine :)
I need sleep 😴 I work the night shift and even if I get 6-7 hrs I still feel tired. Been on night shift for 4 years now and each year I’ve only gained, 5 lbs a year. Trying to keep this year from the gain.
Does this apply for men too? My husband has lost 30lbs but has pot belly and is trying to loose. We are drinking half our body weight in water and eating 0.7 of protein per our body weight and i am also down 30 lbs.
Well sleep part isn’t going to work. I’m forced to be on a cpap machine to keep my job. The cpap causes much stress and bad sleep. I’m tired every day now. I have told the doctors but they don’t listen. Honestly I’m starting to believe my only way off of it is to die. Because I’m not changing careers.
Hello, I'm sorry to hear this; however, with that being said sleep is only one of the factors that could be affecting belly fat. Adding more movement to your day, strength training, eating more protein and clean nutrient dense foods can also help even if sleep isn't as good as you would like :) I hope this helps!
@@Tarotjackpot I am ecstatically happy to say that I am no longer on the machine. Had another sleep study by a different company and it proved I never had a problem. Original company was just looking at dollar signs. Now I sleep good.
What about when your cortisol is low? I had high cortisol symptoms for a while and then things got worse, when I got tested I actually have very low cortisol. And shot adrenals.
I had this during a very stressful time in my life. My naturopath said to get out for a nice walk; not too fast; in the early am. Rain or shine. Early daylight is huge. Only 1 cup of coffee in morning. Also afternoon or evening walk or after dinner if possible. Eating dinner 3 hours before bedtime with a serving of complex carbs. Evening routines that you find relaxing. I took Epsom salt baths some evenings; reading; gardening; cup of herbal tea few hours before bed; I used lavender essential oils on bottoms of my feet before bed; dark room; no phone / iPad use unless listening to things that relax; try to go to bed same time every evening. My naturopath put me on ashwaganda , Maca; and b12 for my adrenal fatigue. Also; lowering stress wherever possible. For me it was toxic work environment; and being in a very narcissistic relationship; and being a single mom of many kids, working 3 jobs and mainting their lifestyle / activities etc. Really being kind to yourself; and doing things that fills your cup putting yourself as a priority. Hugs ❤
SHOULD I BE CONSUMING MY PROTEIN BASED ON THE BALANCE RATIO (like 40%P & C and 20%F) … OR… DO I STICK TO PROTEIN AT 1g/lb? I ask because these numbers are veryyyy different because I am releasing a lot of body fat.
Hi Faith if you are currently losing a lot of body fat, keep doing what you are doing as it's working and don't worry too much about the numbers. I always recommend trying to hit the 1g of protein per day as a starting point then try to hit the other macro percentages once you are hitting your protein goal regularly. I hope this helps!
I do 20 min of HIIT on my mini trampoline plus 45 minutes of weight training 3 days a week. Then I do 1 hour of dance class twice a week on other days. And then do active rest like walking the other days. I find that doing HIIT and weight training on same day has sky rocketed my appetite. However I noticed belly fat seemed to melt like butter despite eating more
Ive heard someone who claimed to be a professional say that exercising more and eating less doesnt really help with cortisol levels but only makes it worse, however, based on my own research it seems like exercising did indeed help alot ot people, any opinion on this?
Buuuuuuuut, how do I lose my lil belly and gain muscle? I’m confused about calorie surplus for muscle but deficient to lose the fat. I’m skinny with a belly. Muscular from weight training but get comments on being too skinny but yet I look pregnant
